Hello everyone! This is my first real post on the forums. I submitted my first song about a month ago, and well...it seems things are kind of backed up! So, I figured I would share my latest video I made right here! A quick bit about me: My name is Ace. I love to make music. I have written lots of original stuff late last year I decided to start posting regular youtube videos. I do electronic originals, cover songs of all kinds, and my personal favorite, my VGMS. One of the best gaming memories of my childhood is playing Azure Dreams on GBC. It's a turn-based dungeon crawler with roguelike and monster-raising elements, and it's incredibly addictive. The awesome soundtrack composed by Hiroshi Tamawari has stuck with me for years...it never leaves my head. I noticed that there aren't any Azure Dreams related tracks on the site at all, so I thought I'd post a track I made out of samples from both the Playstation and GBC versions of the game. So, This is gong to be a resub probably (verbatim) this week, however I thought I'd give it one more shot at peer review before I cut the chord on this one (see what I did there, chord/cord? chord/cord? chord/cord? Oh come on! I put a lotta work into that!) So if you would hear, the Fx are the star here. They do build up, however the general felling I was aiming for was a down, not depressing, but literally every note, beat, effect, sound, voice is predominately down. I want to see if the atmosphere could drive the mix, rather than a driving baseline or shedding guitar. Before an thoughts on the guitar( and its familiar melody) it is simply a platform that licenses every other sound here and I don't want to sully the mixing with anything that's going to detract from the tunnel you're currently navigating, so solos and hybridizations are out. Ive fought with myself to keep it as long as the feeling of glitchy subterranean......tubularity(?) is present, and I feel it has achieved its goal. Another song I composed for the upcoming indie game Cube Knights. First time I actually incorporated brass instrumentation. It's gonna be a song that plays when visiting a very Hyrule/medieval kind of town. I sincerely hope you guys like it! Link

Hi i just made this song called Neon Blue. This is the first song i make using my new pc and komplete 9, it took me a good while to make it but the learning of komplete 9 is a good experience. Also this is the first time that i send every single instrument to its own mixer channel and i put parametric eq 2 on everything to try and make the song sound better. I hope it worked. Any feedback/criticism is appreciated. Thanks for listening

This is one that may have gotten too bloated. I love the Castle Center theme from Castlevania 64, I enjoy the Castle theme from SMW. I wanted to take the gothic horror style of Castlevania and collide it with the happy go lucky stylings of the mushroom kingdom, with a healthy dose of Glitch added in for taste. I mean circuits WOULD fry if two diametrically opposing games were to meet, right? So the glitchy aspects, I wanted to keep as random as possible, with out totally destroying the source material hoping it would blend the two sides in a blurry line in between the differing sources, like a xenograft transplantation. To be honest, it feels like a story line from an "imitation horror" story like "The Thing" or "It" its as if something is trying too hard to make you comfortable lulling you in with a pleasant seances of ease, yet harboring horrors beyond imagination.........I might be over thing this one. Hello everyone, Back with another Sonic remix, doesn't deviate too far from the original piece but I think it adds enough to be notable. Had a lot of back and forth with the sound design but I think I've hit a good spot with it. The mix is pretty much done, just needs a bit of cleaning up I think. EDIT: Went ahead and did some mastering, actually pretty happy with it now but if anyone spots anything majorly wrong with it let me know. Hello! It's my first time posting here, though I've been a fan of OCRemix for a long while and making music and VGM remixes for a couple years now. There's a bit of backstory to this mix, so hang in there... I still remember the night I got to play Majora's Mask. It was late and my parents had failed to clear the first three days several times in a row. After waking up to the sounds in the living room, I went and cleared it for them. It's been over a decade though, and my memory seems to have slighted me...I remember a cutscene that seems to have not existed. And earlier this year, I decided to honor this illusory cutscene by making a remix for it. I remember, after learning the Song of Healing, the Happy Mask Salesman playing the full tune with some minor rearrangement for nearly 2 minutes, embellishing slightly as he went along...it seemed to me that he had his own story that only the Song could really tell. I was inspired a few weeks ago to compose some music after watching Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. After finishing the tune, I decided it would be cool to enlist the help of Timaeus, who added some additional sound effects as well as mixed and mastered the thing.
