The Snee Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 I liked this remix, does that make me strange? According to the other reviews, it doesn't. You have failed, Mazedude. Your crappy experiment turned into a decent tune. You can never make bad tunes, Never! Bwahahaha! Quote
Solo Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 I really love this mix! To me it sounds kinda like Manheim Steamroller... it's got the same elements to it... Really nice! Quote
Shael Riley Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 I am totally in love with this mix. This is one of the most original, clever and inspiring titles to grace this site. Mazedude, you've impressed the hell out of me. I tried to ReMix this track a while back, but couldn't really get inspired with the--as DJ P put it-- "lack-luster" original, although I do like the tune, if only for nostalgic reasons. Happy industrial. Who'd have thunk it? Quote
Isosceles Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 i really like the remix. after listening to it a couple times, i noticed some of the sounds sound exactly like music i listened to on the commodere 64 (very SID-sounding) did the C64 have any part in this?? just wondering.... Quote
LibertyCabbage Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 your are good!! your make me play taht game beacause you music!! vary good i like one of first oc song i hear vary good your are good at music Quote
Durinthal Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 When I first began listening to this, it sounded quite fitting to the genre - and this song takes a lot of very unusual electronic effects and manages to make a great piece out of all of it. There's several breaks in the music throughout, and at 3:10 it changes into something completely different, a serene, soothing piece that's worthy of its own title; and all the while it still uses sounds similar to what's found in the first section. Not something I'd listen to daily, but worth checking out at least once or twice for the comedic effect of the first section and the calming melody at the end. Quote
Rayagon Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 This is funky, funny, and cool at the same time. SO much respect goes out to Mazedude for creating a genre-defying shot at the heart of badness. Mazedude crossed the line -- it's so bad it's good. He ventured past the point where up is down and good is bad. He is one with all and everything now. Here's my question, though. Take a look, on the description page, at the composers for this game. It took THREE FUCKING PEOPLE to write the original score? Quote
FrozenSun Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 This remix is way too addictive... I love it, but after three days of having it repeating in my head it started to get annoying. Mazedude, you did well... too well... Quote
Tenacious Jax Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 It may be a joke...but this song is one of my faves....ironically...i like the music...the game did blow tho...no argument there Quote
Lunevalkyrave Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 First of all Id like to state that I don't usually enjoy this genre of music, mostly becuase its done wrong and the sound bits are always disarray. This interesting peice of work has brought a new light to this undoubtedly questionable music style. His amazing blending skills shine brightly all troughout this masterpiece. I cant understand how he managed to take the worst sounds in this world and put them together in such a way that they acctually make a cathchy tune! Ive now listened to it at least a 100 times now and I still love it. Definetly recommended if your looking for something new and good. Quote
JM_Zen Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 It's good, and different. But. Well, it kind of gives me a headache. A little too much for me, but might be just right for some. What I'd like to see is a remake of this remix; but make it all in the vein of after 3:10. Everything after that point is beautiful, and I could see it working well in its own remix. Quote
Cadmus Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 awesome! sweet job on this one, it's definitely a crazy-sound-symphony. 1:53 is the best part with the delayed entrances. props! Quote
binster Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Tip top stuff. Mazedude knows his onions, and these are the finest of crunchy electro onion beats around. Binst Quote
Elex Synn Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 I typically don't step outside of games I've had some experience with, or played in other words... though in reading the odd review by DJP on this, I thought I'd give it a listen. Y'know, just to see what it was about... Maaaan, that's one crazy beat! Good shiznat all around Mazedude. Quote
Frickor Posted July 4, 2004 Posted July 4, 2004 O MAN....i remember this game....and it wasnt pretty....the music was a cheap knock off from indiana jones and the game just plain as shit....damn that blob. But anyway, this "for a joke" remix is pretty sweet for sumthin just made up from bits of crap. And if the game would have had mixes like this one, then it may have been a little better....good job man Quote
godsgroovygamer Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 I adore this mix! It's just so fun to listen to, and so musical for what it's made of! I usually don't like techno, but I think this is actually my favorite piece on the site (or at least one of them ). Very good. Quote
Blue_Drac Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Original, effective and well done. The engineering is masterful and the arrangement is very tight and crisp. Very much recommended. Quote
RimFrost the Tourianist Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Never judge a book by its cover.. This Mazedude has turned garbage NES music into a wonderful string of sounds .. Compelling Stuff !! Recommended for those who wanna stay happy Quote
Puffman Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Definitely one of the happier, jumpier beats I've heard recently. I recommend this for anyone who has had a bad day and needs something to fill their heads with joy. At least, that's my impression. Quote
DragonFireKai Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Strange remix, but I like it. it's... unique, to say the least. I wonder just what kind of files mazedude used to get those bizzare sounds... Quote
schwagnah Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 I was very entertained by this mix. I love the sort of psycho Mario feel. It's fun and silly, but that works well here, and the mix is a kind of feel good tune that you can't put down. I really enjoyed this one despite its faults. 8.5/10 Quote
jordex Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Sweetness! The distortion is what makes up this song. Awesome job on this one Mazedude! Quote
Tarrasque Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 It's like you struck the original soundtrack with a Do-Better-Ray. Whereas I couldn't stand ABAHB without ripping the speakers out of the TV (not that the gameplay was A+ material), this ReMix can keep me company all it wants. Quote
Tex Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Yeah, I liked. This remix has some strange noises. But they compensate in the good melody. Quote
Cyan_Ide Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Don't EVER play this mix after listening to some cool song with the volume way up before. The strange noises from the not-so-music-files kind of hurt. XD However, being that those strange sounds were intentional, one must give due credit to Mazedude for somehow managing to mix them into a song that works. While I won't be jamming to it on my mp3 player, the mix certainly IS interesting. Quote
