  1. Happened after the Gilsnapper mark for me. Also: The Gilgamesh battle was epic and pwnt (like many have already said). Fucking such an awesome surprise. First time I fought him I didn't realize that if I just leveled my two level 54s up to 55 he wouldn't be able to use any of his gay moves, but then second time I pwnt. I was pissed first time though because I got so close (See pic) . Currently I have three level 60s and three level 44s and I am at the Ancient City of Giruvegan. I always to all the marks and all exploring before I go on with the storyline, and my characters are power houses. All the enemies in the main story are pie.
  2. Really great remake, I wish I had more time to play it. I will definitely going to have to play all the way through some time, though I wish there was some sort of save feature. Also, yes, we REALLY need that game music. Rips or whatever just host it!
  3. I like being able to display 40 posts per page . I am used to Vbulletin, so I like the change, though we REALLY need an OCR skin, because the skins available suck, I am using the "Default Style" one currently.
  4. Feminine? Though I can understand not caring about sports games, but ditching shooters and fighters?woMan...
  5. [big List] Not to be a jerk or anything, but almost all of those games are either ports or nearly the same as their PS2 counterpart. It might be a good game, but when I can play it on my TV instead of on a handheld and get the exact same experience, I'd rather do that. In all honesty, most people play their handhelds at home, including myself. I'm not buying a PSP for a remake of GTA or Tekken when I can play something superior. Obviously you don't know too much about which ones are remakes, since both GTAs for the PSP and are brand new. They did make one GTA for the PS2 a year later, but it lacked multiplayer and other stuff. Ports aside there are more than enough great games for me though. I would say that this qualifies as a TON considering it would take many years to go through all of these great games. 7. GTFO. The PSP has a ton of awesome games that aren't emulation, but you wouldn't be able to comprehend that. Anyhow from my other thread: From PSP Updates: http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=11922 (Several Vids, but here is one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CW4m0gkei9k)
  8. Here is vague but good guide to the game. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/saturn/file/dragon_force_c.txt This is more small but more in-depth manual type guide http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/saturn/file/dragon_force_a.txt Other than that I will say that the game isn't as complicated as it may look, through there is definitely quite a bit of strategy involved. Basically your goal is to gather the eight members of the Dragon Force together to fight Madruk god of destruction and the like; in order to do this you must deploy your generals all over the continent and fight your way through to each Dragon Force member (the eight kingdom leaders). Each of your generals can have a certain amount of troops, and different troops have different weaknesses and stengths.(E.G Monks pwn cavalry). Each of your castles an hold 10 generals, and depending on wat level castle they ae they can hold a certain amount of troops to recuit in order to refill the troops you lose during battle (recruits refill over time). Anyhow, it is easier to learn to play Dragon Force than it might seem at first glance; once you get the basics down you can just experiment from there. Just try playing it. All you really need to do in order to start out is deploy troops to enemy castles, and beat them using tactical formations which they describe in the guide. If you have any questions don't hesiate to ask; because this game is to awesome pass up in my opinion.
  9. Well then you can just get the emulator, pop in the disc, and start playing if you want. I just finished the game with Junon; so much fun.
  10. Same here on the bottom part (I really need to play SF III right now since I have beaten I and II). I can' believe this Saturn emulator works almost flawlessly (sound is a bit off in some places)
  11. Thread I posted in unmod, maybe Gendisc will appreciate it more since unmod does not appreciate it's awesomeness enough: I was browsing unmod.org the other day, and Leokef (THANK YOU) posts this Now I went to a rom website and got the rom (mounted it on a virtual drive using alcohol 120% or some other program);and now I can play one of the best games ever on my PC. I have been wanting to play Dragon Force again for so long, and this is SO FUCKING AWESOME. I used to play it all of the time but a friend "borrowed it" forever when he moved. I cannot express in words how happy I am, but I just woke up from playing Dragon Force for 24 hours straight and almost beating it. Whether you have or haven't played Dragon Force, do it NOW. Edit: Pics:
