  1. The title came to mind when I listened to it after the final render. I think it fits somehow. Take a listen and feel free to comment. Thanks! http://soundcloud.com/feather/blowing-up-the-sun
  2. http://www.cs.mun.ca/~p34jmr/music/jmr-canyoufeelthetootseeroll-mashup.mp3 For those who listened to this on Radio:ThaSauce Live last night: this is a significant improvement over that version. I actually did more than throw the two songs into a mixer this time. I still couldn't find a proper Tootsee Roll acapella, but I managed to bring out the vocals from the rest of the track a bit.
  3. Hey all, this is my first post in the OCR forums. I've been browsing these forums for a while now, and all the posts on this site have helped me get started on my musical compositions. Though I have yet to make any remixes, I have made many originals, with each being in the video-game music style. Once I've fully grasped the ideas of electronic music production and whatnot I hope to begin making full-fledged remixes, but for now i'll be stickin' wit my fancy piano. Comments are greatly appreciated, and hopefully I didn't already break any of those rules I failed to read before I posted this >.< http://www.reverbnation.com/ryanvoon
  4. Watch on YouTube - Download on Gimmesound - http://www.gimmesound.com/8762Entertainment Name: Clockwork Length: 7:29 Most likely the only time I'll ever use the Pitch Correction tool in Logic. Is hopefully going to be part of an album I'm putting together, only problem is that I can only access Logic Pro at college - due to me running Windows at home. Main inspirations behind this track are Tool and Dream Theater. Still a few problems I can hear with it (a little quiet compared to the other stuff I have, even at peak volume... hihats at the start are a little too noticeable when listening through earphones..), but they're not too noticeable. Also the time signature's a little wacky; I'm not a big fan of your standard 4/4. Enjoy. Or endure, whichever's applicable.
  5. Remember playing your favorite Japanese RPGs, where you visit the little towns that play the happy music? This sort of loops like you'd expect, and then takes a concluding turn... Happy Town, Happy Ending Any criticisms? Let me know what you think of the composition.
  6. Here's a little Phoenix remix that I put together in a night or two Hope you like it!
  7. http://tindeck.com/listen/prly Electronic take on the famous Dark World Theme, influenced by zircon
  8. Hello, Just a remix i made from a funny song that's being used over and over on youtube (and was originally from a kirby game) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1319539/gourmet_trance.wav
  9. Hi there A friend of mine which is very skilled with electronic music recommended this forum to me. Anyway, I have made metal covers of 2 songs, and I would love to get some feedback, especially on the sound, should I mix it different, does my microphone capture all the necessary frequencies? Etc. First, Song of Healing from Zelda, Majora's Mask: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frkcGdZ0CVQ And a cover of Cheza's Song, from the anime Wolf's Rain. I am more satisfied with the sound on this one. Even though that cold guitar tone on the Zelda song had it's charm I think, hehe! Anyway: Any opinions, on the sound, playing, etc? Thanks in advance!!
  10. Big fan of The Legacy of Kain series, but always thought the music was.... eh lacking, but here's the intro to Soul reaver with my music dubbed over, used, Edirol HQ orchestra plugin with FL studio. Thoughts on improvement?
  11. Hi Guys ! And this is my mix from Movin’ in its last version! I’ve corrected problems of the version before: better sounds for part metal, ending cleaner… For the structure, I started like the original, I developed and the mix finished by the ending of ff7. I think this melody unites good with the MOVIN’s theme. Originals: ff8 movin : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9PcnZKmyxs ff7 world crisis : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImEL5ZKxuRc THE LAST VERSION : http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/bluelighter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Rwz7fdZyw

  14. NEW: OLD: http://tindeck.com/listen/ymeu http://tindeck.com/listen/cgpz http://tindeck.com/listen/fwkr So this is my funky / whatever take on Hot Head Bop from DKC2. There's a lot of the source I haven't incorporated yet that I plan on, but this should give an idea of where I'm going with it. Tell me what you think, thanks for listening! EDIT: Updated, added a lot more of the source. Check it, yo! EDIT 2: Took all of the suggestions into account, the dynamics of the song flow way better I think and the mixing should be better. Take a listen! EDIT 3: Revamped the climax and mastering. Rawk! EDIT 4: Pulled it back so it wasn't quite as squashed. I think this is it; any last comments before I submit?
