  1. So right of the bat, I'm enjoying the feel. It's still fairly dark and menacing, but it's got more of that "serial killer clown at a haunted amusement park" kind of menacing vibe to it, which is pretty fun. The arrangement is definitely solid, so I don't have much to discuss on that front. Solo writing on the steel pan and trombone are especially high points. You're right about your initial concerns regarding mixing, though. It's a little too tough to make out the drum parts for my taste. In particular, the piano tends to overpower them even when it's playing a background role (for instance, early on in the first statement of the A-section theme, when the piano is just playing that reggae "bubble" chord pattern, it's a little too much in the forefront. Reggae is a very rhythmic genre, in my eyes, so drums and bass should probably play a more prominent role in the sound, even with the more jazz-styled arrangement you've gone with. Additionally, if you can find somebody to play those horn parts live, I feel like the quality of this track will improve by an order of magnitude. The writing is so solid, but I just can't get past that "uncanny valley" feeling I get from the trombone. Seriously, though, keep up the work on this one. It's super good.

  2. Hi Everyone, Here is my newest ReMix i'm working on. This time i decided to arrange the popular Sub Castle BGM from Super Mario World. I tried to do something different by using a more "upbeat" approach, while still remaining the dark/menacing mood of the source. Probably needs some work on the mixing. 3. Well, judging from all of the hype and interest, I decided to push back the due date to Friday the 15th at 1PM. Voting due date will be the 17th Sunday at 8PM edit Glad that this inspired you to do something cool Brandon - can't wait for you to hear it. Might encourage me to do something, probably a piano/synth cover or something lol.

  4. I have no idea what technomanga is, but judging by a preview I heard earlier I bet it's totally enjoyable Looking forward to it!

  5. Hope you guys enjoy the mix when the album releases. To my surprise there aren't many Chemical Plant Zone remixes that aren't "technomanga" so I went for a funkier/rock approach.

  6. MILESTONE UPDATE: Thanks Odai! Happy to be aboard and I hope the Hobo feels better soon. Everyone send him positive and/or sexy thoughts to speed his recovery! As alluded to in my very first line of text on this post; this update is a milestone in that we have received our first completed track! @Ganaé has finished his track for Light & Darkness (otherwise known as the main title theme) and it shall have the honour of being the very first entry to be marked as Blue on the front page. Give him an enormous round of virtual applause! Deadlines are gradually encroaching so I hope you're all beavering away (by which I mean keeping busy, not building dams and causing entire rivers to divert course and flood nearby villages. It's OK if you are though; everyone needs a hobby). If anyone requires a reminder of when their WIP is due please feel free to PM me and I'll sort you out. There's still 9 tracks plus the bonus medley to be claimed so if anyone feels like picking up an extra source or if a new player wishes to enter the game, uh, I mean wishes to claim a track then please PM myself or Odai with your choice(s). Keep up the excellent work everyone! You are all awesome!

  8. Double-posting because deal with it We're getting good stuff in. WAV of "Let Me Know The Truth" from RiverSound, and "Prelude" from Rexy, two of the key songs we needed for the album. I am trying to get in touch with some other people to see if they're still doing stuff. The list of unclaimed songs got removed, recruitment is over. I think I'll end up doing "Deep Under the Water" since it's one of my favorites and it ended up on the cutting floor. Hopefully I don't have to do Elia too, I am still trying to find out what's up with kate and see if she's going to do it. As previously mentioned Sir Jordanius is also missing... If we figure out where everybody is and get things moving again, we could potentially be pretty close to finishing this off. --------- Cutting has taken place. If you don't see your claim listed anymore but still want to finish your song, please let me know. S E R I O U S B U S I N E S S

  9. Thank you friends. To help bring this to life really is special. It's the last big piece of the tri-FF experience (in hindsight that would have been a cool title for a triple-album). To work on these sibling albums for FF NES Trilogy has been a great experience and I appreciate everyone who helped create this whole thing. After losing ff9, it took working with so many brilliant artists to even give me the confidence to try doing a large album again. (FF1 and FF2 are around 20 songs each, not all that large). So in other words... gosh, thanks guys. You are an inspiration, and each WIP brings me much joy, like seeing a duck walking next to a pond. OK, so we have an album the size of FF1 or FF2 already finished here. That's awesome. But we still have roughly the size of another album left to finish. (half done...) But we can do it, I've seen it with 2 albums already.

  11. Seizure Machine's second major release, The Highly Inappropriate EP, is out now. Proceed with caution. Very explicit. Very weird. https://seizuremachine.bandcamp.com/album/the-highly-inappropriate-ep https://www.facebook.com/Seizuremachine/
