FLMC - FruityLoops Music Competion 8: Kirby's Block Ball
DDRKirby(ISQ) replied to Gollgagh's topic in Competitions
yeah. I can run it without ASIO too, actually. Though in both cases I need to tweak the buffer size. Using the "smart disable for all plugins" macro can help too. You should be glad that Prophecy rendered "TheBlob" to wav file. Look at the project file he made for that O_o...insane... I've got an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2.40 GHz with 2GB of ram running 32-bit Vista. And a piece-o-crap integrated sound card. -

Morphine is not included with all versions FL Studio. Toxic is not included with all versions of FL Studio. Synth1 is not included with all versions of FL Studio. Sytrus is not included with all versions of FL Studio. get the picture? FL Studio Producer edition comes with DEMO versions of Sytrus/Toxic/etc. and that means you CAN'T SAVE ANY PROJECTS CONTAINING THEM. phail. 3xOsc is fine. Beepmap is fine. Vibrator allows you to generate vibrations if you have a force feedback joystick/etc. sounds like everything id want in a synth. me <3 3xOsc. of course, 10 3xOscs are always more fun than 1... also, epic win using 3xOsc -
music theory questions? ask here
DDRKirby(ISQ) replied to prophetik music's topic in Music Composition & Production
Well, I can always get it right =eventually=, with no aid, if I think about it enough. I'm just not always good enough to be able to do it in a snap (though sometimes I am). Still, good suggestions from everyone, I'll think about those. -
You can also change the properties of the peak controller instead of Inverting the signal (just raise the "base" value and decrease the "volume" until it's negative). Just two different ways of achieving the exact same thing.

straying a tiny bit off the main focus here, but what kind of things can I do to improve my perfect pitch? I wasn't born with it and I never had any training in it or anything, I just noticed that I had it at one point. It's not spot-on though, and sometimes it takes me a bit to translate the sound to notes, especially if its with unfamiliar timbres of sound (i.e. instruments that I don't hear all the time). I've just been trying to pick out notes whenever I go to recitals and whatnot, or when I hear random stuff like car horns. Is there anything else I could be randomly doing? Also, any tips for hearing chords? They're always a pain...I guess maybe if I learned how each =type= of chord sounded (or for 2-note chords, I guess that would be getting more familiar with how the different -intervals- sound like) then it would be easier, since I could just find the base note or whatever, and then the rest of the chord would fall into place. Whereas right now it's more like I'm trying to discern each note in the chord, =then= put them together and figure out what it is. -
Crescendos and decrescendos?
DDRKirby(ISQ) replied to Hausdog's topic in Music Composition & Production
for changing the volume of a single note as it's being played, use a portamento to the same note, but with a different velocity. the previously mentioned method works too, depending on what you wanna do. -

i'm bad at remixes. this is the only thing preventing me from making a half-decent mix. Mega Man 3 Top Man Spun Wild was me getting lucky. -
have you looked at this guide? granted, you're probably looking for more specific advice considering your budget...

Anyway to type in a value in VST parameter
DDRKirby(ISQ) replied to Lunahorum's topic in Music Composition & Production
yea, works for fruity plugins. Won't always do it for vsts, though--I know some vsts use ctrl+click to reset the knob to default. If you REALLY wanted to get creative, you could link the knob to a fruity formula controller and edit it that way o_o; -

not sure. FL can't interpret the actual VST interface so it doesn't know that whatever knob you're turning corresponds to dB, so the best it can do is give you the %. IIRC some VSTs actually have an option where you can click on the value of a knob to enter it in manually. In other words, I'm fairly sure you're out of luck. The event editor would probably be the option giving you the most precision, despite the fact that it won't give you a dB representation (though if you really, really wanted, you could do the math yourself...) -
Does anyone happen to have the samples that were included in older versions of FL (like FL 4, FL 3.56)? I saved all the old project files but I managed to misplace the samples =(. Seems like I'm looking for a "D_*****" set of samples (see below). Here's some of the specific files I'm looking for: D_Shaker.wav D_Kick*.wav D_Snare*.wav D_Tambhit.wav D_Hat*.wav I just want to listen to the older demo songs in all their glory

we're not allowed to use the Packs->Extra Samples that are copied from the CD, right? (I think they're from the "generic sample CD") -
