The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Sag Ee Mana replied to BardicKnowledge's topic in General Discussion
Tchou tchou rocket... lalalalalala Sorry -
About Super Mario RPG, I think the hardest boss thing was a 'vine' (yeah yeah, it's not a boss ^^, only a ladder) for a friend, because Mario had to jump to one vine to another to go to a city in the clouds (forgot the name, 15 years later...) and he couldn't go in diagonal directions with his pad. So it was simply impossible to jump from vine to vine at a point. So he couldn't clear the game

Same for me. And about playing the Gameboy Color, I did it few months ago with Pokemon Trading Card Game And about it do you know if the TCG2 exists in english ? ^^'' I still like card games.

Gyakuten Kenji aka. Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosecutor
Sag Ee Mana replied to Sag Ee Mana's topic in General Discussion
Ha! Ha! Yes... And I remember a member's sig -
I wish you the best Meteo, Xavier ! Have Sun ! Err... Fun ! ... That's not funny. Sorry

Dunno if there has been a thread about this game but... Well the game comes in japanese in two months. Too bad it won't be in english too, but I believe it was only on the first trilogy, am I right ? So I'm pretty sure I'll order the game at the second it will possible to get it in US. But there's something in this game that surprises me : Miles can move on the screen. So before, we had to click on something to see if there is a special comment. Do you think the Miles character on screen will have the same purpose ? Like in an adventure game, we have information on what it'ts a front of him ? Oh maybe it'll be more. It's a DS, too, so seeing what Rockstar or others can do with a touch screen, maybe we'll be able to do more with our favourite prosecutor. So I'm hoping for the best for this game, and if fans have good informations about this game, I'd like to read that ^^

Yeah Play Asia, I like them ^^ (hop, basket) (Was on liksang before but everyone knows what happened to them huh?) Thank you for the link ! Your reply makes me realize an important thing : shmups exist now for the SCORE,like arcade games could you say, because there is a ranking (often "AAA" in my memories ) And Touhou is a BIG example for that because lots of elements are put there only for a "best score" purpose. Before the 'console/pc' games seemed to be created with more creativity (like RPG, etc etc... this is another discussion ^^), i.e. the programmers didn't aimed at first for a high score game but for an atmosphere, for a really well made game where each level is a specific world, where each music hits us, where each boss makes us shout "WOW !". OFF TOPIC : http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9g-49-fr-70-3aht.html <--- WOW

Just watched a youtube gameplay demo of "Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer". Wow, this game rocks ! This is PC ? I'll try to get it, it seems to be like in the same category than Gradius V. Otherwise, if you want to play good old school shmups, don't forget MAME emulator. There are many masterpieces there ! Ok ok, not legal etc etc but don't count on me to buy a big Neo Geo cartridge today

One thing is sure about avoiding obstacles: ZUN will never put anything else than enemies on the screen. I like a lot Ikaruga, Thunderforce V etc... Some example funny : R-Type Delta. Big fan of R-Type saga, I was really suprised to see that in the Delta, the ship CAN HIT the walls without being destroyed !!! So the Final did the same... I loved the maze level in R-Type 1 (6th), or the mess on the screen in the level after where a big thing comes slowly from the rear ! Also the Gradius biologic parts are awesome, and the asteroids or green lava levels in Gradius V are something strong too. So yes, avoiding stuff other than hundreds of bullets is really great. But, The Coop, something else bothers me now. ZUN seems to be the only one to look for new challenges in a shmup these days. Of course, there are the music based games or the remakes of the old games, but I'm still looking for something new. And this "bullet hell" system allows really interesting patterns. I advise you to watch on youtube some Lunatic or Extra play. This is not only hundreds of bullets on the screen. This is also a form of Art. Grids, fireworks, geometric forms of all kinds. Thanks to Schwaltzvald, I was playing again Mountain of Faith 20 minutes ago with the patch, the first boss has a really nice looking attack ondulating on the screen. You know, sometimes, when I played home, a friend was sitting on my side and says "wow nice pattern", "haha this is really beautiful"... WHILE I WAS SUFFERING xDDD and dying But anyway : IREM, I miss you ! (and others) [EDIT: yeah 647, a space-time post. In a Touhou thread. Don't try to understand, it's from my writings ^^] EDIT II : Hey I'm playing Zero Cho Aniki, it's really funny ! =D And I've never play any Cho Aniki so I'm happy then !
-
Hey you really made my day ! Cho Aniki has always been the weirdest thing I ever seen and wanted to try but I wasn't able to play it. Now I can
-
You're great man ^^ Do you have links or touhou wikia can help me find all of that ?
-
English patch ???? I didn't know, except for the menu my game is japanese :/ Thanks for the news ! Well you seem well informed so do you know if some of the last shmups have english patch ? Or even IaMP or SWR, the fighting games ? I only got a patch for IN, and even if it's only a shmup, I like ZUN work so I'd like to understand the dialogues
-
And I'm pretty sure there is already a touhou game with those, am I right ? (you know, like the touhou lemmings, mariari, the RTS one etc etc)

