Mega Man: The Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet 2013

Recommended Posts

Man I'm the opposite.

Aural is dummmmmmm

Theeeeeery is kewllll

That's where I was at too EDIT: Granted, i didn't end up taking theory past high school (I took it for a couple weeks in college, but I was also working two jobs and playing on the drumline at that point, and school was really not doing it for me, so I dropped)

but you're a theory

does that mean you think you're really boring and not too difficult?

I can attest to him not being too difficult

;)

I've got a minute of material so far, I think it's shaping up nicely. Better than my first two entries I think...maybe...I hope.

Oh my glob, the lyrics to my remix ended up being a little emo. But I'm too lazy to redo them. I'll see about changing the key from minor to major... Oh well. For my first actual vocal track written, performed, and produced by myself, I don't think it's turning out way too badly.

Forget this, I fixed it and now my track is super-mega-awesome.

You mean you wrote the lyrics in Panzerese!?

...or cut them altogether!?

ohhhh. ZING!

No, actually I translated the lyrics into Klingon and it ended up fitting spectacularly (this reference is relevant because I've been watching Star Trek: TNG on Netflix). Hope you guys have been brushing up on your alien languages! ;)

Here's the lyrics to Killer Beets. I did all the vocals aside from the amazing solar man and strike man verses(which were Tuberz and Kuolema).

I'm listening to this, like, really listening to it, and it's kind of freakin awesome

HEY. Theory and aural shit are BOTH cool. I'm not a formally trained musician, so I don't quite have the perspective you dewds do, but shit if I haven't gotten a ton out of learning about theory and training my ear in a non-academic setting. And both have been fun. I think school just sucks the life out of most things.

This week at Flying Dog Platform's Headquarters:

Turns out Bass wasn't the only one with a hidden interest in Mega Man, and as a matter of fact, Duo has something to say on the matter.

We also stumbled upon the universal remedy for hangovers.

this thread got 80% sexier

All the cool people were in the bands that marched :!:

I played percussion in the pit 1 year then marched snare 3 years in high school :D

I've got a few minor tweaks left for my remix and then I'll be ready to submit. The only thing I'm not terribly happy about is that I didn't enunciate clearly enough on my vocals, so it'll be a bit hard to understand all the words without already knowing what the lyrics are. I'll post them in the thread once I've subbed it.

Finished my track and submitted. I haven't slept much because I couldn't work properly on the track until yesterday. Mastering may not be as good as usual because my ears are pretty tired (as is my brain)

That being said I'm happy with the results.

Submitted! This is my first ever solo vocal song, so I hope I did decently enough on the production.

General source usage:

Tornado Man - vocal lines

Mega Man - Chords during "chorus" section

Wily Castle - rhythmic patterns, bass solo sections

Lyrics:

Verse 1:

When life gets you down, you can't give up

Pull yourself together for those you love

Got one life to live, don't waste your time, this is all you get

In the end you don't want a life that's filled up with regrets

Chorus 1:

Crushed under the tedium you feel so alone

When the beat takes hold of you just let your passion show

You are much more than you seem

You've got to follow your dreams

Verse 2:

Time will pass you by without second thought

Do the best that you can with what you've got

Just one life to live so don't waste your time, give it all you have

Maybe then all the hard times in your past won't hurt so bad

Chorus 2:

Lost in anonymity you feel so alone

When the beat takes hold of you just let your passion show (let it show)

We are much more than we seem

You've got to follow your dreams
