Why is there such a rush to get it published? If you've been waiting for a year already, what's another two months while they review it? But someone from the industry should know better than me.

The last time a company tried to make a game that tried to appeal to Western audiences, they came up with Aion. Aion flopped because it couldn't decide between whether it wanted to be a super hardcore game, or a soft, casual game and gave everyone some kind of half-assed thing in between.

What this really looks like in the end is a multitouch pad alongside a MIDI keyboard. You play notes on the neck, apply effects in 2D using the touch pad. I'm surprised it's MIDI only as well, especially since you'd think that USB parts would be much cheaper. Maybe he only uses hardware synths so USB for him doesn't fit his needs.

The spinoffs and so forth is an excellent way for them to cut creative costs. In addition, the global world has proven that there is an appetite for franchise characters, spinoff stories and merchandise. Arguably, the name "Final Fantasy" is one of the most valuable brand names in the video game industry right now. Also, they will probably use Final Fantasy XIII-mania to kickstart interest in Final Fantasy XIV, which is where they can make real year-over-year profits. Every year, they say that they'll never release a normal Final Fantasy game ever again... but then we saw X-2, XII, and now XIII, in addition to all of the FF VII spinoffs

The internal microphone for a Mac is recognized by Windows as a USB mic, so it shouldn't be an issue. Parallels usually has the tools that'll help enable mics/trackpads/etc. You installed the Parallels control center right? Also, you could try installing the drivers from the Snow Leopard CD from boot camp, maybe that'll help. Yes, Windows drivers do exist for all of this stuff, but because you're in a virtualized environment you often don't need them.

Or maybe, they know that they're sexualized images, but find them repulsive and are too judgemental to hold their tongue - kind of like what people would have said about gay porn a few years ago when it wasn't considered politically incorrect to attack homosexuality. Or even, for some people, hetero porn. A lot of people's first and only exposure to furry fandom is pornographic (and there is a lot of pornographic furry art out there) and then it ends up being some kind of odd derivation that therefore, all furry art is leading to pornography. It's similar to how a lot of people used to think that all Japanese cartoons were porn.

Wow, I'm surprised, gamestop.ca sells games for $59.99 just like in the USA. When I was playing PSX/PS2, I was paying $80 for a game that cost $60 in the US, but since then the CDN dollar went to almost-par with the US dollar and the companies ran out of excuses for different pricing.

Those little $5 XBox Live games are like, more fun than $60 XBox games half the time.

What Rozovian said, it lacks punch. Needs more attack, If there's any kind of pre-delay on it (from reverb modules, etc) then get rid of it. You can also compress it for added punchiness.

Something I'm just starting to learn about now is song forms, like the Verse-Chorus-Bridge form, or AABA form. You might use those as guides for how some popular music goes and structure the rest of your song accordingly.

I don't think the Circle of Life and the Animal Food Pyramid is on the priority lists of furries. Someone who roleplays a furry rabbit will probably gladly dive into his or her rabbit stew and not think for a moment that it's like cannibalism.

This track is like, 80% done, you probably just need a bridge section and another chorus repeat and an outro and structure wise it's finished. Production wise, the lead and bass sound good but the mixing can be improved, the backing synths can use a lowering in levels, they are too loud. The whole track sounds a little compressed. Might want to consider some changing in dynamics and more humanization as well, especially in the lead.

heh heh I wouldn't dream of doing heavy drinking in your (or anyone's) place. The Strip is not all strippers and adult debauchery, it's pretty fascinating just to walk around because there's so many huge hotels with cool themes. Even under 18s can visit a lot of these places as long as they're not playing slots or taking drinks. It would be nice to have a few trips to the strip, do a dinner or an afternoon together, leave the evenings to those who want to go out and party or whatever, there'll be plenty to do for everyone. Closer to the date I think that "groups of people who want to do X" lists are a decent idea - like if Bahamut wants to go to shows, he can help a group of people get out and do that, and so forth.
