  1. Done as a gift for a new friend that reminded me of a few things that I liked. Kind of wanted to pull some Street Fighter II sounds into this. First time really working with jazz chords. I think I kind of broke my brain that day.
  2. https://youtu.be/6U0ZfFu6pxE Even though I never played Silent Hill 2 when it first came out, its evocative soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka stood alongside albums by such artists as Portishead, Massive Attack, and Aphex Twin in my rotation of brooding, atmospheric music I loved as a teenager. Years later, the now infamous P.T., a "playable teaser" for the cancelled Hideo Kojima reboot Silent Hills quickly became one of my favorite video games of all time (and definitely the scariest piece of media — movie, game, book, or otherwise — I've ever experienced). After finally getting my hands on a copy of Silent Hill 2 to play, I figured it would be fun to take a crack at remixing the ambient track "White Noiz" with a heavy, trip hop-/lofi-inspired beat while also adding in elements of the score and sound effects from P.T. This remix was composed, edited, mixed, and mastered using Studio One 4 and Reason 11, utilizing heavy use of the plugin "Shaperbox 2" developed by Cableguys. Hope you enjoy!

  4. Hoo-boy. Here we go. So this is my first post to OCR. I'm very, VERY new to remixing and I'd like some general feedback on this track I've been working on. I'd eventually like this to be something akin to what you'd hear on GameChops or Radio Cutman which is to say, a downtempo, lo-fi, hip-hoppy remix a la @FUSION42's Mabe Chillage (which I absolutely adore). I only have maybe half of the track hammered out so far (about up to the chorus), but I'd like some feedback on it before I go any further. Soundcloud link
  5. Hey everyone! I recently had some success with a Zelda themed chillout mix, and I'd like to get to work on the next big thing as soon as possible. I've had a few ideas kicking around, and I think for the next mix I'd like to do a Nintendo-only remix collection. I also kicked around the idea of doing it genre themed, like an RPG Lofi mix or Platforming mix, so if there is more interest in one or the other I'm open to ideas. So you can get an idea, here is the most recent mix I did: I'm happy with it but I would like to be a little more picky about what songs go into it this time around. This mix was very general "chill" music with several genres included, but this time around I want to narrow the genre and overall mood down a little. What I'm looking for: +Remixers interested in creating some high quality lo-fi, chillhop, jazzhop, vaporwave, etc. remixing Nintendo exclusive games. Can include remixes from Mario, Zelda, DK, etc. and even other Nintendo 2nd party exclusives like Xenoblade Chronicles. +Mix totalling around 60min +In typical lo-fi style, tracks don't need to be super long, but I'd say 2 minutes per track minimum +Anyone interested in helping out with art related to this mix Let me know if you're interested! NOTE: I'm also fine with using existing remixes if you have them, but it would be even better if we could have tracks created with this mix in mind.