I am Sag Ee Mana and... I liked to cheat with the ACTION REPLAY when it was possible to search ourselves for the codes... It was on the SNES and a little on the PS. Ex : Playing Super Probotector (Contra) in the hardest mode with a friend and both being immortal was really fun. The Konami code was like a drug for me, so when Parodius came, I was trying to find the good "new" one : mirror method, or L/R instead of left/right, and I found it mwa ha ha ha I am evil !!! When I got a PC, the "save slate" for MAME and SNES emulation was the moment for me to finish all of these game I found too hard. I'm thinking about arcade game where we can put an extra coin during a boss fight in order to get it lose more life until we can kill him and see the credits. Otherwise, about things done without cheating, there are also the Playstation FF games... I've never beaten the 4th disc of FF8, never finished FF10, and you know what ? I've never finished myself FF7, even if I know 90% of the game, because it was a good friend of mine who played it and not me ^^''. But now, since 1 week, every evening, I'm playing it on my psp (yeah I converted the psx game) so one day I'll be able to say that I've beaten myself the game <3

I know I know, I have maybe 22 Go of touhou music, (just got a big torrent file with a lot inside). When I work on my writings, I listen to that huge flow of music, and even if there is good and bad stuff, there are so many genres that everybody can find what he likes. (click on my sig, there are some of the image albums) I love Wave, Elementas, dbu, golden city factory, etc etc etc... And I LOVE your youtube links =D So I understand you, the only thing is when we have to play many times the same level, if the music is addictive, it's better ! And please D:man, don't put this heads character thing on my screen >_< It's really AWFUL !!! (EDIT oh gno 641 posts I wanted to stop at 640, 64 is MY number T_T)

Reading that makes me nostalgic... You know, the first Touhou game I've played is Perfect Cherry Blossom. 'Shmup' fan for more than 20 years, I've realized I didn't know the bullet hell system well, more used with R-Type/Paro-Gradius/Darius/old NeoGeo shmups series, or maybe Raiden is a bullet hell ? Well it seems different for me. I played after Imperishable Night, my favourite one (the final battle VS Kaguya is awesome with the piano theme and the moon on the screen), and so on, downloading (and also buying on paletweb) all games including the three 'x.5' ones. I remember TH8-IN where we could 'continue' where we die, not at the beginning of the level. It was great because it's since frustrating to reach the boss after losing lifes during the level, again and again >_<... Other point : the music. I like Cirno theme, well many boss themes (and some from levels) in touhou games before 10. (the two street fighter games musics (7.5 and 10.5) are the BEST imo but there are not from ZUN, am I right ?) Mountain of Faith is not bad either, there is a good work (ZUN used weird sound sometimes, it's getting better). But I forgot Subterranean Animism tracks, oh maybe the greensleeves-like one hit me ^^ And now, about UFO, the first level theme seems to be a li'l nostalgic, and the mouse-girl boss one is also cool. But after, it's... so so. not bad, not good, I miss the catching tracks against Alice or... miss bunny the one in my sig (forgot the name xD)) You know, Schwaltzvald, maybe you'll find this stupid, but I'm better when I like the track played. During Kaguya fight in TH8, or Suika one in TH7.5, I was like INTO the music, and so... as Neo in Matrix, the game suddenly seems easier. Hum, sorry for the big post, thanks to OCR I can practice my english
-
Oh yes, you're right !!! I forgot that ! Well let's see this summer how the full game will be, I can't wait to fight against the "successor" of the Nuclear Girl (SA)!!! (and hopefully, this time, bombs used don't change the attack power)
-
No, you're not the only one ^^''' However, I don't think I like a lot the UFO system, because in a bullet hell, choosing 3 flying saucers of the same color or the 3 different ones is too much while we are avoiding hundreds of bullets on the screen (IMO). Maybe ZUN added that in order to disturb people who learn each pattern, each moment in the game and so could clear hardest modes... But I'm not at their level

