  1. The 99's-01's are locked up in an old folks home somewhere in Nebraska... dreaming of Jell-O, and wondering why they haven't had any visitors in a while.
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ugoff There are the details about the character. OCRs bit came about when Weirdboyscott created an alternate account and began randomly posting "Please, I am Ugoff." in various threads, with a picture of the Ugoff character in that account's sig area. That phrase was all that was ever posted by that alt. That accounte was axed when alt accounts became a big no-no here, and thus the legacy ended.
  3. This should be universally called "volleyboobs".
  4. All right. I heard back from DarkeSword, and was given the go ahead... http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Lost_In_Translation/After_Burner_II Right there, you'll find some of the music from After Burner (arcade and Saturn), and After Burner II (arcade, Saturn, and Saturn arranged) in ogg format, taken straight from the games. If you right click on the links, you can download the music tracks if you're not up for listening to them in your browser. And if you want the versions with the extra melodies, go to the arranged tracks.
  5. The website I don't know if I post (I've PMed DS) has the arranged version for the Saturn, which features that melody. In the meantime, there's this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAsqQ94N9MU&feature=related S.S.T. Band playing the song live, melody included.
  6. I do indeed remember that. But I've always found the Sega CD AB III to have botched the original tunes. They just didn't have the same edge. However, I found the perfect site that features the music from After Burner (arcade and Saturn) and After Burner II (arcade, Saturn, Saturn arranged) recorded in ogg format. But I'm pretty sure I can't post the link. The music is ripped right from the games in question. If it was just links to recordings from the arcade games, I'd post it. But since the Saturn versions are on there... If a mod would like to clear this up, it would be nice. Otherwise, if anyone's interested in the link, PM me.
  7. Why not just click the YouTube link I provided for the very song I spoke of? Or are you doing something with the song yourself? REGARDLESS... if you so choose to give an MP3, I'm sure others would rejoice. Or they'd just perk and eyebrow and go to another thread. Either way, upload that funky music white boy.
  8. Yep. A song called "After Burner" in After Burner II, that was remixed for After Burner III. The Count would not be laughing. He'd be puzzled asking, "Vat tha fuck? Ah ah ah ah ahhhhhh."
  9. Maybe we should condense all the "I quit" threads into one after a day like we did the birthday threads. It'll keep the forums from being littered with them as the judges continue dropping like flies.
  10. Well no wonder you're not getting much attention on this request. You posted that horrid After Burner III version of the classic "After Burner" song. You're probably scaring people off. Let's fix that... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79poPPkxAYk&fmt=18
  11. Choosing isn't the issue, it's the requirements. OCR quality (or borderline "NO" quality for some of them) passed me by over five years ago unfortunately, so my joining a project like this, or DQ, more or less amounts to just tying up a song. It doesn't bother me much overall. It's only when the project is for a franchise I've played for a long time and enjoyed, that I go, "Aw maaaaan". It's gonna suck when a Castlevania project comes along... or God forbid, Thunder Force
  12. Oy vey. Three projects I wish I could take part in. First the Dragon Quest one, then the bosses one, now this one. No fair
  13. Been a while since I read this thread... I believe that's Sandor from Vay.
  14. Those would be considered arena shmups, which are a sort of sub-genre of the shmup world. However, the 3D aspect (over the shoulder view) kind of pushes it out of that genre for purists.
  15. My own random playlist, which is currently on Twisted Sister, "We're Not Gonna Take It". Edit: That fast, onto "Hell March 2".
  16. 110MB. 3,000MB of space, and 300,000MB of bandwidth per month. The max file size upload is 8MB, you can use MySQL stuff, and ftp is available.
  17. You could try either xthost, 110mb, or webng. Both xthost and 110mb have no ads, but you can't hotlink to anything on 110mb unless you upgrade from a free account. However, webng had mandatory ads.
  18. I don't recall saying you're wrong, EC. I'm saying how it sounds to me. But then again, I don't own the game, I've never played it, and I don't intend to rush out and buy it. So there's really nothing lost, but my point still stands.
  19. Those lines strike me as the typical hyperbolic language console makers continue to use. Bragging about how many polygons their machine can push (which is always a lie), how much of this or that it'll have (yet doesn't have half what they said it would when it's released)... things like that. As someone suggested, it could be a joke on what another company said (Sega or Sony). Or, it could be an inside joke about what someone in Nintendo said in a "private" conversation before anything public was released about the Ultra/N64.
  20. Good thing I signed up then. I haven't been there for quite a while, but...
