Sorry for the delay. The topic reply notification must have been in another part of the world to have taken so long to arrive. It seems there's a new bug with DOSBox .73. In order to install GUS, you need to go into your config file and change the Sound Blaster section to read like this... sbtype=none sbbase=220 irq=7 dma=1 hdma=5 sbmixer=true oplmode=auto oplemu=default oplrate=22050 Save the change, then it should install fine. Once it's done, you can (in theory) re-enable the Sound Blaster section by putting it back to "sb16" for "sbtype".

What the label is doing makes perfect sense. If they're going to potentially agree to sell your album, why would they want someone else selling it before they do? Or you selling it yourself (cutting them out of any profits)? Yes, I know these days there's iTunes and all that which sell albums that were released by a given label. But if you look, you'll see the label is credited. This likely means they got a little piece of the proverbial pie in some form or fashion by allowing/getting iTunes to sell the album. I may be very wrong, but that's how it seems to me. Someone please correct me if I'm off.

It's a Nintendo system. Getting the price to drop is like asking Square-Enix to quit with the FF game barrage. It isn't going to happen I was about to suggest trying Half.com, but don't bother. Their prices are much the same as what you've found... unless you want to buy a broken one for $60.

This may not be 4chan, but we've both seen threads crash and burn with extreme prejudice. Plus, back in the old days, anthro art and artists were at least tolerated to some degree. But that changed after a few years (Gerbilfat was made in part because of the attitude shift). And really, there hasn't been much in the way of anthro art or artists ever since on OCR (or at least, it's not nearly as prevalent as it once was). But, I went ahead and gave it shot, and added some new images as well. Here's hoping.

It's funny you mention that. The reason I wrote that story was because there were some comments in Razor-man's furry thread that all anthro art was, was a means to make screwing an animal seem more acceptable... that all the artists and writers couldn't keep from centering their work around the concept of sex. At the time, I wasn't very familiar with the fandom (I'm still not really), and as you said, there was porn related images aplenty (Bernal got posted a lot, as did Dr. Comet's... um... weirder, stuff). I thought, Huh. Well, then I guess someone should write a story that has anthros with no sex, no nudity, and no slinky outfits. So, I wrote that story of mine, and since I had been working on several stories that were serious and horror-like, I went with a humorous adventure tale. The rough draft is 112 pages, and I haven't touched it since I originally finished it years ago. But with these character redesigns going on, I may just do that as a means of taking a break from my trilogy. Because some of it is good art. Images like the second, seventh and eight ones I posted show a lot of technical skill, and the ninth one displays a great sense of mood and lighting. Just because they focus on an anthro character, doesn't diminish those traits (IMHO mind you). Yes, there's a LOT of porn in the genre. No one in their right mind would argue that fact. But there are some wonderful works that have nothing sexual about them, and some that feature nudes or "romantic"/"cute" scenes (i.e. no one's fucking) that are also well done either on a technical or mood front. I guess as an artist and illustrator, I don't see how the writing off of the entire genre is warranted because of a portion of it (even if it is a sizable portion). I mean, if the characters in the images I posted were fully human, people would be complementing the artists left and right on their skill. But since they're anthro, suddenly all the qualities vanish and it's solely about masturbating to animals? That makes no sense to me. By the way Timber, you're Photobucket link's dead.

It's not rage, it's honest bewilderment. Perhaps it's because I grew up watching Looney Tunes, Swat Katz, some TMNT, and what have you. Perhaps it's because I've always been a huge fan of the werewolf concept (and written a number of long, novella and short stories with them in it). But I just don't see the issue. Hell, I have a story I wrote (a rather long one) where every character is an anthro, and I designed all the major characters. It was fun, and it fit since it was a more light-hearted tale. To me, it was simply another aspect of character creation, allowing you to go in a different direction than what's generally available for purely human or animal characters. In fact, I've been working on redesigning my characters for that story (along with those in the trilogy I've spoken about before) because I've gotten better at character design. As I said, I can understand people being weirded out by seeing a half human, half animal having an orgasm, or fucking/sucking something. But to get the same reaction from simply drawing or liking the design and result of someone's non-sexual anthro work honestly puzzles me. It's a question I'd love an answer to, and perhaps back in the day with we had a furry thread, it could have been asked. But nowadays? I don't think getting an honest answer without flames all around is going to happen.

You know, I've repeatedly wanted to make a thread asking about how liking the way anthro art like this, this, this, this or this turned out, equates to fucking in fur suits, wanting to fuck animals, or just generally finding the artwork to be disgusting because it's anthro. I mean, I understand that some people being weirded out by the sploogey stuff from Bernal or Dr. Comet, but even simple nudity like this, this, this or this (I love how strongly mood comes across), or poses like this or this that may or may not have nudity (yet no splooge, or spreading and what have you) get the same reaction. Somehow the quality of the work vanishes, and it becomes just about "OMG AMINAL FUKER!". It's always puzzled me, but I know such a thread would be locked in a heartbeat by getting thrown wildly off course within a page. But... seriously, what the fuck? What's the big deal about half human, half animal characters?
