  1. Explodey items are the sort I like to turn off. Too bad for your bad luck, try to keep better track of those proximity mines next time you end up in a battle with them turned on.
  2. Breeding for IV's is time consuming but it's kind of fun too (ok, maybe I'm just a little obsessive crazy). I think it's worth it though cause those extra IV's can make a difference sometimes, like with speed.
  3. Whether people actually care or not generally isn't a good excuse to be an asshat, unless you're surrounded by people that will realize you "didn't actually mean it" Anyway, Mr.Rogers was awesome, I wish more people could be as amassing as he was, I wish to someday be at that level as far as working with children and education.
  4. Hehe, someone did a comic about the demented pikachu.. Pikaman!
  5. I don't particularly want to use the sets posted on smogon either though, it's not really any fun that way. And Lucario is awesome, I lead with my untrained one once against Drack a long time ago, totally surprised him and killed his tyranitar. XD After that I think he ate the rest of my team I maybe killed one or two others...but I'll take it since he had EV'd pokemon, and mine were just my elite four pokemon with no special training or coherency. It just occurred to me that years ago when I beat my cousins pokemon once, even though they were higher level, it was probably cause he just cheated and used rare candies to do it. His pokemon maybe have been lv 100 but they had 0 ev's. Stupid cousin, he always turned out to cheat at everything we competed with, and that's the only time he lost because of it. *grumble grumble*
  6. I honestly just pulled a vaporeon out of my butt cause I beat the champions garchomp with my vaporeon when it was something like...20 levels weaker (with a crit ice beam, it's hp dropped quick too so I imagine a normal one woulda done the trick). Granted I don't remember the situation beyond "did my vaporeon just 1hko this big scary landshark?" And her pokemon probably aren't IV/EV trained for maximum stompage like a serious players would be. I think the only reason it didn't die is either the chomp used an attack that missed, or vaporeon had max acid armor, took the attack and, ice beamed it. I have a habbit of sacrificing pokemon in battle sometimes, which probably isn't really the best habit to have. Edit: I rather like Lucario myself just aesthetically speaking I've heard he's a good all around pokemon too, He's on the back burner for training though. I don't know if I want a special or physical attacker yet..
  7. Last time I poked around Smogon, garchomp didn't seemed that hyped up, it's got a couple of counters anyway, just kill it quick before it boosts up too much is all I can say. (I bet a vaporeon with hp/def/spA ev's could switch into and ice beam one down pretty easily). I don't play competitively though, most of the pokemon I like are BL/UU, and they don't fit together in a cohesive team. I have thought of sitting down some day and trying to make one though. IV's also take me a while since school eats up a lot of my time. I've been working on a flygon for two months, and the best I will have bred by this point is. 23/23/27/29/19/27 I can't begin to fathom how long it'll take to get a whole team of IV'd pokemon. Even then, I learn through experience and, honestly too many competitive gamers seem to be dickweeds. I want to play to have fun and learn, not listen to some egotistical prick be an ass to me about the pokemon I like, and how much I suck.
  8. Ahahaha Wolf sounds like an old man from the midwest. He didn't used to sound like that, why the change?
  9. Well really, no, it doesn't really ruin it for me. Cause I don't care if the masses ramble about how awesome something is or isn't. I'm not going to let a mass of people deprive me of enjoyment of something just because they happen to like (or dislike it). How can you even stand to play smash if something being popular somehow ruins the experience for you?
  10. I guess whenever I get to own the game (and have access to wifi at the same time) I'm going to have to deal with another round of asshats going "eeew yoshi" *grumble grumble grumble* I guess I'll just have to get good with him again...although it's kind of hard at first. I also never understood why some people will not do something they might find interest in just because it's popular. I knew someone that was like "I used to like [X franchise] but not anymore, because it got popular." What the hell?
  11. However the pokemon trainer ends up sounding, it'll probably stink a lot in comparison to the Japanese one. (I dunno the Japanese trainer has that nice spirited kind of sound to his voice that I've never heard in an English speaker ever).
  12. Metaknight is Hispanic Vader? It sucks they took out the Japanese option if they really did. :{ Pits voice doesn't seem like it fits at all, he sounds all annoying and arrogant, but he doesn't look like that sort of character. (Please note I've never played the game with Pit in it).
  13. I think you can if you buy the addon...but that defeats the purpose if he wants freeness that can print sheet music...
  14. Anvil Studio? I'm not sure if that's what you're asking for or not...
  15. The cover picture is neat, and slightly disturbing looking.
  16. Well he DID work on some games of his own (I think, maybe I'm remembering someone else). It seems like it would be normal for a game designer dude thing to be a bit pedantic about how games in general are designed.
  17. It seems that a few might be missing from it, but I'm not sure. I just know that the numbering isn't always consistent all the way through. (sometimes it'll be like letter1 letter2 letter4 letter6 and so on) But yeah, awesomeness, now I can get more of the songs since I can't torrent stuff from where I am.
  18. Nothing wrong with having options neh? I haven't seen a wii in person, but I'd imagine it's a big transition, it doesn't hurt to allow multiple control methods, at least if any one of them works just fine so you don't have to buy extra/special controls just to play the game.
  19. It's not good to have lemmings as a role model, you know.
  20. He's told me before that the only time he really talks with good grammar and stuff is when he's being particularly serious about something, otherwise he's going to type all crazy like. I mean, I don't think he has any great disrespect for me, and when I've interacted with him in clanOCR he talked in "lazy internet speak" unless he was sending me a semi series private message. (He types all cryptically most the time it seems to me anyway...)
  21. I'm sure some people will be able to get used to and be good with the other controls, especially if that's all that is available to them. That said, I'd hate to use anything other than a gamecube control, the other controls seem kind of awkward for the way button pushing flows in smash.
  22. I have no reason to refute whatever points you're making since I couldn't really care less if someone plays with or without items? You're the one being rude to other people in the thread. That Yoshi video someone posted a page or two ago made me feel excited to learn to play Yoshi again, even if that was just against a stinky CP. I wish the frame rate could have been better, but it looked pretty fun. Whenever I get around to owning a wii/the game though I'm not sure if I'm happy for the lack of voice chat or not. Sure there's the whole "ew yoshi is gay/retarded/sucks" factor. But there's also the fun of them getting very quiet when I beat them down with stock to spare. I probably couldn't do this anymore though seeing as I haven't consistently played the game against other people in about 4 years now, and then there'd of course be learning brawl. Smack talk among friends (and possibly ocr people) is also rather fun, so I'll be missing out on that too.
  23. Yeah, if being a jerkwad is making good points these days. I'm going to need to check out the rec rooms around the dorms and hope I find someone with Brawl, I want to at least get to see it in action, if not play it.
  24. Believe it or not it's not hard to tell if one will enjoy a game or not just by watching the game play, just because you think it's the best thing since buttered toast doesn't mean you should be rude to people who think it doesn't look worth playing.
  25. Yeah uh, items aren't that hard to deal with, avoid being hit and knock the item out of their grasp, it's pretty easy. That said I do turn some items off just cause they aren't that fun to have around. But playing with some items on is definitely a lot more interesting than no items at all.
