Mirby
Sooo.... how long did it take total this time? Looks like less than 3 this time...
prophetik music
1135 was when i looked up the youtube and midi. i finished roughly now, 235. that's three hours. the episode i watched was roughly 45m since there were no commercials. so, 2:15 or so. not bad! i'm just about to upload it now. Jamphibious
Dayum prophet, you so efficient. Also mastering mine. Its just short of 2 minutes, and I kinda wish I could do more with it, but I'm not sure what else to do. I did fit the whole source in throughout so I guess its a decent mix. I can always expand on it later, I do like how it turned out.
Mirby
Heh, you beat your record from last year. At this rate, in a few years you'll finish in about 5 minutes. XD
prophetik music
thing is, i know i can be more efficient. i spent 20m looking for a drumloop and then just settled with a far more inferior version of it (you'll hear it clearly). if i'd known where that was, well, that puts me under two hours, or roughly 1:15 of music per hour. that's ridiculously fast for composing or arranging (not counting mastering time, of course). Nabeel Ansari
I was under the impression this thing didn't start yet. Damn. Time to break out my famous last-minute Friday mixing skills.
Gario
So I take it there will be a listening party tonight or tomorrow night? It would be sort of a waste of the compo if there wasn't.

Nabeel Ansari
By my own failure to sensibly plan for this, I'm going to resign. For some reason I thought the thread title being Phase One as well as the first post meant that Phase 2 had not started yet. I was also sure the due date was September 12th. I can't read. But whoever challenged me to do that song, if you still really want me to do it, I'll do it. PM me later and remind me.
Mirby
Personally, I feel that everyone should still do the songs they got. I also think that people need to remember that FBRC isn't an OCR-hosted compo, but instead hosted over at ThaSauce, so they should check there instead of here for updates and deadlines and such for this next year. Xarnax42
Long story short, making the deadline is pretty much out for me. :/The main issue is that our training exercise which was supposed to get me home on the 26th has been extended to Sept 4th. So, not entirely true. They got us back on the 29th, which was enough time to at least get a WIP up. I'm really happy with the beginning, and the rest is more or less undeveloped ideas that I rendered before I fleshed them out. I definitely plan on finishing this one. I really like it where it's headed. And, you know, I kinda promised and all.
Gario
I plan on having mine done tonight. It's gonna rock all your socks off. It kind of reminds me of my Sailor Moon remix from the good ol' PICO challenge days .
Moseph
I have a partly finished string quartet plus synths thing going on. It will be finished in some fashion by the deadline. Ha. Now it's a fully finished string quartet plus synth thing.

Gario
We win a larger e-peen to show off to everyone who didn't submit. EDIT: Oh, and what happened to Xarnax42's track? R:TS won't let me D/L it or anything

R:TS won't let me D/L it or anything Yeah, I think my title was too long. Copy the download link and add the truncated "3" and you should be good. Dave the Rave
I think it’s safe for me to say that this years FBRC, is a complete & utter disaster. Not only we didn’t get any official start of phase 2 of this contest whatsoever, but also we didn’t get a permanent list of who would be remixing what and those who wanted a different song didn’t get one. (as far as I'm aware of) Compared to the past contests, that had 17 to 20 entries, we only had 8 entries this year in a very short amount of time. I hope we get an explanation of what went wrong. I’m sorry if this sounds like I’m cross (which I am) and being harsh, but I am seriously disappointed with the end results.
Mirby
As I said, if people had checked out the page on ThaSauce, they would've seen the deadline. Ya, it was still a disaster, but there was one place that wouldn't be hard to find whatsoever that gave a deadline.
