  1. w00t, new ep and a SLICK new look for the site. SO CUTE that ocr4-tan.
  2. Is the slick D'n'b snare break the main break from one of those classic DDR songs? Dead End or Dynamite Rave... can't remember which and can't seem to find a sample.
  3. Damn it! Vocal Writer is JUST what I want but it's mac only. Looks like I'm saving up for a friggin powerbook.
  4. I'm DYING for a good one. FL Studio's is ok for making individual notes/words... but I want something a little more like a full midi arrangment program only for voices. Example I've been looking for a little while to no avail. Can anyone help?
  5. No, that wasn't the mix in question. Also what politics are you talking about? Like 90% of shna's stuff in the last year passes the panel with almost universal and HIGH praising YES - that's even after his removal, he still gets ALL yes votes. Before attacking us and flat out calling us biased, do a bit of homework first, eh? This isn't the thread to get into such discussions (PM us privately if you wish). This thread is to discuss Mazedude's new mix specifically. Damn; thought that might've been the case. Sorry. I was pretty sure given the time frame... You're all back on your rockers again... ...for now...
  6. I was a big fan of this song before it became an OCR. It's the most 'giving-the-horns-while-headbanging' worthy mutated chiptune there ever was and maybe even will be. It's just pure unadulterated awesome. More than a chiptune; check. Now a few words about the chiptune/quality debate... I have to say; if the mix of Sam's that was rejected was his Dueling Consoles - (mirror) cover of the Secret Of Mana Boss Theme (which I think it is) the judges are finally off their rockers. Mazedude's was about 70% chiptune 30% mutation and Sam's was closer to 80-20... Is that the only thing that kept it from passing? Sadly, I know this is likely not the case. Politics, as much as I'd like to pretend they weren't a factor, must've been. I thought Dueling Consoles was, and I say this precautiously, his best work... The song captivated me so much I blogged SOLELY about it 'melting my brain through my ears' shortly after I first heard it. It's not short on arrangement, quality, originality, it's source, it's not repetitive, and it's filled with content. Keeping that mix hosted only on his much less visible angelfire site is a travesty. FLAT OUT: I think the fans of Shna that don't hear the track are missing out, and I would be suprised if fans of Shna weren't around for the duration of OCR. I really didn't want to pick any fights here, I just feel this particular track is worth defending. His Terra cover of late, while similarly creative, is undeniably much closer to 100% chiptune; this being denied I fully understand.
  7. Highly unlikely. I dont know to feel about this Do you mean to say he has no voice? But he has to talk! This will never work!
  8. Actually, Dave said he wants to start rotating the front page spotlights more frequently so that old projects can receive fresh attention. Ah. Cool. Makes sense.
  9. I don't want to add pressure... and I won't even try to put forward any ideas as to who should be the next co-host... but you totally can't cut me off now. I just got caught up and realized all I was missing. Plus it doesn't really make sense having the Doom Remix Project taking the OCR frontpage spotlight when it's so old.
  10. ^^^ Old url; here's the new one: http://lukewilliams.org/VG/darkreachessmw.zip
  11. Have I mentioned how much I want to choreograph something to this? Cause I TOTALLY do.
  12. Remixes, [GEN DISC] posts plz. OKAY YOU WIN (jill and i argued over this like crazy in my room ) *Shakes fist* DOESN'T PEABODY HAVE RULES!? Yeah, wingless, sad to see you go... although every episode was pretty much just him talking about how black he was. How long did that go on for? Like 5 minutes one time at least. Still, hosting something like that seems difficult; and losing wingless and Larry in the same month is almost too much to bear. Good luck to whomever has to fill those shoes. (MORE CANADIAN REPRESENTATION EH!!!)
  13. Gorgeous. I'm a fan of all things accoustic hitting this site and this is above and beyond what I originally expected. When it hit the ending I had to exclaim: "FREAKING right man!" and lunged for a re-play. A welcome addition to OCR.
  14. Software: FLStudio 5 Cool Edit 2.1 Audacity (Formerly) Audiomulch (and I miss it like crazy) Sawcutter BeRoTracker (hopefully one day I'll even understand it too...) TapTempo Weird Metronome A Whack of core VSTs Gear: Crate CMX32 Mixing Board Yamaha P60 1 SM57 Mike 1 Shure RS25 Mike Koss UR-18 Headphones Some cables too... omgwtf. Nylon String Accoustic Guitar my dad pieced together & Capo Tape Deck Radio Stuff I'd want to add: Vinyl Record Player Some kind of external synth toy Small Concertina or Accordian
  15. Noticable. I aproove. The pop hit of spring 2006. Will the April 1st meet-up provide the next?
  16. Y hello thar GREAT SONG! Beautiful engaging melody that is extremely well mixed. Arranged very comfortably, like a gently painted easter egg laying preciously on soft plastic grass in a whicker basket. I'm on my fourth re-listen in a row. ... Yeah, not the best analogy. Still, too bad I didn't remember the source very well; guess it's just been too long. A triumph DS; one of your best imo.
  17. As soon as I started d/ling my first OCR's, it wasn't long before I hit po!, downloaded all of his stuff, and was amazed. But looking at the date of his last submission was scary. Was he never to come back? po!, this piece is tremendous; and your last two with Morse have been nothing short of spectacular. Don't underestimate how valued your mixes are around here. Arrangement is fun and light, guitar work is impressive, your violin again is impressive and is ALWAYS welcome. U R so hot.
  18. Behold; the most superior avatar. I think it should have it's own section with any/all interpretations in it.
  19. I like Canada. And yes, an astoundingly beautiful mix from the wingless one. Wingless piano is > all.
  20. So... I'm guessing all of that kind of stuff should be pm'ed then? Because information like that is all too useful in actually getting people to know what you're talking about sometimes.
  21. Eeep. Sorry for hiding. I won't have anything for a little bit but I am still interested in going through with my mix.
  22. Part of what makes this song so cool is that if you know zircon and/or tefnek's styles, it's a delightful fusion of both. Much like Clairvoyant Elegy is a good fusion of TO's & Bladiator's styles. Very cool little song. Collabs always rock, ninja turtles rock, music rocks, rocks rock... rock.