  15. Even though nobody seems to care about this board, I'm posting my newest song. The other night an owl started hooting outside my window. I didn't know what it was at first because it was such a strange, rhythmic call. I looked around online and found it - a barred owl. The owl's call was stuck in my head and this little song is the result. If you listen, please let me know what you think.
  16. Hi there! I'm not sure it belongs here (please forgive me if I'm wrong) but I can't find the place to post a 'reminder' for a submission that wasn't primarily evaluated for more than 2 months (like the 'automated message' says). How can I do that? Thanks in advance.
  17. Hello, everybody. I wrote this little song today on my ukulele. I've been watching Mushi-shi and it's influence is pretty obvious. It's nothing impressive and pales in comparison to most stuff you find on here, but I think it's nice in its own simple, peaceful way. Enjoy. ^__^ UPDATE: Even though I don't think anybody has listened to the original yet, I have made some changes. It hit me that this song is about the arrival of spring, and I decided that maybe I should put the song over the sounds of a spring shower, which just happened to be going on outside my window. I think it works. Let me know which version you prefer.
  18. Yaay! First ReMix people. I hope you like it! It's a ReMix of the Kerning City music from MapleStory. Waiting for the Judges' approval. Lots of subtle changes going on. Like the bass getting fattened up. Also some teases in there. Like the piano part 2 bars before the key change, and then you're like.. Wait.. Shouldn't the piano part continue here? And then the key change comes in and you're like: Ahh! Tease! As the Piano part continues. (doubled with the organ of course) Hey, could someone please put MapleStory in the title of the post so they know which game this is from before opening the post? I totally forgot that. That's what you get, and that's what happens man.
  19. I liked what Gecko had been doing so I followed his methods and made this Genesis cover of Toxic Seahorse from Mega Man X3. http://8bitcollective.com/music/Txai/Toxic+Seahorse+%28YM2612%29/
  20. Hey, since Apple computers have been using Intel architecture for a few years, it is possible to cleanly install both Windows and Macintosh. I used to use a mac to record, but now I use a pc. Windows is pretty buggy with cubase, so I tried dual booting mac, and let me tell you, it was difficult! Since it's different for every computer setup, it's hard to know what options to select during installation. After two full days of working on it, I finally finished the task. Whenever I start up my system, it boots to windows, but if I press F10, it boots to mac. Even on a pc, using a recording interface with the mac os is so much better! I've been recording for hours and haven't experienced any dropout or artifacts. Macintosh runs flawlessly, and in fact, my MIDI and recording latency went from 11.6ms to 8ms just by switching to mac! Since 8ms is fine I haven't tried to tweak it, but I bet I could get it down to 4 or 5ms. If anyone is interested in trying this on your own systems, let me know and I'll post all the best links. Or google "kalyway" and go from there! Oh, some interesting information- I took a gamble and ordered the Ion IED05 USB drumkit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ION-USB-Electron...item1e589ec3a3 It is a USB kit with six velocity-sensitive and durable pads, plus two pedals for a total of 8 channels. The cymbal pad can be choked and the left pedal switches the hi-hat channel when you press it. It's made by Alesis. The reviews I read on the kit stated that it was underfeatured and came with crappy samples, which is true, but they never mentioned that you can connect it to any vst-compatible recording software and run it through your drum vsti! You can even connect it to drumkit from hell! The thing costs $160, and for a recording drummer, that's an unbelievable price for what this product is capable of.
  21. Stream: Download: http://www.justingrinnell.com/afrocubancd/03_dancing_leaves.mp3 Recorded at Studio west with my Afro Cuban Jazz Band
  22. Remix of Taeyang (태양) - Wedding Dress (웨딩드레스). It's a pretty conservative take on the original track but hopefully it'll still be a nice listen This track is one of the few K-Pop tracks that I genuinely like. Enjoy!
  23. Yeah, time to jump on the bandwagon, here. Check it out - it's another FFVIII Laguna remix! Man with the Golden Machine Gun (old) newer version here... Yeah, tear me apart, but know this - I wrote this with no intention of submitting, so if it doesn't follow any OCR guidelines, meh... Critiques welcome!
