  1. it depends on the battery, then. i didn't know that about li batteries, it's been a LONG time since i've owned one =)
  2. i love that he adds in all those little triplet fills all over the place and yet still plays SO DEEP in the pocket. edit: THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID
  3. i really like both human clay and weathered, mainly because i learned to play bass to them.
  4. why do you have to be so good? edit: oh, man, the audio isn't quite synced up. it hurts my head.
  5. i agree with this. i hate most hip-hop but i enjoyed the album. i still quote the title song occasionally. i'd stick in lostprophets' album start something. i love every song on that album. singles that you know from it would be either "i don't know" (which is one of my all-time favorites) and "last train home" (which really isn't as good as the rest of the album). i also enjoyed finger eleven's self-titled debut album (you know "one thing", which doesn't sound ANYTHING like the rest of the album).
  6. common misconception: when a computer is plugged in, the battery is bypassed. in actuality, your battery is discharging and charging at the same time. take it out when you plug it in, stick it back in when you unplug. simple as that, and you'll get 2-3x as much battery life out of your system. also deep-charge it (drain it all the way and charge it) about once a month to keep all cells active.
  7. sorry for how long this took, but i'm updated now.
  8. soundtest is almost done, qk and sloopy owe me wips (sloopy's is coming soon). josh, get moving or someone's gonna claim your track! mokram, i'm assuming you got your thing from dafydd.
  9. nah, this was completely my fault...i had a bunch of old sound drivers installed from two windows installations ago (i generally do the repair installation rather than a full install) that were competing constantly and i just couldn't find the last pieces that were freaking the system out. so i wiped and reinstalled on a better hard drive with better read and write times, hence better performance. fl was all dicked up too because of a 3-gig switch i installed that didn't quite work right, so it was time to just start over. i copied out about 750 gigs onto a new drive and just wiped.
  10. that might be something that can be added to each song page. they're generated from a form, right? that'd be an easy fix to make. could we have it direct to a search thread created based on the name of the file or a tag that we put on it (like OCR1720 or something)?
  11. ah, awesome as usual. only thing i wanted to point out - i believe it's later in 7 that i discuss gigabytes vs. gigabits. i don't mention the difference in shorthand, though, i need to stick that in there.
  12. uh, seriously? you do realize that you asked me to do that right around when my system started to freeze every time i opened any program more intensive than thunderbird, right?
  13. well, considering that the p4 is technically two (or three, depending on how you look at celeron and DC cpu technology) generations old, YEAH, YOU'RE BEHIND. besides, that was from the age where you could get a 3.2ghz cpu with a 533mhz fsb. aka, severe throttling. i bought a 3.2ghz p4 a while back for sixty bucks, and it was unused.
  14. hey, aren't i supposed to record something for that? probably should get on that...i'll do it friday if i don't forget.
  15. bigger ones hurt my wrists after a while.
  16. that's what you get with a pentium 3 computer
  17. oh, yeah. when i reinstalled windows a little while ago i lost the ftp info, so i've gotta dig through my pm box and re-enter the info into coreftp.
  18. that should be fine. get to work! i'm looking forward to what you'll do.
  19. first gen is damn fat. second has all the capabilities of a phatty but has a better screen and weighs like 2/3rds as much. and it's likely to have a better battery, used.
  20. whoops, i meant speakers. monitor speakers. sorry, guys. i tend to shy away from headphones.
  21. sounds good, mokram. send any wips you've got to me. what track are you looking at? and don't worry if you only do one genre, it'll fit - it doesn't have to be this uber blend thing. goop, looking forward to it. thanks for getting some work done on it this weekend.
  22. again, CUDA would help a LOT with something this big. does anyone know if nvidia's current tech allows for encoding automation? if so, anyone with a decent video card could do all 1500+ remixes about a hundred times quicker than someone working with a normal system (or even a quad...hell, even a 4x4 doesn't have squat on a 200-series card, let alone my 9800gtx+)
  23. i'll do the menu music. i can do it relatively soon, too, if you can get in touch with me.
  24. so, under 200$ (unless there's a huge performance gain for going a little over)...what should i get? what's the best, most flat sound you can get?