  12. That was an awesome video, if only store security cameras were better quality.
  13. I do too. I mean, when are we going to get rid of the fucking annoying load times if shitheads like this guys never do something about it? I've read of X360 games actually loading faster and working smoother than the ps3 counterpart, what the hell? I thought this generation load times could get lessened because the companies would include faster and more efficient reading devices. Alas, we are getting worse loads than in our old ps2's. This makes me sad. Unfortunately for your argument, Blu-ray actually has a much higher read speed than DVD, so a 4x BD drive is far greater than a 2x DVD player. Look it up on Wikipedia if you want (I'm too lazy), or just trust me. Still, even if it is faster the load times are going to be pretty high. Ps3 = Blu-Ray Drive 2x xbox360 = 12x dvd drive Blu-Ray Transfer speed = 36 Mbps DVD Transfer speed = 10 Mps Total: ps3's BR = 72 Mbps xbox 360 DVD = 120 Mbps Yeah, I am still curious why they couldn't bring the read speeds up; I remember back at CES 2002 they were showing off Blu-Ray, but I guess most if not all new media formats seem to have slower read speeds. I don't think it will matter too much though, since PS3 can cache and store things on it's built-in hard drive that comes with every console, so it is just up to the game developers to implement this usage.
  14. Trying to get Zeromus while all my characters are level 32. I managed to get him all the way down to a little less than 1/6 health and am so close to being able to beat him. Any tips?
  15. Well now selling the PS3 may not be worth it for some since they usually only seem to go from $200 to $400 over their price now, but this idea is nice: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Play-Station-3-EMPTY-BOX-ONLY_W0QQitemZ280050475643QQihZ018QQcategoryZ62054QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  16. If you are talking about Motor Storm then I have to say I had a somewhat different impression of it. The graphics looked insanely awesome apart from the bushes and stuff which looked added rather than natural, but the reflection mapping on the vehicles, the particle effects, and the clearness of it all was pretty damn amazing. There were some problems with anti-aliasing, and the environment I played in was somewhat drab, but it still looked insane. Also if you crash to hard into something your car explodes and you can see every part in the air, and then it does a freeze frame and does a matrix style effect around all the parts (really awesome). It may not be the best for the PS3, but I don't think the graphics can be easily dissed. Also, I thought the motion controlling was even better than the analog stick, and that it was really badass, but maybe you were playing another game. Also, everyone should see this game in action. Watch one of the gameplay videos on IGN. This is the actual gameplay, and I can't believe how close they were able to come to their E3 demo video (and this is a launch title!). http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/748/748488/vids_1.html
  17. Lol, while I was calling KBtoys to ask them when they were selling the PS3 online they had just put it up for sale, and the representative says it sold out in two minutes. I wouldn't have bought it there anyway since they have a retarded $1000 bundle pack that doesn't even include Resistance .
  18. Most of the people camping are resellers. Yeah, there are like 100,000 or so available in US I think, so I'm not going to be surprised if there's at least 10,000 of them up on ebay by the weekend. If I wasn't broke I would just get a Wii this weekend, but it looks like I'll have to wait awhile for that. 10,000? I'm willing to bet 50% of the launch or more are going to be ebayed. And for those who want confirmation on the Costco thing, here ya go (you need to get a forum membership to see but it's well worth it). Thank you for the tip Bahamut Anybody have a Costco membership card number I can use... Please? If not I will just have to sit and wait to see if KBtoys does anything, but Costco sounds like a good bet if I click fast (Just need a membership number) http://www.kbtoys.com/vgames/PLTPS3.html If not I guess it is back to waiting again
  19. I doubt it will be defective since I wouldn't expect Sony to screw up another console; there are currently only a few lemons in Japan. It really depends how much you care about the money, and if you will be able to afford another PS3 later. If you have a good income then selling it would be somewhat pointless. Of course I think the PS3 will be an awesome console, so I would keep it personally, but that is just me.
