  1. Sauraen - Xenogears - 'Final Convergence' Remix https://soundcloud.com/sauraen/xenogears-final-convergence-2 [updated 2/20/2014] (Now that the mastering is better, the low-quality streaming version is also better, but please download for full quality) Since there's 22 songs referenced here, I might as well just post a link to the entire OST, and you can find all the songs there: Original Composer: Yasunori Mitsuda Primary songs remixed: Star of Tears, Small Two of Pieces Songs referenced: 0:00 - Aveh, Ancient Dance 0:25 - Star of Tears / Emotions [Overworld Theme] 1:25 - My Village is Number One (uilleann pipes) 1:29 - The Sky, The Clouds, and You [Chu Chu's Theme] (glockenspiel) 1:33 - Singing of the Gentle Wind (flute) 1:48 - Bonds of Sea and Fire / The Leftovers of the Dreams of the Strong (horn) 1:56 - Flight / Gathering Stars in the Night Sky (brass) 2:04 - Shattering Egg of Dreams (strings, low whistle) 2:34 - Small Two of Pieces (uilleann pipes shredding) 3:22 - Faraway Promise / Small Two of Pieces A Theme (glockenspiel) 3:43 - Back to Sleep V1/V2 (harp) 3:50 - The Wounded Shall Advance into the Light / Pray for the People's Joy 3:57 - In a Dark Sleep / Small Two of Pieces B Theme 4:13 - Lost... Broken Shards (flute, glockenspiel) 4:28 - The Treasure Which Cannot Be Stolen 4:58 - Wings (uilleann pipes) 5:02 - Ship of Regret and Sleep (glockenspiel) 5:06 - Dazil, City of Burning Sands There will probably be a few minor mixing/mastering edits before I want to submit it, but it's mostly done. Enjoy!
  2. Any feedback whether its positive or negative would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thought I'd post this here and get some feedback. I know the hats are dry, if anyone knows a nicer sample for them, I'm all ears. Awaken
  4. I feel like the guitar loop might be too loud or just annoying when the strings pick up. Any feedback is appreciated. https://soundcloud.com/policenaut/ark-red
  5. Hey Everyone! I'm hoping no one is confused by the title song, in Super Mario 64 both Dire, Dire Docks and Jolly Roger Bay have the same music. I've done a Re-Orchestration of the song, and I'm hoping to get a little insight and constructive criticism on my piece so far. It's not done yet, obviously, and I believe I still need to add one part (The ending part from the Source song isn't in my version yet). Please be gentle! 6. SUP. This is going to be the prologue to my vocal remix album I'm working on this year. Super early WIP but I haven't posted an actual unfinished song on this forum since like 2006. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13741915/wips/Endless%20Night/sinking1.mp3 It's super early and is basically nothing done yet or tweaked, but I did tweak the recorder and tin whistle a lot, and the strings behind them. Using a new library called Lumina by Project SAM. It seems like it's more trouble than it's worth so far, and I'll still need to add LASS to fill out the problems that it can't handle. I do really like the recorder and tin whistle though. That long held out note for the bass through the intro glitches out for some reason, so I'll switch that to LASS later.
  7. I recently started a collab with David Locke (his first album came out, progressive rock, really worth listening to - http://davidlocke.bandcamp.com/album/riding-out-youth - but anyway, enough plugging ) on a rock remix of the main theme from BF4. We know this theme has practically been done to death already, but we're trying to at least bring a few new ideas to the table. Everything is still pretty rough - transitions, mixing, some of the sounds, some of the takes, structure - but we've made quite a lot of progress into the mix and so far it's sounding like it could be quite cool. Feedback would be seriously appreciated!
  8. Hey everyone!! Below you'll find the link to my re-orchestration of The Legend of Zelda's Song of Storms. I really like how it came out, and I wanted some insight from anyone on how I could improve at all. Source: Remix: https://soundcloud.com/kairi-sawler/symphony-of-storms It's definitely not done yet, I'm just hoping for a little advice on how to make it better! The first two melodic parts are the standard Song of Storms Melody everyone knows and loves, while the third is my own original composition, which I created to fit with the piece.
  9. Hello, Something I've been working on. I had, in fact, finished the whole song - prior to FLstudio eating it of course This is what is left, will finish and tweak. No mastering/minimal mixing so far. Also, it's Icecap. I've never tried this song before - why not. Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/ellywu2/ice
  10. Just a short jazzy piano version which i want to share with you guys. Remix: https://app.box.com/s/kf1ao6rwkzt0z763fe4b Source: http://youtu.be/XgPeQGeJ3z4 Thanks for listening
  11. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1665268/ocremix%20links/Island%20of%20melee%20demo%20wip.mp3 Hey everyone! I recently put together this Monkey Island track for a demo I gave out to people at MAGFest, and I was looking for some mixing/arrangement advice on it! It's leaps and bounds ahead of some of my previous work, but I really want to get it top notch. Thanks in advance for feedback!
