  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! OC ReMix = 25 YEARS OLD! 4,500 ReMixes later, video game music is STILL an art form! We've got a celebratory Zeal mix by JSABlixer from the upcoming anniversary album TimeShift, and we'll be doing lots more over the course of the next year to celebrate the creativity and impact of this powerful community! Thank you to everyone -- past, present, and future -- who have made OverClocked ReMix what it is. Please share some positive memories on how you discovered OCR, artists and tracks you love (original VGM OR ReMixes), let's go! :-D

  2. I'm all in on this concept! Some of my favorite tunes are the credits themes and I don't see enough representation for them (SotN's ending theme, "I Am the Wind", or Metal Gear Solid 2's "Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday" are great examples).

  3. I am thrilled and humbled that TimeShift is a stepping stone for your inspiration. I love the concept. Ending credits are, after all, what many of us aim towards. You may, though, want to add a proviso about non-linear games such as simulators and strategy games where the credits are often found by selecting them on the title screen... they may or may not have their own theme that plays. Given the complexity of this, I wouldn't recommend necessarily enforcing a 12-month limit for this one. It took about three months before I had sufficient sketches of ideas for TimeShift, a few months later I had a couple of WIP's to send off to make the project official, and then as the deadline approached in September there was a last-minute rush of new material. And even then I had to wait for things to be finalized. I'm not saying "don't do it" but be mindful that the short timeframe will impose its own set of challenges. I'm definitely interested in this album idea, though, and I'm already thinking about ideas...

Just a head's up, most of the community is on the Discord server these days, and on the off chance either of you aren't there, hop on over! There's a hangout for the anniversary starting around 8:00 PM. (I'll be on an hour later after I get children to bed, which is something I cannot imagine typing back in 2003-2004, haha. :p) https://discord.gg/ocremix?event=1316531137803194460

  6. I appreciate the feedback! And per your question, I actually have done a couple indie soundtracks, all available here: https://mazedude.bandcamp.com/ That "tracker sound" isn't in high demand at the moment for OSTs, at least per my radar, but I'm rather proud of my work on MazeQuest 2 and The 7th Guest: Infection. :)

  7. It's like several seasons of Westworld mashed into seven minutes. "Cognitive Dissonance" would have been another good name for the remix.

  8. Absolutely incredible! The detail work on this is much appreciated, and there are a lot of cool harmonic liberties taken to make the well-known motifs fresh. I especially liked the bass drone around the 2:50 - 3:36 mark.

  9. The underlying Quad beat of this is incredibly groovy. I may or may not have danced to this.