  20. Well I went to a target at 8:00 AM, and after a about five or six hours of waiting their I discovered there were only eight PS3 units at the target I went to and I happened to be number nine in line... I was actually number seven but two dicks were "reserving" spots for someone else who hadn't been there the whole day. Unfortunately the manager wouldn't do anything about it since the people made some retarded excuses saying that their cousin had to go to school; though I didn't expect the Target manager to do anything since Target sucks (Which is why I went there since I was much more likely to get one there and could have if I came the night before). Whatever I guess I have to wait. It doesn't matter too much, but it would have been nice to get one. I did however get to play the display model for about an hour and was really great (I played Motor Storm). I will tell you things I know now from having played it: -Really badass and extremely precise motion control (at least it was in the driving game I played; it looks like they put much more effort into making the motion controller good than I would have thought.) -The triggers on the back of the controller are even better than they look, I would say they are 98% as good as the triggers on the Xbox 360. -The D-pad is actually much better. It is much less slippery and hard than a Playstation 2 controller, and it has a nice slight texture on it that adheres your thumb to the pad. It may seem like a small difference to some, but I was impressed. -The game I played, Motor Storm had extremely awesome looking graphics, but it seemed to lack anti-aliasing which made things still pretty jaggy. I am guessing that this is the developers fault since I'm sure the PS3 can put up with a little bit of anti-aliasing. One thing that stood out in the game it the fact that when you crash, your vehicle explodes, and you see all of the parts in the air; then it freezes fram and does a matrix effect around every miniscule part, it was great. Anyhow, I wonder when the next shipment will be... January?
  21. I honestly don't see how Resistance's graphics are better then the ones in Gears of War. And that's my second biggest gripe with the machine. First is the price, which means I won't even get one until like 4 years after launch, but we've been through that. The second is that the main selling point of the machine is the fact their games look prettier then everyone else's. But so far, they look pretty much the same as some of the 360 games. The price difference is huge here, and their clear-cut advantage disappears when comparing certain games? The graphics aren't better than GOW, but GOW came in an entire year after the Xbox 360 was released. I really don't think any other Xbox 360 games compare in terms of graphics; though even if you did think so I would have to point out that this game stays at a solid 30 fps even with 40 player multiplayer. And, the power still left unharnessed on the PS3 is an insane amount; these are only launch games that are looking this awesome. You'd think with all that space they have they could afford some decent anti-aliasing. That does not, however, apply to Resistance. That game looks truly kick arse. To be honest, I would expect nothing less from a $600 console. Yeah, in those screens Lair seems to be suffering a little bit from jaggies, but the game isn't a launch title and they have plenty of time to fix that. Even if it did stay that way the the videos of the game make it look so awesomely fun that I must get it whenever it comes out (as long as it gets good reviews which I am pretty damn sure it will.). You should watch the developer interview though, it sound like the controls on the game are going to utilize the six axis controller VERY nicely. I'm so excited . Resistance, for example, uses 16GB I think. Wow, what makes it so huge though? I mean, it looks like an FPS on a PC and those use DVDs. Indeed. Even gargantuan fps like UT2k4 and farcry don't take that much, I smell inflation in those numbers. The game seems good and has tons of stuff, but I don't think they crammed so much different stuff to have to use 16 gb of space, even moreso by seeing in videos and images the same enemies over and over. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. http://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&id=34764 I haven't played the game so I don't know how all of this game so I don't know just how everything is utilized, but with 40 player multiplayer, massive environments, a 15 hour single player campaign, Insanely awesome normal mapping... etc I can see them using up around this much space; Though I really assume that much of the space was used up because they had the space and didn't feel like compressing things which is usually done with large DVD games. I'm pretty sure leaving it uncompressed also speeds up the game alot since the data doesn't need to be uncompressed, this may be one of the reasons why it the frame rate never hiccups throughout the entire game. Just speculation though.
  22. Yeah, or trying to say that it couldn't possibly look like that in-game. Also, I like the start of Resistance Review on IGN:
  23. Here is what IGN said about Resistance's frame rate:
