orkybash
EarthBound 'Hotel Rhumba (I Want to Go Home)' EarthBound fans are bound to be delighted. Hell, *I* am, and I HATED the darn game... but that's just me. Anyway, Pancake chef serves up a double helping here, first with a Latinish mix that sounds awesome, then with a voice sample fades into a simpler, more touching melody that's equally awesome (but doesn't last as long). Regardless of your opinion of the game, I would highly recommend this remix.
Aetherwalker
Hotel Rhumba {I want to go home} is a beautifully done track adding a romantic latin spice which enhances the hotel theme when you first enter the hotel. The 'I miss you' dub at 1:43 is inspired, playing on Ness's periodic homesickness throughout the game. The dub nicely segues into a reprise of the hotel theme after Ness wakes from sleep. A brilliant and alluring remix of the hotel theme in Earthbound. An A+ to the Pancake Chef for this mix, who has made this gamer and music lover's day. ____________________ I'll revel in anonymity. ~Aetherwalker

Dev
Hotel Rhumba is an outstanding remix...get it now. The "I miss you" clip actually comes from the Earthbound credits...I just beat EB today, and was suprised when I heard it. Err...back to the mix. It kicks ass...download it. Deryck Khusial
this sounds like one of those old black & white romance/murder flicks, the first half anyway. good latin-esque tunage. i prefer the second half however. starting about 1:45, i like the bittersweet/regretful feel incorporated into the mix. the very end’s especially touching, good chords
Jakob Dorof
Not so hot about the hotel part, but that's simply because I disliked the song in the game. But the EB Zero Intro theme...Now that's fantastic. One of the best EB remixes, ever.
Smasha
Well, this is one of my favourite remixes on the site. A relaxing, enjoyable piece. At 0:34 it seems to really pick up with the nostalgic value by incorporating a common Earthbound theme. Progresses nicely, leading up to a change of tune at around 1:45 to Ness' Theme from the Game. The "I miss you" was a very pleasant surprise when I first heard this (and many other times!) as it casually brings you back to reality if you have been hypnotised by this song, and is a nice allusion to the actual game's events as Ness did sometimes become homesick and the end credits did include that "I miss you". jessthemullet
This mix is a great mix, and it gets stuck in my head for days. I especially love the "I miss you" quote, that was taken from the ending credits of the game. Definately a classic in my book.
TaintMasterMitch
A few of the kids at my school did a remix of this song at my school a couple years back. They did a fast version of the song, and I really liked it. When I heard this version, I was pleased to find that the song works both fast and slow. Good work Pancake Chef! This totally captures the feel of the game. Once again, amazing remix.
jordex
The Pancake Chef amazes me! The song here starts off with a great emotional sounding latin trumpet then later moves onto guitar The soundstone melody sort of threw me off here and sounded out of place but it quickly goes away "I miss you" Perfect for this song At 1:43 why do the background instruments fade out? They were sounding good but oh well, the excellent guitar tune makes up for it with all those bends Anyways, another great song proves the Pancake Chef to be one of my favourite mixers
Deductive Dave
While I absolutely love the source material, I feel this remix fell a bit short of its potential. The arrangement of the individual song themes was excellent, but I felt that the transitions between themes were abrupt and glaring, making it sound more like a "hooked on earthbound" medley, rather than a cohesive remix. On the positive end, I absolutely loved the opening. It pretty much follows the original hotel theme, but the piano part is what really makes it so awesome. Sadly, it only remains for a short time and disappears for a good minute, reappearing before the fade out to the guitar part. Ah the guitar section. Again, you can't get a negative response from me using this theme. One of my top 20 VGM themes. However, this solo acoustic guitar rendition could have been improved in my opinion by more realistic samples.
OceansAndrew
Sample quality is a bit dated, but they are well used and thoughthe arrangement is pretty similar, the shifts and transitions make it pretty nice to listen to. The piano has a great feel to it, and the guitar has some nice ideas. I love the source of the second song a whole lot, and it's melody makes the mix a lot better, just because it's something I really like. Objectively, this is pretty much a medley, despite it's pretty strong transitions, and the samples are slightly higher end GM. I think the concept is cool of the crew going into a hotel and then dreaming about back home as they sleep, but the additional arrangement is somewhat lacking; it's just really close to the source.