  12. Hey guys! I have been slacking on my posting I know. I've actually been working on projects and doing shows more so my posting time has been minimal. (Actually did a show with a fellow OCR member Ben Briggs over xmas break!) I am releasing this free PS1/Sega Saturn/N64 concept album on Thursday which actually has a few guys I met here who contributed a ton of content. I'll post the CD DL on Thursday when I launch it all! Hopefully you enjoy it when it comes out! Thanks, 1UP

  14. Hey guys, I decided to open up a new YouTube channel dedicated to songwriting in the pop/rock-esque genres. The first video is on a new song I'm working on called The Sordid City. This is a work-in-progress video meant for feedback and stuff so let me know what you think! the channel is located at: http://youtube.com/blacklakesongs (please subscribe if you want to hear more and/or be an active force in the development of my songwriting hehe) have reddit? vote me up on the Acoustic Originals subredit: http://www.reddit.com/r/AcousticOriginals/comments/1ufxka/the_sordid_city_new_song_that_im_working_on/ as I said, feedback is highly appreciated! cheers, Jonas/Platonist
  15. Kind of a symphonic remix of the Final Fantasy 9 boss battle theme. This is part of a larger remix that I'm doing in two parts with the intention of putting them together later, and features a music box. This is the kind of introduction to the whole thing and it's my first attempt at using nothing but software instruments - I usually like to let my compositions be supported by my guitar playing but I'm determined not to do that this time. I would appreciate any comments, mostly regarding tips to make software instruments sound more realistic. Almost the entire thing was made with Miroslav Philharmonik, and a couple of tracks were done with SampleTank. https://www.dropbox.com/s/v8es1uhsw2xc0vj/FF9%20Boss%20Music%20Box.mp3
  16. I mentioned this in the other thread. All sounds created by piano accordion (7 overdubs on this track). Definitely going to return to this mix soon. https://soundcloud.com/doctorcaterwauls/an-historic-battle-chrono
  17. Been a long time since i posted something, but I put this together today and would appreciate some feedback on it. I'm listing it as a cover because despite all the sounds being produced by accordion (6 overdubs total) the arrangement is based pretty closely off of the OST version. An Historic is the alias I use for my songwriting efforts, which are usually based around accordion. I recorded the Battle theme as well today (will be on a separate thread) and hope to do more from the Chrono soundtracks at some point. Mix is rough and will probably be revisited at a later date. https://soundcloud.com/doctorcaterwauls/an-historic-guardia-castle
  18. Working on this track currently, passed out the ver currently on my soundcloud at MAGFest. Hope you enjoy, any feedback/questions etc. is always welcomed. https://soundcloud.com/astro-stasis/lava-jump-demo
  19. I'm creating my first vocal mix, and I want to achieve a good level for the (vocoded) vocals. I want to make sure the vocals are comprehensible, but I don't want them to overpower my mix. So I'd like your opinion: are the vocals too loud? Can you understand them? https://soundcloud.com/kruai/stars-like-fireflies/s-f6z7z The lyrics are included in the description of the song. Thanks for listening!
  20. I know, this has been remixed a lot but i just like the source and have always wanted to remix it. I'm aware that the remix is too short, it's not finished yet. Remix: https://app.box.com/s/a662v13q2mqvs41xriyb Source: http://youtu.be/FyFcSHHdIQE Thanks for feedback!
  21. A Rock/Metal Version of the Battle Theme From the Japanese FF-III, Entirely Made In fruityloops: https://soundcloud.com/steven1024/battle-final-fantasy-iii Hope you guys are into this sorta thing *UPDATE* https://soundcloud.com/steven1024/final-fantasy-iii-battle
  22. The source is "Ayla's Theme" from Chrono Trigger. I wanted to choose one of the tracks from the game that wasn't done very often, and I liked this theme quite a bit. I made it an EDM piece with elements of trance, house, and DnB. https://soundcloud.com/jordanrooben/ayla
  23. Cyrodiil's Dragon Child(elder scrolls 5): a mix of +
  24. Konami was one of my first gaming loves, and a huge part of it was because of its shooters and their music. I loved this particular theme, never get tired of listening to it, as short and loopy as it is: Original: I want to remake it and make it sound as "futuristic 80s" as I can (Salamander, Gradius and Konami shooters in general always give me that vibe), and this is how it's going so far, just to get the idea of the overall athmosphere: https://app.box.com/s/sw8dpuhhhavv9fyz7bvn Of course, any feedback is really appreciated, especially in terms of mastering , that's always tricky for me. Thanks a lot and hope you enjoy!
