I know Ari has mentioned wanting to make some sort of submission software for you guys for a long while. He's pretty busy nowadays though, but I think he might still be willing to help if it was needed. Also that app we made too (or partially made).

New song is up! This one's called Super Anthropomorphic Space Turismo lol and is made by the awesome Velathnos. It's Turtles in Time w/ a hint of Final Fantasy VI organ! Enjoy! Writeup! Video! -
So I got it from someone on Youtube. It was really hard to find, but I got all the SFX from Turtles in Time (and I think some of these are from the arcade version?) Some are different from the SNES version. If anyone else needs high quality TMNT vox clips: http://www.songportal.org/katie/quickupload/05%20-%20SFX%20-%20Voices.mp3

More! RoeTaKa is back! He says: This is more of a filler song as I've been a little busy and haven't been able to think much about this series, so it's more coverish than the previous songs. However when I finished Max Payne 3 I got these Contra samples and just started to try and cover the song 'Tears' with them and it sounded pretty cool and that is what gave me the idea to do this series. You're lookin' at inspiration son! I promise the next one WILL be The Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim meets Secret of Evermore (someone got the connection before, have a british medal ). Alex Roe + Contra 3 + Max Payne = OMG Writeup and Download -
Happy Day to you!

Xavier Dang! This song is super chill and has a nice full, wet, slick sound! Gotta love that bass. I like how laid back this song is, it can grab your attention but it doesn't demand either. ALSO this is mv week because he has just had a song posted for SNESology Final Fantasy VI + Game of Thrones ftw! -

Xavier "mv" Dang decided to be clever and contribute a cover of the Game of Thrones intro w/ SNES Final Fantasy VI samples! The "Gau" cello has never been more appropriate! Click here for the writeup, and links! The video! -
There's a point where I think (and hope) it's acknowledged that the internet is this huge place. If you go tracking down (it sometimes seems like it) every negative comment that really shouldn't matter at this point w/ the mentality to "squish" it, it usually kinda backfires into shit storms like this. Huge posts like this are not helping. Can't you resolve your differences in private? Edit: I mean this in the nicest way possible. You're responding to one guy's difference of opinion on another forum on this forum. In a way it feels like an "official" response because of how it all started on Twitter. He's not even posting here. So I say, if it's important to correct him or discuss issues, then talk to him about it, instead of fronts like this which are obviously alienating and insulting, regardless of any sugar coating and "Oh we're bros dude" overtures. You may think that posting all of these corrections will help spread good information about OCR, but what I see is people outside of this reacting in 2 ways. 1. They will think that OCR does indeed deserve a reputation for drama. 2. They will believe what he says because of the way this has been handled (dramatically). There is no maliciousness to this post. THE END.

Newcomer William Kage has made a track! Here's the SNESology tumblr post all about it! DOWNLOAD INFILTRATE, ASSASSINATE HERE This song features the following soundsets: Earthbound, Yoshi’s Island, Killer Instinct, and Hyper Zone! -
Very nicely built atmosphere. I think one thing kinda glares (not what everyone else talking about)... The highhats... Or the initial ones... Just a little more velocity tempering could help them blend a tiny bit more, I know what you're going for w/ them but the water-sprinkler effect in some places just stood out to me. Also this song is very slow... It takes a long time to build... It's nicely done, peaceful... But it's missing something... It took a bit for me to figure out what, but I think it's an instrument or something that will keep it all cohesive as a package... It sectionizes too much I think... So to counter that, maybe pick out a synth lead (something real subdued) and have it playing throughout most of the song, however you want... It needs to be something distinctive that carries everything. I don't really know how to describe what I mean here, but maybe just experimenting w/ this idea, you can see what I mean. Also maybe the tempo overall is a LITTLE too slow... I don't think it could hurt to get a bit more pacing into the piece w/ a slight tempo alteration... And also maybe some rhythmic synths could help keep it from being sluggish (more than what you already have going) I agree about the acoustic guitar, out of place. Maybe some weird filtering on it (hate to say it) could help it sound more like a Metroid instrument... Also IMO you could certainly introduce guitar elements before this part, and that could be the "cohesive" instrument that you may be looking for. ANyway, just brainstorming some ideas for you. Good luck in however you approach this!

It's neither invite only or fully open at the moment. If you want to make something, you can ask either myself or Sam, though it's probably easier to get in touch w/ me right now. We do have a certain standard to adhere to (such as sticking as close to the SNES SMP as possible) and a bar on quality of music we are willing to post, we just ask that you put your most enthusiastic/fun/best foot forward... There is no competition, every artist we spotlight can bring something different to the table. We also have our own sample sets (not quite done yet) that we are sending out in private to artists who want to contribute. So, if anyone wants to contribute, PM me, and we can try to work something out. -

Nice source ;0 My biggest problem is things like bad notes. Some things seem kind of off w/ your note choices. It might be because you don't carry through w/ the resolve at around around :26, as it does in the original. (The lowest notes in the pads should be played a step down) ((you might be doing that, but if you are, raise the volume on that note a lot, it needs to be more prominent)) There's also seemingly a wrong note on the harp progression... I counted... the 14th note in. Pretty sure it happens again on the second harp phrase as well. When you bring your metroidy lead in, you have a lot of note dissonance on your second chord... The note the lead plays there is competing w/ the chord you use in the pads... I would consider which one you want the song to follow and make sure they are both following the same chord structure. Clashes like this can really rub the wrong way. Other than that, good luck and I wanna see how this turns out.