THE TROUBLESHOOTER: RMVX game in progress. Teaser demo inside!
Sag Ee Mana replied to Archaon's topic in General Discussion
Hey Archaon ! I see "VX", so... Is it ok for you to use the limited tileset system of the VX version ? Or do you use a program allowing to switch between an illimited number of tilesets ? Because I'm on a project since few months, it becomes bigger and bigger and sometimes I'm disappointed with the ABCDE (E=free one) tileset. Downloading now your demo, I'm happy to try other people stuff. Yesterday, I was creating a piano system like in FFVII (Tifa), so we can play a lot of things, and if we play a specific theme, we get a reward ^^. That was interesting to make. Last day, it was the "steal" command... RPG Making is really awesome to do, even if sometimes I see the life itself like a world of switches xD Oh, about your screenshots, do you intend to make some fog maybe ? You should create a "fog" image and put twice your image in a large one. After you "slide" the image until it goes to the 2nd one, so the screen seems to "reset" the image. Then you loop it. If it's only night, the first screen seems to be a good idea too. Ok, let's try your game ! Wow, I love your ATB system ! We can even see the monsters HP at the top on the screen. Good stuff. Question : can we hide their life points if we want ? (ex : for a Boss !) That's really better than the one I use : (yeah I'm a frenchy) -
Forgot : Thank you for the link, the soundtrack is a must have. I'm nostalgic now >_<
-
Buy it people =D The game may be short, I've cleared it in 6-7 hours even trying again some levels in order to get more goos in the... (forgot the name, the place where you can build a mountain of goos) but for 20$ it was really interesting so for 5$, you don't even have to think one second ! As for Portal, I'm still looking for those funny puzzle games where you feel godd even if you're stucked. Cleared almost every lemmings game that has ever existed, World of Goo is for me a revelation. And the graphics, animation, music... Everything if good. This is World of Good =D

Crack the PSP in order to put on a SNES or GEN emulator + convert or download Playstation 1 game like Chrono Cross or Legend of Mana, and I think you will be happy for many years.

wip Mario UnderGround Theme Remix
Sag Ee Mana replied to Geeky Stoner's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Just an opinion, I heard the first version and this one and of course, it's better. I'd just want to say that during the 0:56-1:28 part, I thought you were building something. The music began to take form, some elements joined in, I was waiting for the "core" of your remix. But after, everything stops for something else. And weird imo. It lacks... consistency. As I like to eat good steak and play a big game in HD, I like to hear music that catch my ears. Make it lively, give it some fuel, don't be shy... Good luck, you have good ideas so you can do something ^^ -
- Link's Awakening : I went to school with bus (1 hour morning, same evening) and a friend lent me his gameboy. First time I play on a Gameboy. And the game tested was Link's Awakening. The world simply ceased to exist around me. And the music at the end made me CRY. - Secret of Mana : 1st year at University, after having bought the game in a hypermarket, I went to the library and began to read the manual. That game was a revelation to me. And the day I've killed the fire user tiger in the old woman mansion, I've raised my hands to the sky. - Secret of Mana 2 (Seiken Densetsu 3 of course) : ordered it online, payed with cash (didn't have a card)... Wow, my first Super Famicom game... and it was MANA. The sequel. Wow. A friend who loved mana like me came... We haven't slept a lot during many days. 240 hours of game in total. Too bad we could only be two players and not 3 like the first Mana. (another friend liked to play with us) Big moment ingame was when I've discovered how to get the red bars (last super attack). The game was in Japanese, ok ? And you know what ? We have managed to kill the final boss "Dragon" that has maybe 30000 hp without those red bars. Only with yellow ones xD. 3 hours against the boss. No more item left, no more magic, that was the game over in the next turn. And the Dragon died. A miracle happened =D - - - etc ? Of course, there has been other stuff, but I don't see now and a topic like this is interesting when we reply directly, with the heart.

I'm not a remixer (I write (french) stories) but my father lives with his wife in a world of music and they have a group. So I like however to come here to read Rozovian or others posts about your work, because people here respect what you do, with the condition you are really working on something. I post this because you're not the first person to be... surprised by constructive replies of ocr members, and not stupid posts as you feared. So keep on working seriously, and you'll be always welcome here Now I'm going to listen to your wip, ocremix is the source for my... inspiration ^^
