I voted for Midna from Twilight Princess. She is too cool for school and I bet her final smash would be sick.

OCR02047 - Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past "Great Job!"
Devyn replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This tune makes me happy, sad and nostalgic at the same time. It's beyond great and stirs the emotions pretty hard. -
Freedom Planet is coming to Wii U. Source: http://gematsu.com/2015/03/freedom-planet-coming-wii-u-eshop Trailer: It's a real treat for fans of Genesis-era Sega and Sonic fans. It's already been out for PC for a while but playing it on my Wii U should be awesome. I'm also really excited for Splatoon, Starfox, and other titles purported on schedule to release this year. I'm glad that the Wii U is picking up so many quality indie titles, as the major-label third party support for the system is indescribably bad. Thank heavens for indies and first party.

Thoughts? The Blob better be back. He was my main. Also, Taffy. And Trigger Happy. I loved Clayfighter 63 and 1/3, but I don't think all of those characters will be returning as many of them were definitely "politically incorrect" to put it lightly. Still, count me in. I love some Clayfighter. Now I must go play the originals. Thank you.

^ It must be true. I was crushed by you the last time we played, and I'm by no means a bad MK8 player.
-
That would be me. I think it's an amazing game, glitches included, and I still love playing it here and there. It has great challenge and an excellent soundtrack. Plus, it's shorter than the other games - all killer, no filler.

It's a pretty cool track. History Repeating Red has really grown on me. Just little parts like in Afraid of The Dark when you can hear machinery from the stage going off in the background and flowing with the music, and other tracks that I didn't like so much like "I Refuse To Believe". Now that one is one of my favorites, and of course the closing track just builds so well. Those guys can write. I can't wait to see what they do next, hopefully Mega Man X.

At least Capcom didn't run him into the ground with tons of bad games. Sure, there have a been a few misses, but even the more-rushed games were still fun (okay Mega Man X7 was disappointing). At least one can think "Well, hell, they ended with Mega Man 9 and 10 and those were great." No, I'm not counting the fan games and the smartphone game in this. I just want to personally know the TRUTH of the situation. Are the execs just butt-hurt, even after Inafune offered to help develop a Mega Man game with his studio? Or is it just Capcom crunching numbers to avoid studio closure or shedding assets? I mean, look at the current gaming environment. Almost every other game now seems to be some Call of Duty style shooter, with bald space marines yacking it up or some cheaply made, quick-for-cash discount bin game, or Madden or mainstream whatever jock-bro game is hot at the time. Does Mega Man with his perma-boy build and big anime eyes even have a chance of being a fraction as successful as it once was anyway? And if Capcom brought back Mega Man, which version would it be? More retro goodness, which would be more of the same and get critically banned for being too similar, or would it be a dark and gritty (but good) reboot like Devil May Cry that alienated and pissed off some fans (who will whine about anything). One thing is for sure: It sure sucks to see Japanese gaming giants of yester-year, like Capcom and Konami, who were once an unstoppable juggernaut in the gaming industry, have to play it safe. I guess when money is tight you have to be. I hope that Mighty Number 9 sells well. Capcom might take note and bring us a Mega Man game and/or at least start taking more risks with their games. And please none of the gem dlc bullshit in CapcomXTekken. Please no.

You can just go back and play the old games the best you can.

I gave up on Capcom doing something (worthwhile) with Mega Man a long time ago. At this point I'm just happy that Inafune is honoring him in spirit with his recent projects with Comcept and that Mega Man is a fine fighter in the new Smash Brothers games. I don't expect more. Personally, I don't think it's the most optimal time for Mega Man. I wouldn't mind a more "mature" or "darker" revamp of perhaps the X series - perhaps there is a place for Mega Man in the limelight but as far as I see it I don't ever see the little fellow making a mainstream comeback. Everything is all dark and gritty now, and even if Capcom went the other route and made more classic-style Mega Man games, many fans and non-fans alike would bitch about the retro-platformer genre being over-done. I'm just happy that Inafune is doing his best to fill the niche craving that Mega Man fans have, and while Capcom could do amazing things with the little guy and his universe, I am not holding my breathe and my expectations might as well be nothing.

