prophetik music
link expires august 15th. just use an address you don't mind getting spammed a bit. it takes two months for them to get it to you (mag after next), but it's still a great magazine for cheap. too bad i missed the GoW3 one already =(
atmuh
what reason is there to get and read video game magazines anymore serious question
ella guro
what reason is there to get and read video game magazines anymoreserious question Retro Gamer has a couple "the making of" articles with developer interviews for old games that I've read some of and find interesting. That's about the only reason I'd subscribe to a gaming magazine, though. I always felt like Game Informer was the worst/least interesting gaming magazine. prophetik music
GI's way better than, say, Xbox 360 magazine, PC Gamer, or Playstation magazine. that's not saying much, granted, but it's a good read. i enjoy my issues. besides, it's 5 dollars for twelve issues. is that really a big deal? LuketheXjesse
Like ella guro, I have a thing for Retro Gamer magazine, though I'm not subscribed. In terms of publications focusing on recent material, I'm more of a Electronic Gaming Monthly guy, but I find GI pretty interesting.

prophetik music
for when you are pooping. honestly, that's when i read most of my magazine subscriptions
JCvgluvr
for when you are pooping. I came in to say this. All of my GI issues rest atop of my porcelain throne.
relyanCe
got my year subscription along with my edge card for 2$. it's not a half-bad magazine. i've already made back several times that on used game savings. I must say my hatred for gamestop was slightly assuaged by that.
The Coop
I've tried GI more than once over the years. I honestly gave it a fresh chance each time. But frankly, $5 for a subscription is too much. It, GamePro and "Official" magazines are good for catbox liners... and that's about it. IMO of course.
Mirby
The only mag I found worthy of subscribing to was Tips & Tricks... now you can't anymore...
Ferret
I used to have a subscription to Game Informer. I wish they'd release their back issues as bound volumes. That'd be sweet.
BardicKnowledge
GI's way better than, say, Xbox 360 magazine, PC Gamer, or Playstation magazine. that's not saying much, granted, but it's a good read. i enjoy my issues.besides, it's 5 dollars for twelve issues. is that really a big deal? I'll be honest, I'm usually ahead of GI by the time it gets to me. Still, it's usually well written and since it comes with my Edge card anyway, I still enjoy getting it. That being said, it's the only (gaming) magazine I'd ever consider subscribing to these days -- Edge is decent but super expensive in the States. prophetik music
since GI's technically the biggest-selling game mag in the states, it often gets exclusives that are still exclusive when they go to print. like, the 9-page H:Reach premiere, or the big Rage article last year, or the 8-page spread on GoW3. i know it's cool to hate on print nowadays online, but i still think that there's something to sitting there with a physical copy of something in your hands, reading stuff about games. while you poop. noTuX
I had a Game Informer subscription that was free from Game Stop. I enjoyed the info, but I really enjoyed GamePro magazines more. They have good information and I enjoyed the Tips and Tricks section that was in the back, though I don't know if they still have that feature. I was thinking about re subscribing to it, but I don't know if it is as good as it was. I haven't read one in years.
