GizmoKSX Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 The avatar of awesomeness himself Egoraptor just did a spotlight on Mega Man X: It's fantastic... even if he could have gushed about the soundtrack more.
Bahamut Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 I never realized he posted it, being away at boot camp and all - enjoy one of the project mixes, courtesy of Chuck Dietz:
Tuberz McGee Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I must say, I saw that months ago. He's doing tutorial videos for it as well. I hope he sticks around and does more stuff for OCR. I'm a huge fan of his. Totally hyped. Can't wait for the release.
KyleJCrb Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I never realized he posted it, being away at boot camp and all - enjoy one of the project mixes, courtesy of Chuck Dietz: Haha, those facial expressions are so METAL. \m/
Bahamut Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Just a reminder that Cyril's song Crushing Gravity can be found on YouTube as well:
Brandon Strader Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 As tempted as I might've been to share my song I didn't, so y'all can look forward to it on this album when it comes out... I still really like it after all this time and I hope you do too edit: Err not trying to take the focus away from or , just feeling reminiscent of this already
Shake Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Those two songs just make me want this bad muthafuck even more I NEED MORE ROCK GOD DAMN IT
Mirby Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Judging by the artist lineup here, you'll get more than enough rock to last you quite some time. :3
SuperiorX Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Those were two intense videos. This album cannot come soon enough!
BONKERS Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I don't think I could wait so long for this anymore judging by how much I love listening to everything. I hate going back and listening to one of my songs because I can only hear how I could've done things better!
MrFX Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Chuck's Blaze Heatnix is AMAZING. Did that make it to the album?
Bahamut Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 That Blaze Heatnix is how I found him - he chose to do Infinity Mijinion for it though, which is cool since it's something new.
Mirby Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 His X vs. Zero (which is how I found him) is pretty awesome too.
Tuberz McGee Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Chuck's work is amazing. He's a solid guitarist. If you really like his playing, check out his bands. At least check out Circle 7 which is my favourite of his bands.
BONKERS Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I'm feeling like lately that I SHOULD sub at least two of my songs out of the 3 to the panel for this, so more people can listen to them once it's out. But I just subbed a song like 3 days ago for something else. I gotta mark stuff on a calender or someshit.

Again, just an honest query on my part, no harm intended.
Bahamut Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Gonna ask this as candidly as possible: doesn't this effectively constitute a precedent that it is now acceptable to leak project tracks ahead of the release?Again, just an honest query on my part, no harm intended. It has happened in the past, even with previous album projects. It happened for quite a few tracks for Serious Monkey Business, and even before then.
Dj Mokram Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 It has happened in the past, even with previous album projects. It happened for quite a few tracks for Serious Monkey Business, and even before then. I hear ya Wes, but there were also times when such confidentiality issues stirred up drama. Thus my question: has it now become acceptable to release project tracks early outside of OCR?

Usually if all parties are ok with it, then there's no problem. I remember being a bit miffed at it happening for Serious Monkey Business, but I've grown personally more lax and accepting over it over time. I'm not about to deny artists the freedom to post their music.

I'm not about to deny artists the freedom to post their music. I was kind of miffed about it with SoS too, but then I realized that it was a really good way to drum up excitement for the album itself (as we're seeing here.)

Brandon Strader Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 YEAH IT'S GOOD TO KNOW IN ADVANCE if directors are cool about it, apparently keeping tracks secret is one of the unwritten rules of projects. It'd be good if it were written. But I also agree about the promotional aspect of it, as did Rozovian, when he gave me permission to send Mirage to Songs for the Cure - Reiki.
Dj Mokram Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 keeping tracks secret is one of the unwritten rules of projects.Yeah, and one that can be difficult to grasp for a newcomer, since it's hardly ever mentioned. That's the point I was trying to make.Usually if all parties are ok with it, then there's no problem. [...] I'm not about to deny artists the freedom to post their music. Thanks for clarifying things on that subject Wes.
