  1. Hey, if you live in CT, then check out the tourney at my school. Nothing big, but it'll be fun: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?p=2343012#post2343012
  2. I'll never understand advertising. Does a dead goat and topless girls actually convince undecided consumers to by a product?
  3. I've been married for almost 4 months. The wife's due to give birth in June.
  4. I didn't really like Slaughterhouse 5, but I did appreciate his talent as a writer. And at least he wasn't a complete nut like J.D. Salinger.
  5. There are already online fighting games for the XBox & 360.
  6. I usually don't pay attention to videogame rumors I hear at school, but one caught my attention. Is there any truth to the rumor that Square-Enix is developing a Kingdom Hearts game for the Wii?
  7. Even this seems like a stretch. I always thought that since it's a legend, different people have been retelling the story with their own twists on it. Like an oral tradition kind of thing.
  8. Wow, what the hell? It's getting way too hard to follow all the changes on OC Remix without a home computer.
  9. Any Smashers in the New England area heading to Viva la Smash II? If so, drop me a line and maybe we can meet up and play a friendly or something.
  10. Young Link's speed and sex kick make up for his lack of strength. Just play Link fast... and his sex kick is good too. When you actually get real good with Link, you'll be saying "Who's Young Link?" Edit: I'm not saying you shouldn't play Young Link, but the older one definitely outweighs the younger one in terms of killing and winning. Personally I don't play Link, but my Smash Bros. counterpart has a damned good Link, but his Young Link is even scarier. True, Link has the power to get the kills, whick does make KO-ing alot easier.
  11. Young Link's speed and sex kick make up for his lack of strength.
  12. My educated guess based on Nintendo history (but no links or research) is sometime in March. Mario Galaxy will probably be a few weeks off that date, I hope. EDIT: 100th post! Woo-hoo, now I'm a Goomba! I will be very surprised if this game actually comes out in 2007. Huge delays seem to have become standard operating procedure in the videogame industry.
  13. Don't hate him because he's beautiful. Although, one of my friends has suggested that the headband Marth wears is actually a tiara.
  14. Yeah, I'm starting to love Marth as well. He's the perfect Peach counter.
  15. My problem is one of nervousness. I don't play as well in tournaments as I can simply because of stupid mistakes, missed L-cancels and other little things that add up over the course of a match. I practice alot of tactics at home and with my partner, but they're pretty useless if I'm too nervous to use them in an actual match. EDIT- Your absolutely right that I play a terrible Jiggs, but he's not really one of my tournament characters anyway. I counter-picked with him, and under normal circumstances I would never pick Jiggs at a tournament. But hey, sometimes you take a risk and see where it takes you, right?
  16. Haha, Global Trance, that SD was pretty bad, but oh well. More vids! Shminkledorf (Falco) vs. Jam Stunna (Jiggs) Shminkledorf (Marth) vs. Jam Stunna (Jiggs)
  17. Yes, definitely. I also missed way to many grabs, and the obvious SD at the end.
  18. I found the video of me as Roy. The quality is not as great as the other videos though. Match 1: Shminkledorf(Falco) vs. Jam Stunna (Roy) Peach and Falco are definitely the characters I have the most trouble against.
  19. Thanks for the tips, definitely. I have a friend who playus a much better Peach than the one I faced, so I do practice against him. One thing that I've been told as well is that I play too aggressively, and I'm really trying to work on that. As for the shield-cancelling, WD, and lack of grab combos, you're right about all those things. I'm really going to work hard to improve on those. I'm still really torn between IC and Roy though. I play better with the IC I think, but Roy was my first tourney character, and I spent most of my Smash career playing with him. I don't know, it's just a little nostalgia, I guess. I found an old vid of me playing with Roy from a tourney held July 1st, but I need the creator of the vid to send me a new link. Then I'll post it here.
  20. Results from the tournament: 1. Korean DJ 2. Yoyo 3. Spic Tom 4. Soup 5. JV Smooth 5. Zoso 7. Jam Stunna There were more, but I don't remember the results below myself. Thanks for the tips, hopefully I'll have more vids soon.
  21. Okay, got the vids! Both matches are myself versus Chopping Board. Match 1: Jam Stunna (IC) vs. Chopping Board (Peach) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zuy6Nqb9980 Match 2: Jam Stunna (IC) vs. Chopping Board (IC) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCez5rMHFFw One thing that Chop did better than me was de-synch his Ice Climbers. I'm still trying to work on that.
  22. Yeah, Korean is really cool. I don't know if they taped the Zoso matches since those were just friendlies, and we kept getting crappy stages from random. Anyway, it was fun.
  23. Any big name players show up? Korean DJ was there, and he proceeded to rape me thoroughly. Zoso's a more local celebrity, but he was there and I actually beat him in a few friendlies. Other than that, it was just local guys, some of whom might go to MLG.
  24. I went to a tournament last Saturday where they recorded just about everything. Hopefully I'll get the videos soon, and I'll post them here with a more detailed explanation of the tournament.
  25. Has anyone ever used Z-Cancelling has opposed to L-Cancelling? Same principle, but instead of doing aerials with either the C-Stick or A button, you use the Z button to attack and then immediately press Z again upon hitting the ground. Since you don't really have to move different fingers, like with L-Cancelling, it makes it alot easier and faster. I've been working at it lately and it really works. I'm just having a hard time unlearning years of L-cancelling.
