  1. So, finished up one of the tracks I was working on. I can't get it to the point where I'm 100% happy with it, but eh. I think it can fend for itself in the big world now. http://soundcloud.com/the-radical-sifu/the-radical-sifu-city-rollin Kind of a funky upbeat/chillout nu-jazz/hiphop thing. Hope you dig it.
  2. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl turned out to be quite a famous film and media franchise, scoring positive reviews in numerous countries. The storyline is quite cliché, if you ask me. Character development is slow and doesn't actually gain speed until the 2nd film. Also, the backstory doesn't really get told until the 2nd and 3rd film (like his compass). Though, the big scoring point for me is its rather strong musical score, composed by Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer back in 2003. It's the perfect soundtrack to practice orchestration (arranging) on; the sheetmusic is unofficially available, the main motif is catchy and many have heard about it. I do advice those who are interested in arranging symphony to take a look at the (unofficial) score! Original music (playlist): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=D1A3E067DC4F428E&feature=mh_lolz Arrange: http://soundcloud.com/ravensjig/reiuyi-pirates-of-the-black Advice and general tips are always welcome~!
  3. Please review. (Also, I like the texture of the main synth on my headphones =P
  4. I'd love some feedback on this one! Thanks LINK
  5. Dear OCRemix Community, I am releasing this as an indie film, so I am taking all content offline for the time being. Thanks, Mark
  6. Hey guys.. I did a metal remake of Katy Perry's ET. First time doing one of these so lemme know what you guys think! http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10739746
  7. hi! This is my first post in OCRemix and i really like it here! i have composed 3 orchestral tracks for a game called 'Battle of Sarawak'. Check it out here - www.ctplr.bandcamp.com Hope to hear what you think! Im also interested in music collaborations and requests. Thank you, ctplr
  8. This track started on tuesday with the JHcompo and as time went on I formed it into one of the tracks I want to include in my portfolio as I start making steps into making music for video games (which I know is the aspiration for many a people on this site). This is the 4th one I've made but it's the most polished of them all so far, or at least I believe so. In making the melody I pulled some influence for Metroid games and i think it paid off pretty well. So What I'm looking to find out is: a. what could I do to make this track as close to perfect as possible and b. could you see this in a video game. If not, why? thank you very much! http://soundcloud.com/shinnymetal/technologicalterror
  9. Listen to Mega Man 2 - Bubble Man Decompression Time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctrk-b84qE8
  10. hey guys, this is a wierd kind of experimental rock/metal song I wrote a few months back. I was wondering if i should do more like it or not. http://youtu.be/045UuQmrE0w
  11. DubStep Inspired Beat With Some Wobble Bass: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10738176&q=hi&newref=1 Trying to merge dubstep with a more traditional song structure to suit it more as a hip-hop beat than a song to be listened to instrumentally - - thoughts?
  12. I submitted this a few weeks ago but if you wanna hear it now, here it is. Hard for me to say whether it'll pass the judge panel so lemme know if you guys think it's passable, awesome, sucky, lame or whatever. http://youtu.be/9FsJAXsnVLU If you like it, you're welcome to subscribe to me or download it from MegaUpload (in the description of Youtube video) Thanks, Trey

  14. Hi everyone. I just FINALLY finished recording a video of me playing the keyboard to a video game remix I arranged. Well, most of the pieces I arranged (the individual breakdown is in the description of the video). There are a couple in there such as JENOVA that were done by someone else. However the overall arrangement of putting them all together was me. Here is the link, enjoy!
  15. Anyone still remember me? I'm guessing not so much, outside of maybe old UnMod regulars, who probably don't come here anyway. Be that as it may, once upon a time, I fiddled with mashups on a regular basis and actually finished them sometimes. As opposed to now, where I still fiddle with mashups sometimes, but hardly ever finish them. Well... when this Remix came out, it sounded like a well-known pop song, so I put the two together, then let it sit for ages. Today, I actually got it back out and finished it! I give you: halc - The Forest That Never Sleeps v. Owl City - Fireflies The Fireflies That Never Sleep The rest of my mashups are, of course, still here, if anyone cares.

