  1. I still just think it's fucking awesome that another Japanese doujin guy submitted to OCR. Maybe this will encourage others to follow ????? I love the soundscape in this remix. Groovy. A little sparser than I'd like at times, but the acoustic break (fake or not) completely makes up for any shortcomings. Make sure to check out more of his tunes at http://ryolion.net/. He has a particularly shredding version of the classic Green Greens theme too. =O
  2. Is this the first time a husband and wife team have made a remix? Back to the Place I Once Knew by Prophecy and Prophetess is the closest I can think of. Nice job making Shadow of the Colossus listenable, by the way.
  3. I agree strongly. Wait, I was listening to Motavian Battlefield. Sorry, my bad. Okay, after further review, it appears this mix has a lot of "ph4t b33tz," has a "killer" organ "solo," and overall "kicks" a large amount of "ass."
  4. Music sounds like a reject from Excite Truck. (which has fucking awesome music by the way)
  5. Is there any particular reason that all the Meteos avatars are going by their Japanese names instead of the English ones (like "Byuboom" instead of "Bavoom")? Besides ZOMGZ JAPAN R SUPARCOOLS and all.
  6. Thought about hitting up zirc and/or pixie and asking how they did interviews?
  7. He's still banned. Was there a time when his posts were blocked? I don't remember ever not being able to see his posts. He doesn't appear in the members list, though.
  8. loooooooool blog comments censorship FREE THE COMMENTS BOX, OJI
  9. I thought this thread was pruned ages ago. Legendary. Now, what exactly is your definition of "respected member of the community"? I've been thinking about different sets of criteria, and thus far I haven't fallen into any of them.
  10. In Search of the Holy Sword is the best track from FFA. I've been waiting ages for a mix of it to hit OCR. This is downright beautiful. Perhaps quite a bit more liberal than I'd like, since I love the melody of the original, but once I stopped trying to pick out every fragment of melody, the whole thing came together. And that's when 3:27 hit. Easy connection with the source just came down like a hammer. Total love. <3
  11. Could the album description be any more self-aggrandizing? I mean, when I read it out loud, I can literally hear you masturbating in the background. (also, buying so fast)
  12. sadorf and I already invented this technique. Get your own. Heard this in MP3 form already, but the video ups the awesome factor because there's nothing cooler than watching people in uniform play accordions. This ought to whet my appetite until Ancient Library Polka is finally finished.
  13. Man, like two thousand new Touhou arranges come out every second in Japan, but covers by Westerners have been conspicuously absent. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because 99% of the songs sound exactly the same. This remix is really good, though. Gave the song actual depth. Short but sweet.
  14. Baba Yetu is godly. This one might turn out pretty well.
  15. is dat sum galbadia hotel Don't tell me you guys downloaded some ~>illegal<~ music to check the source tune during the meetup. And I thought these were wholesome, family-fun affairs.
  16. This project will fail so hard if it doesn't have Funky Monkey Love as the tender emotional song between the protagonist and his love interest and Music of My Groin as the thrillingly epic climax.
  17. The amount of unrecognition of the main theme from Bubble Bobble distresses me greatly. /lick Skrypnyk
  18. This might be the greatest remix I've ever heard. FINISH NAO
  19. This one was a good one. Not as good as EA ReMix (what is), but yeah, people got ticked at that one too. Good times.
  20. I would like to point out that it is still April Fools' Day in zircon's time zone, and as such all of this is completely incorrect (no matter how clever the Dhsu/JJT thing was. In fact, I made every single remix, as well as the website. And Suzu and Snapple really did quit. THE LOCKDOWN IS COMING
  21. Don't joke about this sort of thing. Suzu finished his remix for the FF7 project a few days ago, and he was crowing in #ocremix about how it was the best song he ever made and he was surprised and proud of the fact that he actually managed to finish a song. And then, WHOOMPH. Not only does a secret project he was never invited to drop, but the old project in which he put so much time and effort was cancelled. From #ocremix: [05:01am] SnappleMan: Joke? [05:01am] SnappleMan: Why would I joke abouyt something this serious? [05:01am] SnappleMan: It's not we didn't fucking know about the project. [05:01am] SnappleMan: We were waiting to be invited. [05:02am] SnappleMan: Zircon himself assured me a spot on it. [05:02am] SnappleMan: Then they go and release earlier than planned? [05:02am] SnappleMan: Fuck them. [05:02am] RamaServ: Plus they canceled the FF7 project, AFTER suzu finally finished his song [05:02am] RamaServ: he's pretty peeved about that apparetnly [05:02am] SnappleMan: Wouldn't you be? [05:03am] SnappleMan: I'm still working on my FF7 song regardless As much as I think Suzu and Snapple are infantile sacks of smegma who think the idea of good remixing is slapping MIDI-ripped guitar peacockery on drumloops, they got serious nigger cock in the ass from zircon and crew. With OCR and its elitist, political maneuvering bullshit, VGMix never going to be up, and no one giving a rat's ass about OUS any more, The Lockdown might be the only place worth giving a damn about.
  22. The best part of EA ReMix was Pigskin Power. There's a U.S. site as well at http://www.sega.com/gamesite/marioandsonic/index.php. COMING HOLIDAY 2007
  23. Yes. YES Unlike that "Liontamer" guy (whoever he may be), Israfel actually managed to project at least some musical knowledge (okay, a lot) while judging. And of course I love his music with mouth. :hapybirfday:
  24. I own this soundtrack. Awesome, awesome music, although I can definitely see why there haven't been more remixes of it, from both an obscurity and accessibility viewpoint. Definitely worth checking out. In order to make this post contain more content than just soundtrack pimpage, this remix is pretty sweet too. That might be because I like the sources so much, though, but groove bias, c'mon.
