  1. That fall off the rings, made me feel a little sick to see it. I mean, not only did it probably do a nasty number on his shoulder, but the way he landed looked rather painful too even with padding.
  2. Well I don't have a camera, even if I could though I don't really relish the idea of prettying up a picture with a touch pad using software I've never used before. I don't really find taking pictures of art rather than scanning it to be optimal either.
  3. Maco, try reading the article again, and maybe you'll realize that the bit you just quoted isn't a source, but a commentary on some of the responses to the fake fireworks. I didn't get to see anything on the Olympics today, but it sounds like sad times for the gymnastics side of thing whether it would have made a difference or not. As far as Phelps goes, it's awesome that he's an amazing swimmer and all, but I'm getting a little tired of hearing about him, it's practically all the commentary people are talking about during swimming. I think I've heard comment on his "wingspan" or his shot at 8 medals two-three times every night I've turned the tv on. Edit: Also, ARG to the more interesting events being on a live stream that doesn't work for anything but intel macs. >( I hope I can find that stuff easily later on when I'm back on my PC.
  4. Because I can't scan the bloody thing till I get home on the 15th. Then I have to ink/color/give it a background and possibly a foreground.
  5. Man, where are you guys seeing the fencing? The only things I've seen on the TV here is Swimming/Gymnastics/Volleyball/Diving. (not that I don't like those events, Gymnastics has been pretty fantastic). I checked the website and the computer I'm currently on is a PPC mac so I can't watch any of the live streams...is that the only way to see fencing or am I missing something? Also to whoever said they thought the footprints in the opening ceremony looked digital at first, turns out they were indeed fake.
  6. Well apparently my penciling came out "disturbing" so I guess I've succeeded in drawing something that doesn't suffer from cuteness as is often the case when I draw something (or so I am told anyway). For some reason I still think it's a bit cute though, for a rotting reanimated corpse anyway.
  7. Could you save one for me? I can't get my DS online till I go back home in August as far as I'm aware, but I can keep trying to get it to work here in the meantime.
  8. I think I might not do this months, I can't think of anything to really do, and there isn't really much space here to comfortably draw in real media. Good luck to those of you who are entering this month though.
  9. Make the picture huge, then shrink it down as far as crisp lines, this can apply for varying thickness too if you have a pen/tablet that allows for it and the brushes as well. Can't give you much help on real life drawing though beyond keep practicing, I used to have a really shaky hand, but it isn't as much now, and I haven't done anything specific about it.
  10. Just keep practicing with it, you'll get used to it with time, I've had a tablet for about 9 months now, and the only thing that's really awkward about it is that I can't rotate the drawing surface like a real piece of paper. (also if you haven't already make sure the tablets sensitive area is set to be proportional to the monitor, that seems to be rather helpful). I'll try to do something for this one, but it all depends on if the scanner here works or not, I left my tablet at home, somewhere I won't be for another month. I had thought of making a big pixily thing, but then realized the only computer available to me is a mac and it doesn't seem to have anything like msPaint to work with.
  11. I/we voted, got my boyfriend to help me out cause it was too hard to really separate them all out. He apparently likes oranges better than apples when it comes to choosing 2nd and 3rd. Or something wacky like that. (cut and clean vs gestural are apples and oranges right?) I'd make him vote too but you guys probably wouldn't take a vote from a random 0 post count person thingy from the same IP and such.
  12. Ooh, lots of good entries, I'll have to ruminate on what I like the most for sure. Good job everyone
  13. I am very excited to see the other entries, the final day needs to come faster!
  14. I'm going to get the pokemon ranch thing just cause it seems like a neat little thing to play with, and overflow has made it seem even more neat than before. Is mew in the American one? It took mew out of the original ones, I wouldn't put them past it to take him out of ranch. Someone mentioned fav pokemons earlier and that made me think of a crazy curiosity I have. I've always wondered if the first pokemon game anyone plays also effects what pokemon they tend to like generation wise when it comes to aesthetics. For example, I started out with the first games, and while I like pokemon from all the generations, I like many more in the first one than I do in the 3rd and fourth one combined. But would someone that started with a later generation prefer those over older generations? I've also just wondered if there is a general preference for any generation even despite whatever game was started with.
  15. You should try anyway, who cares if you get stomped, it's a good way to push yourself to better your artwork.
  16. I think you're supposed to PM it to Atma...(Although I'm not particularly sure of that) Anyway I'm done too, my elbow rather hates me now. With any luck I'll have a computer so I can check back and vote. :3
  17. Animal Crossing: I don't know why I just randomly started playing it again, saddly I have learned that there is a limit to the number of active gyroids in a room, there goes that fun idea of an army of gyroids. Mario Kart Wii: Online play is pretty fun although it is a little harrowing at times how easy it is to go from near the front to dead last all because of one or two item hits. Smash Bros Brawl: Would be more fun if I could find people to play with, but I will probably eventually finish all the challenges at least. Soon to be playing in the next two weeks: Okami PS2, LoZ:TP (gamecube), We Love Katamari, various other PS2 games my boyfriend may happen to own while I'm visiting him.
  18. Of all the weird starfox 64 quotes, I'm surprised noone got this one. "Only I have the brains to rule Lylat!" As Andross turns into a giant brain...
  19. Ok so you don't like Wii games and find them boring, that doesn't mean the wii is a horrible system for everyone, just you.
  20. I think comparing the different systems is like comparing apples and oranges, even before there was such a split that we have no in what they do/have. But that's only going off the fact that I was lead to believe that it doesn't matter all that much what the specifications are of a system. Cause a weaker system might manage to look better than a stronger one simply because of however it's setup works better for rendering graphics or whatever. Now that isn't the case of the current generation, but I've heard it said of the last one. Of course, I know nothing about that sort of stuff, so that might be completely wrong. Even before being told that, I never really cared about the hardware specifications of a system. All that matters to me is if I can play the games I want on it or not.
  21. Lets see if I can finish this before I have to go to my cousins wedding now. I'm sure I can.
  22. I'll poke you after I get to battle Jam a few times one on one, we've only done multi man melees. You probably won't want to play me though, but I'd like to play you, only way to get better right.
  23. Wow, he's REALLY tall, atleast a head taller than the other runners.
  24. Cacti! I mean Final Fantasy, cause whimsical things are fun! Or something. Whens this starting?
