Oh boy, Jorrith, your works... They just never disappoint! This may be simply another favorite from you. The concept may throw some people off, but I'm a really huge fan of the narration here. In my opinion, it really helps to embrace the overall relaxing atmsphere here! Bravo, Stephen good job! Now, onto the instrumental. Chill, lush soundscape filled with mellow sax, sweet interplays between synths and keys and a guitar solo that makes the chills run down my spine? Yes, please! Sign me up! And give me more, this is just too awesome Once again, thank you all guys for the effort! Listened to this track 10 times in a row already, and I'm not gonna stop!

Oh yeah, that's actually like, the most obvious option no one here thought of lol. I tried out composer cloud for a while, but wound up canceling after a month and just bought stuff outright. East West's instruments are good, but most of them are very outdated in terms of programming, and Hollywood Strings, while amazing, is HUGE in file size and pretty demanding on your system. I'd say give it a shot

Inspire is pretty good. Inspire 2 also should be good. I personally would recommend Albion, because I think it's wonderful, but you'd do pretty well with either one, and they cover bases. They're also easier to use since they're in consolidated sections instead of individual instrument types.

Double post, but I see they're now coming out with Berlin Inspire 2! Which also seems great, and is aimed a more "emotional" stuff and is a bit cheaper than Inspire 1 (currently).

I would also recommend looking into Berlin Orchestra: Inspire. I'd argue it's the best "all-in-wonder" library out there and is about 400 and some USD. It was designed to be a "sketching tool" or for getting ideas down quickly, but honestly (and as the demos show) it's pretty damn great if that's all you have and I'd easily take it over Miroslav or Symphonic Orchestra.

I really don't think you need a MIDI controller, honestly. You can do anything a MIDI controller would let you do by properly routing controls to your MIDI outs and clicking things in - they're really only for expediting the process, if you're good at playing things in or recording automation live. I bought one when I was just starting out because I was under the impression that it was a necessity, but I've really never used it or any other hardware MIDI controller and I'm doing just fine (worth noting that I don't have piano chops anyway though, haha). If you're trying to save money, I'd say don't bother getting one yet and put that money toward improving your orchestral arsenal, if that's what you want. It's just another luxury.

This hits home man. The "I've finally realized is that I was so worried about being successful that I didn't let myself make the kind of music that I love" and "having unrealistically high expectations" mindset can be hell to work through sometimes (hence my other post lol). I mean, it's good to set a standard and expectation for oneself, but when does that go too far into an over-expectation & being unrealistic. I'm still trying to find that balance and make it a habit over time, but as @SquareWave is saying. Go through as many compositions as you can (without burning yourself out), there's always going to be discarded works for sure.

Avatar: The Last Airbender happens to be my favourite TV show (and only the greatest animated series of all time =P) but I also really love East-Asian instruments, and so this seemed like a perfect excuse to use both those instruments — koto, bansuri, dizi, shamisen, shakuhachi, sarangi — and some elemental sounds.

While we're all busy behind the scenes and none of the rest of you know anything about that... ...does anyone know anything useful about putting a listening party together? We had one for AOCC which was a lot of fun, and while a behemoth like this is quite the endeavor to do a live show-type listening party, something where we listen together would be fun. Anyone interested? Anyone know anything useful. And feel free to interpret the question as a hint that the release is near.

i wasn't super active then (also different name) but i was around back in 2002/2003. i haven't been around per se in recent years, but i have been thinking about doing a remix or two (or perhaps a remix album) at some point in the future
