Benjamin Briggs
how do I justify the price? 3D + starfox 64 + rayman 2 + ocarina of time master quest + I don't have a DS is it really that hard to understand why someone would buy this at launch? edit: what the hell is this shit about "working the kinks out" this is fucking nintendo we're talking about remember Edited March 24, 2011 by Benjamin Briggs
The Damned
Like the DS Lite hinge, right?
Brushfire
DSi XL has a suspect hinge too. But it was half of the 3DS's price. And I still can get Star Fox 64. Wait that game doesn't have Krystal in it. FUCK THAT NOISE!~!
Doulifée
just got mine from the shop :3 later guys.
Turtle
What is with all these people getting their systems early? Should I go to my local GameStop and see if they've got some in?
Overflow
just got mine from the shop :3 later guys. Sweet deal, man. Be sure to 100% test battery life and get us a solid answer for once.
FireSlash
I'll be curious to see what Nintendo can do with firmware updates to improve battery life.

Overflow
Actually, yeah, good point. Are we going to all exchange Friend Codes at launch? Or maybe it would be better when there's a game we want to play online. Maybe this doesn't matter?
Nonamer
Personally, I'll wait until I have more money to buy the 3DS. That or wait until prices drop. Overflow, I'm assuming there will probably be a thread for 3DS Friend Codes, or this topic will change.
Dhsu
Sweet deal, man.Be sure to 100% test battery life and get us a solid answer for once. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/03/cradled-by-inadequacy-the-3ds-battery-put-to-the-test.ars On a positive note, Amazon.com is indeed having a pre-order promotion. Pre-order a 3DS and get a $25 credit towards any launch title when your console ships! Now I just have to decide between Rayman, SF4, Steel Diver, Ghost Recon, and Samurai Warriors... Matt E. Waldman
Just preordered my 3DS! ...Only to find out afterwards that Dead or Alive: Dimensions is no longer a launch title. /: Sadly, the launch titles don't look so interesting to me. Also, tested out the 3DS at Best Buy again today with my roommates. We unlocked the system features using a button combination so we could try out the built-in stuff, like the AR cards! (simulated the cards using my phone) Those were lots of fun.
Tensei
I picked up mine earlier today. Got Shadow Wars along with it which is probably the best launch title. Haven't been too impressed by the 3D so far, but the graphics and the overall sleekness are really nice.
Gollgagh
yeah honestly the graphics are pretty nice idk why people gloss over that so much
Tensei
Forgot to mention the interface, it actually lets you tab out during a game by pressing the home button which is really awesome.
The Damned
Anyone try the music player yet? I heard the DSi one was... lacking in many regards, but maybe they improved it on the 3DS?
Tensei
Haven't tried the music player yet, but with regards to battery life; I've played Ghost Recon for about 2 hours yesterday, with sound on all the time, and 3D for at least an hour. I've played another two hours of Pokemon Black today, and the Battery indicator is at 3/4. I dunno how accurate this is, but the battery life so far seems to at least be bearable. For Nintendo, that should be a failure. They always prided themselves on a long battery life. Of course, they're obsessed with doing 3D, so whatever. Nabeel Ansari
I think that's pretty good... only 1/4 gone after means there's 12 more hours left.

Of course, they're obsessed with doing 3D, so whatever. ?? The battery life was predicted to be 3-5 hours for 3DS games and 5-8 hours for DS games. The fact that so far it seems to be holding up better than that isn't a failure.

Of course, they're obsessed with doing 3D, so whatever. I don't know about you but I've never really felt the need to play my handheld console for ten hours straight without putting it down or charging it I am almost positive that if 3-5 hours is not long enough for you then you might have a serious problem
DarkeSword
Yeah. Also when I play games I usually just plug the damn thing in anyway. Battery life is not really the massive consideration people make it out to be (for adults anyway).
Matt E. Waldman
Less than 24 hours until I pick up mine. :] Not sure if I should pick up any launch games. I MAY go for Street Fighter IV, but I already have the PC/Console version. Ghost Recon Shadow Wars looks interesting. My roommate (for whatever reason) keeps urging me to get Nintendogs & Cats. Wat do?
