  1. Alright, here's the beginning of a WIP on the Forest stage from Tetris Attack. I just started it today so it's short, but feedback can always help. The second part of the song is still way under progress, I really only have the bass recorded for that part, but production advice / etc on the whole thing would be awesome. Thanks for listening! NEW: Another update! I completely re-did the mixing, it's much much nicer now. I also re-recorded the sloppy parts and generally made it much more pleasent to listen to. 2. I did this as practice for playing / singing / mixing, so lets see how this came out. It's a cover of Give It All by Rise Against, please listen and give feedback. Thanks! NEW:
  3. Why hello there fellow NM OCR-er! I'm down in the 575, since they decided to give Sock-a-ro a new area code. I go to NMT, so, yeah. Post.
  4. Something Awful just has a board dedicated to it, where you can mark a thread as selling or buying. It works really well, that could work here too.
  5. Can you add a want for F-Zero GX?
  6. I'm not near them right now, so I'll just take them off for the moment. Thanks!

  8. Alright, unless there are some major issues I didn't notice, this is the final version of the song. Not sure if I'll submit it or not, but thanks everyone for the comments! Hopefully it's a song people can enjoy. Feel free to still leave feedback, I'd love to hear it!
  9. Ooh, I like. It sounds great right off the bat, but the drums get repetitive fast in their non-sega sound. They're also a bit too reverb-y, I think. I know you're just remaking the song, but if you switch it up some, it could be pretty awesome. Good job either way, I'd like to hear more.
  10. Definitely seconding what was said above about it being repetitive. I'd say you could cut the intro down a bit and make the drums come in at the same time as the orchestral hit thing. Other than that, it needs more going on, a new melody, the rest of the theme, another instrument during a lot of parts. I don't think I really hear more than 3 or 4 instruments doing anything at the same time until the very end. The sliced drums near the end are a great start, mix things up like that throughout the song. No real mixing issues that I hear, but since there isn't a lot going on, it's hard to say. Keep at it, this has potential.
  11. Wow, this is a fantastic song, I love the style and arrangement. It works very well. My only complaint is that the low end seems a little muddy. The double bass takes up a lot of that space, but I wouldn't take away from that, I'd just take a tiny bit of low end off of some of the other instruments that come near it. Maybe the low end is too compressed? I'm not entirely sure how to fix it, and it's really just a nitpick, it's hardly a major flaw. This is wonderful to listen to. Good job!
  12. I put a ton of focus on mixing everything very carefully and making each element stand out. I also adjusted the dynamics of the song a bit. Thanks for listening and tell me what you think!
  13. Re-recorded the whole thing, much better playing and guitar tones this time. Please listen and leave feedback!
  14. NEW: Alrighty, I updated a bunch, check it out! Added a new section, refined some parts. Next iteration will probably have a better intro to round it out. Thoughts?
  15. FINAL: Just thought I'd update one more time with my final version: Polished up a lot here and there. Just submitted it today, wish me luck! Thanks everyone for the comments! Hopefully it's a song people can enjoy. Feel free to still leave feedback, I'd love to hear it! OLD: http://tindeck.com/listen/cxzh I put a ton of focus on mixing everything very carefully and making each element stand out. I also adjusted the dynamics of the song a bit. Thanks for listening and tell me what you think! http://tindeck.com/listen/pxnv Re-recorded the whole thing, much better playing and guitar tones this time. Please listen and leave feedback! http://tindeck.com/listen/mqbq Updated a bunch, check it out! http://tindeck.com/listen/ymop I did a mix of this a long time ago, but I figured I'd give it another go from scratch. I like how it's coming along, and would love to get some constructive criticism. Thoughts?
  16. So I'm looking to sell my bass, it's a late 90's 4 string Jackson. It has a 24 fret neck and Duncan Designed active pickups. I've used this for the past semester as my performance bass and it worked great. I'm not sure how much to ask for it, so if anyone is interested, just make me an offer (Don't worry if you think it's too low, offer anyways) and we'll see. I'm in New Mexico, to give you an idea for shipping. Here are a few pictures: I don't have a picture of the headstock offhand, but as soon as I can take a picture of it I will. Anyone interested? (Sorry if this is the wrong board, I didn't know where to post this. Feel free to move it if need be)
  17. New version, gave the brass a lot more oomph, also changed up a few other things. The end is tacked on just so it doesn't cut off. Next I'm going to play around with some different arrangement ideas.
  18. Guitar = Wah'd Feedback is appreciated as always!
  19. NEW: OLD: Something I'm working on, criticism is always appreciated!
  20. I might be interested in Haunted Chase, I'm putting together a WIP now. I'm doing it as a swing song, I'll send a WIP soon to audition.
  21. In order to add instruments, open up a channel's effects chain and click on the "Instruments" tab on the left. Then put a midi item on that track and you should be good to go.
  22. Thought I'd come in here and post the first video from the new build of Isolation: Not too much to say at the moment, sorry for the terrible quality, I'm new to this whole screen capturing thing, hehe.
  23. Yeah, music help could be awesome. We can talk about it once I get a thread going, but I'd like to involve some OCRers with the soundtrack.
  24. Ha, wow, people remember it! Funny this came up now, because I've actually been working on it again in the past few weeks. It's coming along excellently; I'm using Game Maker this time around instead of C, and I've already gotten further into the project than the final build of the old version. It's just a standalone game that plays like the 2D Metroids, it's not a remake or anything. Prophecy isn't helping anymore, but I've had a lot more practice in both programming and composition, so we'll see how that goes. I'll make a thread about it here when I get to the point where I actually want to show other people. Without getting too far into it, I've already got flamethrower and gravity grenades done, along with a functioning ecosystem (creatures get hungry, sleep, etc) and day / night cycles.
  25. Definitely Super Metroid. My best time is 0:41, but I'm a bit rusty now.