  17. Hi fellows! This is my firts post in here. I'm Rick from Venezuela and I started to work on video games remixes not long ago, and thought about practicing some arrangement and mixing while having fun and bringing back some memories. One day I thought about remixing Guile's stage theme song... then I was finishing all the Street Fighter II themes. Well, now I''m working on the another four guys from Super Street Fighter II turbo. I have just finished Cammy's. I'll leave you the youtube link, so you can tell me what you guys think. (I bet there's a thousand sf2 remixes around, but I just love this game xD) Ohh! and... all my remixes are more like arrangements or hybrids I guess, because I like the original music so much that I just let roll the original "remixed" music and then at some point you get surprises (completely new compositions), you just need to listen at them. Thanks! Read ya! Cammy Stage Theme Remix: https://soundcloud.com/rickstrife-depot/super-street-fighter-ii-cammy
  18. Here is my original composition Blue Skies Over Arcadia. All sounds were synthesized by me. A celebration in a parallel world Ancient Greece or Rome. http://soundcloud.com/marcel-gherman-megatone/blue-skies-over-arcadia Here is also a provisional video combining my track Blue Skies Over Arcadia with images from Star Wars and Final Fantasy (in bad quality). http://youtu.be/x0NvJTdFTNk You may find indepth information about me at: http://marcelgherman.blogspot.com http://www.myspace.com/httpwwwmegatonecom
  19. Present your Case - Turnabout Courtroom~Trial R-Mix(Soundcloud Damn, that is one long title. Anyways... My take on one of my favorite themes from the game - just something simple to compliment the epic original. Was just going for a more of an 'update' as opposed to a remix - very close to the source. Here's hoping I did it some justice however. No pun intended. Seriously. Artwork-should you go to the Youtube Link©Rukunetsu
  20. A drum and bass take on this classic, done for the PRC. Tell me what you think, cheers! http://soundcloud.com/decitronic/snakes-revenge-jungle It's practically finished, I might add some slight more pad in the background and record actual bass to sit on top of the Subbass but it's essentially finished. [unless I get feedback that says otherwise ]
  21. Hello there, my first post/thread here. I want to point out to a project of a friend of mine that's been out for a few months now. It's called hylian ensemble and it's ment to remix video game music with an orchestrational focus. He is uploading all of his work only on youtube for now, so here is the link to his channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/hylianensemble What do you think of it?
  22. Sure, why not? Seems to be the flavor of the month, so I decided to join in. Slowing down from my normal frantic musical pacing, this one is a pretty minimalistic & chill 9-bit remix (can't say if it's '9-bit' enough, but I love that genre name). I haven't posted anything in a good while, now, so may as well. http://www.box.net/shared/nxibqfiok2 If you hear some Nespus influence on this one, I'll admit in some way's I'm blatantly ripping him off, but what can I say? His mix was freakin' awesome. I don't care, and neither should you (seriously, though, check his mix out, too - it rocks). Crits? Gushing praise? Tell me that there are too many of these mixes around? I'm happy with any any feedback, so post away.
  23. Hey! Reunion Netlabel is where you find free electronic music, released at a steady pace, with HQ music from many people from this community, but also from the net label/demo scene/music scene in general. Check us out, OK!? http://reuniverse.org (200+ FREE tracks!) -.------------------------------------------------------------ ...And with the end of this semester and the coming summer activities we welcome back the ones and onlys, the glorious, Easily Embarrassed. In 2006 Jeffrey joined his brother Nick to make music with Peter and formed this awesome trio. They had a few releases in the free music scene (subco and right here!) before getting signed and subsequently releasing two great albums! Also, they're apparently working on EE3, their 3rd album! Recently, they added a section to their site called "After Hours" - where they put up non-album material for free. "It Goes Too Fur", was picked from there, and has been given permission to be released on Reunion. Thanks! Get ready for some brand-new EE music as well as an unreleased blast from the past.
