  1. You owe me a new monitor, dude, this made me spit soda out all ove the one I have now.
  2. Everyone famous for something in music hates the term they're famous for - it's like the first lesson you learn when you try to convince people you're deep and serious instead of just pretentious and arrogant. My Chemical Romance hates being called "emo", minimalist composers hate being called "minimalist", Green Day hates being called "pop punk", Lady Gaga hates being called "pop", etc. etc. They all insist their music has no genre or labels to put on it. YOU'RE NOT FOOLING ANYONE.
  3. To be fair, Masashi Hamauzu's been insanely busy doing hours and hours of pretty damn good music for the Final Fantasy XIII series, so I'm not really surprised the HD soundtrack is still lacking somewhat. That just seems natural to me.
  4. Also, here's a fun one my piano teacher taught me a long time ago. Play the scale of A minor ascending. Then when you get to the A one octave above, start descending the scale in A MAJOR. Haven't figured out what to do with that one yet.
  5. Just two days ago I made up my first victory theme out this: B minor, C major, D major, E major. (B, D, F#), (C, E, G), (D, F#, A), (E, G#, Unusually for me, as I'm typically slow as shit in making music, I composed the chord structure in the time it took you READ those four chords. I'd never even done a victory fanfare before. Something I was quite proud of indeed. https://soundcloud.com/meteoxavier/victory-fanfare-version-2 Now whether or not I orchestrated it correctly is another question.
  6. When are you going to do some new remixes? OCR's been missing some Skrypnyk in its releases lately.

  7. I listened to the HD soundtrack. A lot of it was good, but I felt it was really uneven too. I swear I think I still heard MIDI sounds as such in there where there didn't use to be MIDI sounds...
  8. What in God's na... Successful music post is successful. Thank you for sharing, Hunter.
  9. Yeah, this map keeps changing structurally every time I look at it. I think perhaps the permissions on it is a bit loose at the moment.
  10. Speak the King's English or GTFO. >:P

  11. I don't know why, but I really like this sentence. It's like one of those ice cream koans that sounds more poetic than it is, but still has its depth all the same. /offtopic observation.
  12. I seriously can't be the only posted Ocremixer in East Tennessee. I was sure there were others.
  13. I'm also going to make fun of you to boost other readers' perception of my superiority!
  14. Pinned! I'm part of the OCR Community now!
  15. My wife's been watching a Lets Play of it despite not being a South Park fan. I've also been watching it in small doses. Does anyone else feel like this is the South Park version of Paper Mario?
  16. If you're into ambient or soundscape-related stuff, get Absynth.
  17. How vague, late and probably arrogant as opposed to something decent and useful. Anyway, enough of that now. I'm a bit anxious for Komplete 10 to come out. If it comes with Action Strikes and Battery 4 or ANY of the Heavyocity stuff, it'll be super hard for me to resist. Just now looking at 9 and I see Battery 4's already in it. Ooh lordy, that's already tempting.
  18. I've tried SPC 700. It's either highly overrated or, more likely, I'm not using it correctly. I could hardly get any decent sounding SNES instruments out of it.
  19. A less hardcore response would read: "Yeah, KOMPLETE libraries aren't the best around, but if you know what you're doing and put some elbow grease on it, you can make high quality tracks all the same."
  20. As birthday-centric as this community has become over the last year, I'd sooner lick Satan's red-hot bedpan than I would allow anyone on this god-forsaken Earth to deny me the pleasure of wishing myself happy birthday on Ocremix. This is my favorite utterly pointless tradition throughout the year, more so even than Perfectly Spherical Friday the week before Halloween, and to really aggravate people like you this year, I'm wishing myself Happy Birthday TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE. You: Meteo, quit being the world's biggest gobshite and let things progress as nature intended. I'll do no such thing, wanker doodle dandy! I'm turning 43 this year. When I was little, doctors thought I'd either be dead or mentally impaired beyond all course of reckoning. Guess which one I chose. I'm an old man now. I fought for your independence in the Gulf War, I fought for your imprisonment in Vietnam War II, and by now I think I've earned the right to express myself however I want no matter how little it contributes to mankind as a whole. To celebrate yet another year of God's continued failure to hear your prayers and make sure I never have arms, life or internet access anymore, I will post that funny picture of the NICE BIRTHDAY man I stole from Coop. In Excelsius Terminus, bi-yatch.
  21. When are you going to remix music again, you beautiful bastard? I'm turning 40 or 50 or something this month and I won't live forever.

  22. WHOA - they're finally bringing Sampletank 3 out? I thought I'd be giving that to my grandchild at his high school graduation.
  23. Tried some of these out and... yeah, not really thrilling me at the moment.
