Nabeel Ansari Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Can someone point me in the right direction for a good electric guitar sound? TGSFX isn't working for what I need. Quote
prophetik music Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 anyone know a good gate effect? i know i can just stutter the audio volume, but i've seen effects that have more features than that in a tight package. anyone got something similar? Quote
prophetik music Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Does anyone know a good "Choir-Uhh" and "Violin" Sample, Soundfont or Plugin? sorry for the double post. depending on what you need, Florestan's String Quartet soundfont on hammersound is pretty nice. it's very much a specific sound, though, and if it's not what you're looking for it's kind of annoying. ambinate Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I'm looking for some solid, modern-sounding electronic drums...I'm not sure if that's really a good explanation of what I'm talking about, but it seems like most of the kits and samples I find online are either based on old drum machines or acoustic kits. Both of which are cool, but not what I'm looking for - they don't really sound like what you hear in a lot of contemporary electronica. Unless I'm completely overlooking something with regards to sampling and mixing drum tracks? Thanks a lot for any help. Quote
Yoozer Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Try http://resonantvibes.com/shop/sample/19-thomas-pentons-complete-essential-series or alternatively, http://www.vengeance-sound.com/eng/DetailsVEC3.html (or any of its siblings for electro/minimal) Quote
ambinate Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Ah, thank you much, but I guess I forgot to mention I'm looking for free stuff right now... Quote
Siddd Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 hey. i was wondering. is there any super mario samples? Quote
DrumUltimA Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 HAY GUYS does anybody know where i can find some good saxophone soundfonts/samples? I need soprano, alto, tenor and bari. I've got some decent alto and tenor ones, but the sop and bari are hard to find. If they're free, even bettter--my price range is pretty much $0.00 Quote

Kicks Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuOPVZWgeGc Here's one of my favorite songs. It sounds very Capcomy. Any tips on identifying sounds, recreating, or finding them in this or any given piece of music? I'm super super new to music production, but I'm noticing that finding the right sound/instrument is one of the hardest parts. Any suggestions in general or about that song or other capcom songs would really make my day. Thanks! Quote
big giant circles Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 So it's been a while since Andy posted this. I think sometime over the next couple weeks, I'm going to do an overhaul of his OP and try to get it a little more up-to-date for everyone. Quote

Suggestion: Differentiate sites offering free, commercial, or free+commercial material in some way. Maybe differently colored links? Quote
Rozovian Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Would be good to include what format the plugins are in. It sucks to hear of this awesome and free synth that does everything and find it's not in AU format. Likewise for others if it's in AU/RTAS only and not VSTi. Or to find that the cool delay or reverb or modulation effect or whatever you downloaded isn't a soundfont. Quote
Mordi Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I recommend Audjoo Helix VST. http://www.audjoo.com/Helix/HelixAbout.html (149$) I use it almost exlusively. Quote
TheFixx Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Is there a free VST with a decent cello solo sound? There's one called "CelloFan" which is supposed to be decent but it won't output any noise on Cubase LE, which is what I use. Quote
A-RoN Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Is there a low-cpu consuming VST out there that emulates polyphonic or multi-channeled music ringtones? If VOPM is the closest thing. I'll just use that. I do prefer not to upload midi conversions to a cell phone and record the output to my PC. Quote

Nutritious Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 This sounds really damn cool! I want it! But I lack the $149. I don't even have a controller yet. LOL! There's an old free beta version they released prior to the full version if you can find it. It doesn't have all the goodies as I understand it, but still pretty powerful. I don't have a link, unfortunately, so be careful if you're going to go looking for it. Quote

Kaxon Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 It looks like all the piano links in the first post are broken at this point, so... can anyone recommend a good piano library that works in FL? I'm willing to consider spending money on one since I use the piano more than anything else, although getting a good free one would obviously be nice. Quote
