In MMOs I'll generally play a female character, either because they're not as played (orc and troll chick in WoW for example) or simply because they got more interesting animations than their male counterpart (female UD melee!). It's rarely because I'm a girl irl. I also prefer playing a non-human whenever possible (which is why Horde > Alliance to me). For games in general, I don't really care.

Yeah I know how it is. I'm not as good as many of you but I try my best not to feed the other team. Even in pugs the same can happen; if one or two in your team just aren't giving a damn about teamwork the chances of your faces getting wtfpwnt increase almost exponentially. I'm still busy with school, I think I'll wait for the holiday season to play again.

Like I said a few times, we're only 3 in my room. I have no idea if there'll be more or not, but you should ask starla on IRC or something to know. I'll be there for the New Year par-tay <3

I'm rather busy with school so it doesn't bother me all that much. Still raiding 2 nights/week for ToGC progression on my druid. I found myself playing Pokemon Platinum instead whenever I got free time.

Totally agree on Troddlers and Sword of Vermillion. Glad to see I'm not alone in listening to original music files from games no one ever heard of. I have a good list of those but they're on my computer (in class atm). I'll post later. The game doesn't have to be steampunk-ish for it to work with the theme, you can easily adapt one to the other and vice versa.

That Steampunk Mario is pure awesome. When I think Steampunk, there are images of Sherlock Holmes vs M in my head. A good inspiration would be Captain Sky and the World of Tomorrow, for example. I love the whole thing, the elements of the era and such. But I've never been good at drawing machinery. I'll see... Robo from CT is so Steampunk-able (not picking that though)

Oh wow. Well I still got 2 beta invites too in the eventuality that you run out o_O I haven't asked for the campus server tech to unblock HoN yet, but for this week it's more to keep me away from any distraction. I have 2 projects to hand in before the end of the week and 1 or 2 more next week.

All of the above. I think I was rather tired/not fully there when I wrote this and I was also answering people in IRC. Multitasking when tired gives out interesting results with me.... lol

I like posts like this, it's really helpful for me since I don't know which items I should get on most heroes but only the 2-3 I'm most confortable with. That kinda slows me on learning how to use every hero efficiently.

A friend of mine today showed up at school dressed up as Vince the infomercial guy. Slap Chop, Graty, Shamwow, Slap Chop apron, headset and even the haircut! He carried his iPod shuffle around with a mini speaker too for the voice (including Slap Chop remix) He's such a nerd <3

I thought more people would expect to be trolled on the internet. Then there are people who completely fail at giving advices and just end up sounding like total jerks. Some people just suck at socializing and the internet is of no help on that. There isn't a game where people will be that much nicer or mean than other games. What would mainly affect our perception on this is partly luck (or bad luck) with our encounters and the amount of people that play the game (meaning bigger chance of crossing X type of person). Or you can simply blame the US for being terrible at making up non-asshole communities ;P

I'm almost done! <3 'til now I'm very happy of how it turned out. Edit: SUBMITTEDEDED!

It feels very similar to Strand of the Ancient where if/when you lose one of the elements that helped defend yourself, it's gone for good and you win the game when the other team's relic (Shrine or Sacrificial altar) has been destroyed. Or if they concede. It's more team and skill based though, whereas WoW can end up being more gear-related (resilience) generally. If you enjoy WoW's PvP aspect but wish it could be/feel more balanced, you really should try HoN.
