Vilecat Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Nostalgic fans of the NES era, rejoice! For apparently 6 years now 3 dudes have been working on a game called Abobo's Big Adventure. I suggest watching both the trailer from the site and demo gameplay vids on Youtube. You can also give them your e-mail for beta testing. This is the bestest since SoR:Remake <3 Quote
Dj Mokram Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Ahah, yeah I saw the trailer for this one a few days ago and it really cracked me up. There's a plethora of references to old NES games, and the mash-up is really well done. The general aesthetics and tongue-in-cheek humor reminded me of Dorkly Bits as well. Will be checking this one for sure. Quote
ectogemia Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Bahahahhahah, that was awesome. Can't wait til it comes out. Quote
OceansAndrew Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 looks sweet! I had a good feeling! Quote
PROTO·DOME Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 So much win. Too much win perhaps. Quote
ectogemia Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 So much win. Too much win perhaps. THERE IS NEVER TOO MUCH W.... *sigh* sorry for shouting. Ya'll bitches sign up for the beta? You'd better. Quote
Vilecat Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 From the e-mail when I signed up a few days ago: "You'll be pleased as punch to know that you are beta tester #: 7369" Quote
Gario Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I saw this a little while ago and was very revved up about it. I love homages to old NES gaming like this. I'mma beta testing this mofo. Quote
DjMystix Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Just a reminder that it is releasing today (in about 12 hours)! can.not.wait!!!! Quote
Mirby Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 It's officially out. And I have already beaten it. Highly HIGHLY recommended, especially for those of us with fond memories of the NES (which is what... all of us? ) Quote
DjMystix Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Best way to play the game: 0. Arcade Stick or a 360/PS3 Controller (though X-Arcade would be so nice) 1. Joy2Key 2. Full Screen Flash 3. F11 to go full screen Quote
Malaki-LEGEND.sys Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 ...I guess it's easier to play this than swap in each NES game it shamelessly rips off individually... Quote
Devyn Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I played this game a few weeks ago and it is incredible. It is a shame that they can't sale it as a licensed game, as they obviously probably won't ever be able to. I just ordered an SNES style pc controller and once it arrives I will make it an effort to beat this game. Keyboard just isn't my style. Again, one of the best action games I've played in years freeware or not. Quote
