Hy Bound
They only stole the registration book... Like, I'm glad they didn't steal more, but its kinda creepy that that is all they took. There was a nice jacket, CDs where they would have brought there head in to get the book, a turntable (pretty ghetto, but still) and plenty of other stuff in my messy car that they could have taken. WTF? Anyone know why they would do that?
Shadow Wolf
If I was a thief breaking into someone's car and take their registration book, it would be in the hopes of finding info about where they lived to make a breakin attempt on their house. So, seriously, if there's addresses or any personal info in that book, or if you're not absolutely certain whether there is or not, be careful. Report the loss to the po-lice, and let them know your concerns. Your insurance company or whoever may also need to know, because if you ever get pulled over and don't have your registration, you're in a world of hurt. So basically, sit on the situation and make sure it gets explained to all the proper people.
Ninja-san
I've had someone break into my car just to steal the change out of my cup holder. It's not fun replacing a door lock.

Oh lol I'm a criminal I'm going to break into this car! *crash* Hey look an address! *steal* Now I can rob this house! *plot* Time to rob house! *setup!* COP: You're nabbed, robber! *arrest!* Uhhh foiled agin...what am I doing wrong? I think if someone was going to break into your house they wouldn't telegraph it by stealing your address and then going to it. That said, this criminal sounds like the particular class of idiot that would do such a thing, so yes, call the cops. It's like a game of chess, where there's a pretty obvious penalty for taking that pawn over there with your queen, but you do it anyways because you're an idiot. Don't uncover the pawn. Tacitus Krekt
Identity theft is what you should be worried about. Ya, they didn't take anything of immediate physical value -- but the information on your registration/insurance card can be used against you if someone knows what they're doing. ProjectSpam
Yeah, report the incident to police, because identity theft is probably the most pressing of concerns to be worried about due to that.

Groovemaster303
When my house got broken into while i was away visiting friends and family in 2004. They nicked my Xbox but left the leads, a broken video player, a TV which had recently showed signs of dying and some dvd's and a few games etc. They left behind all of my music gear including... Roland MC-505, Roland TB-303+TR-606, Korg electribe EA-1+ER1, my behringer mixer and a Yamaha RM1X. Now get this.... they nicked all the photos i took of my gear, which i had taken for insurance purposes. Why steal photos when they could have the real thing and would have made a lot more money than trying to flog a ton of broken crap. Talk about being a few bolts short of a frankenstein... 1337 1
My car got broken into while I was on holidays. The guys got caught the next day (amusingly enough, they were right across the road from where we were staying. They broke into about 10 cars, and got a sum total of...$12!!! So they got jailed over $12. The car we had to rent was more Yes, there are many thieves who lack intellect. Shame they all don't

XZero
Several years ago, this actually happened to one of my parents' cars. At the end of our block, hidden in some brush after having been thrown, we recovered the book. See? There's hope for you yet!

Airwalker
Did you have an alarm? When is the last time you've heard a car alarm blaring and you were actually concerned that car was in the process of being stolen? Too many false positives. kitty
...why do I have to explain the same point as countless other have already made... Probably because you tend to think what you're saying is generally said when it's not. And on topic(sorta): My friend got his ID stolen and it was a huge mess. He thinks they stole it off of his computer with a virus he picked up from keygens and the like.
1337 1
Probably because you tend to think what you're saying is generally said when it's not. True. Plus the fact that half of my conversation is in jokes, so that probably wouldn't help
I-n-j-i-n
Thankfully, the worst I've ever gotten was a few angry car key scratched on my once brand new car. I fixed it with almost no cost thanks to insurance anyway. So that was stupid of the idiot who did it. I did hear of a full blown robbery in a neighborhood once. I hate people. I-n-j-i-n
Weird thing to double post about, but this morning, my house was burglarized while I was still at home. I'm feeling all the emotions a human being can feel right now. Even happiness for the obvious reason.
Less Ashamed Of Self
In other news... who wants to buy Hy Bound's registration book?
sgx
My Release series Scion tC wheels were stolen last summer . However, Toyota charges out the ass for tC wheels and tires (something like $440 per rim and $220 per tire). Insurance paid for me to replace what was stolen. So I took the money and bought nice aftermarket rims and tires that are way cooler and saved $1000. Yaya.