I gave up a long time ago. I've been focusing on Inafune and his company's works, especially Mighty Number 9. If Capcom decides to churn out a true Mega Man game, they will have my interest as well, but I'm not holding my breath.

Metroid Prime Trilogy for 10 bucks this week. It sure beats having to pay 100 bucks or so for the game.
-
I am quite stoked about being able to download Super Mario Galaxy 2 for ten bucks. I can't wait to download Metroid Prime Trilogy. This is most excellent news. Also, to echo a few others on here: Get Shovel Knight right now. I previously thought it was just another wannabe "8-bit style game" coasting on the old-school throwback style. Oh no. It is rad as hell, the game-play is super-tight, and Virt/Jake Kaufman once again seduces those ear drums. What a brilliant musician for an equally brilliant game. I personally think it is the best "retro-style" game since Mega Man 9. That good.

What was the first video game song you learned to play?
Devyn replied to duskvstweak's topic in General Discussion
Bubble Man from Mega Man II, on electric guitar. I can't remember which particular brand of amp or guitar. Both really cheap. The rhythm and lead parts are still super fun to play, still, especially the high notes before the "chorus". -
I am for this. It's a good idea. It might be difficult to do though. You or some other smart person should put this into action.
-
So that's what happened. Sorry about that one. I got it.
-
Whatever works for everyone else. I'm off no all nights so whenever. Nintendo needs to offer voice chat all around though.
-
Well, at least a few people showed up last night. Hylian Lemon, you are freaking ridiculous. Sure, I was drunk as a skunk while playing but even sober I would have no chance against you. You're crazy-good. I want to play again. Also, how the heck do you enable voice chat or is it just turned off for the ocr group?

I should be available Friday evening. Here's a run-down of the 1st DLC pack if you don't mind spoilers. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/11/preview_power_sliding_around_the_legend_of_zelda_x_mario_kart_8_dlc

I'm up for it. Anybody else?

I'm a dumb-ass. Perhaps you were not aware of that but maybe you are now. 101% it is. Anyway, Tropical Freeze is a killer game. And this tune kills when you get back to your own island and it's all frozen over: They should let David Wise score movies. He would do a killer job. Oh, and my personal favorite that gave me goosebumps for a few seconds when I first heard it: Okay, one more:
-
I picked up a very cheap copy of DKC: Tropical Freeze recently. It's very, very good and quite difficult. I wish more people would've given it a chance. The musical contributions by David Wise just blew me away all throughout the game. The guy has not missed a beat since the 90's. Being a dude who watched the old VHS tape from Nintendo Power and 103-percented the original game, I got some truly awesome 90's-style vibes from the game. The graphics look okay on paper, but in motion they are truly insane and there are things just moving around everywhere in the foreground and background. I cannot recommend the game enough. Also it is wayyyyy harder than the old DKC games. Be prepared to have a beer or two on hand during the later worlds. Yesterday, I downloaded the Bayonetta 2 demo and it's very cool. The combat is very fluid, and it doesn't hold your hand as far as combat with bosses. You have to decide when to evade, and evading is just as important as attacking. It's been very cool so far. The demo was just enough to make me want more.

I'm with Bleck on this one. I liked Brawl more than Melee as well. I think it improved on Melee in almost every possible way. I think the case for many is nostalgia goggles. I will always think Mega Man 2 is the best Mega Man game ever because at the time it floored me and I wanted to worship the game. There have probably been better Mega Man games that have come out but because I played that game at the right time when I was loving life it will always remain number 1 to me. Just my two cents and I don't mean any disrespect to anyone just so you know.

I am absolutely giddy over the Triforce cup and what the track designs may be like - Lake Hylia dodging octoroks and going underwater and stuff. Goron Mountains, passing by a giant goron and those giant rocks falling everywhere. Holy crap the possibilities are endless. And you know they're going to toss the Lost Woods up in there, with either the Link To The Past or Ocarina of Time forest music playing. Mark my words.

I was playing Injustice on PS3 the other day and each individual new character is 5 bucks a pop. I mean hell, with MK8 you're getting four tracks, three characters and four cars for 8 bucks, or twice that for 12 bucks? And none of this was day one DLC like so many other publishers are doing. I think the asking price for such an amount of content is very fair.
