Ringworm128 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Am I missing something here? These remixes have been getting so much hate. I'm not an expert on music but to me there is nothing wrong with these remixes, they're nothing spectacular but IMO there's nothing bad about them either. So I decided to ask the biggest video game music experts on the web, what is exactly wrong with these remixes? Quote
Malaki-LEGEND.sys Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 They aren't bad, and I think that, stylistically, most of 'em could probably fit into Street Fighter IV's general theme. Well, save Dudley's which is pretty much a dud(pun very much intended). Did they straight up remove the original tracks from the game? If so, I can see why some fans would be in an uproar. If you can choose between them, then I don't see why people would be raging about it. Quote
Dhsu Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the original music either, haha. Just so repetitive compared to SF2. Quote
zircon Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 The character select remix is dope as hell. Quote
k-wix Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Jazzy NYC is in my opinion the worst of the batch, but certainly listenable. As someone who plays 3rd Strike often and listens to this quite a bit, they are all solid tracks. The character select, dudleys theme, and Elenas theme are my top picks. Capcom has been getting a lot of hate in general as of late. Quote
Zerothemaster Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 The character select remix is dope as hell. This. This. This. Quote
djpretzel Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 It's hit-or-miss, bizarrely - some of them are REALLY well done whereas others are quite a bit WTF; it's a difficult soundtrack to work with, imo, since it was (and remains) VERY unique. Quote
DarkeSword Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Longshoreman (Brazil) is the best one. I love that remix. Quote
