  1. I'd also like to apply, and you can find some example of my voice work on the latest Ocremix christmas album at the end of JH Sounds' track where I was asked to basically imitate a British radio announcer. Apart from that, I don't have skype, or a microphone, I'd have to record a video of me performing the voice. Somewhat lazy audition on my end, but it's 3:30 in the AM.
  2. Not too bad - I'm looking to do a chiptune album at some point some ways down the road, what are your prices for pixel art when you DO have a job? I don't mean that to come off rude, I'm just interested to know what you usually charge since you will have a job before I actually begin on the album.
  3. Classic Ocremix-style track, but the crediting of all the St. Johns is confusing the living hell out of me.
  4. Would the coming Summer be ok? And while generally trying to keep to the Paper Mario sound (I'm only really familiar with the first game and the one for Wii, not TTYD just yet), how much creative control do volunteer artists get? I myself am cool to do music for free, but I do try to avoid projects where there is a good chance I put 10+ hours in on each track for free only to have the supervisor say, "meh, not really feeling it, do it over." That's happened to me before.
  5. How far have you guys gotten and what would your time-frame be for composers? I'm definitely interested in doing work for an open-voluntary group like yours, but I'm not set up to do any new work for the next few months likely. When would you need tracks by?
  6. Valentine's Day was invented by Hallmark to sell cards and crap after the Christians stole Valentinos Los Dios from the pagans in 350 BC. Have fun using such a shameful day for your constant fornication.
  7. Hey man, what did you use to make the WAH effect in the clav of your Sonic and Knuckles mix? I'm trying to get into some funk music and a good wah effect or wah-clav is what I'm missing. :)

  8. My post wasn't trying to be negative or difficult, I was just sharing my thoughts on key points of the posting as well as trying to get more information for others. I've talked with these guys before and they're pretty reasonable programmers/employers, and already knowing Jake is hard to contact, I was looking to help clear the field out a bit for those who might want to apply by opening the suggestion. On the jingles bit, that's usually fanfares and short tracks that play when you get an item or someone joins your party. As they sometimes appear on OSTs and usually need to be cohesive with the rest of the soundtrack, they usually categorize as music and appear with the composer's name on them. Anyway, I did not intend to be difficult or obnoxious here and I apologize if I came off that way - I really was just trying to make suggestions and offer a bit more for those interested in applying.
  9. We're still waiting on whats-his-name to turn in you-actually-don't-know-what, and Usa's track is still taking a bit of time because he's busy on other things, but he assures me his track will be finished. I still need to fix up "Let Eternity Take Over", and its on my to-do list, I just needed a break from music and I haven't been able to make it come further up the list on my priorities yet. If I can EVER get a break from some of this other shit going on and pestering me and letting me recoup myself on a physical and spiritual level, I will get back onto it.
  10. Blaine turned in an awesome final WAV last night that I'm pretty excited for. Waiting on Rozovian to get to me on his thoughts for it (he seems to be harder and harder to find these days), but I'm pretty much willing to call it final.
  11. Jake is already not easy to get in contact with - he openly admits he rarely checks his email and Facebook and he never wrote me back on the commission work I was trying to send him, why wouldn't a SFX artist simply work under you? Additionally, you didn't tell us how you want those sound effects done up like. Are you wanting us to program SFX so it sounds like it comes from a SNES/PS1? Heck, you could use some old Roland and Korg SFX soundfonts for some of that stuff since they were often used during that era. If not, there are literally tens of thousands of free SFX you could find online. You probably would not need a SFX artist at all. Also, small 2-3 second jingles fall under music. That's Jake's job.
  12. But any intelligent person is a good skeptic, and any good skeptic openly dismisses anything he/she doesn't get their hands on, so while I read some words on a website and saw some pictures, I have no seen no empirical evidence this supposed "system" actually exists, and therefore it does not exist and anyone who believes otherwise is irrational and believes in fairy tales. THIS KIND OF THINKING MAKES ME SMART DERP. /pointlessrantdirectedathardcoreskeptics
  13. If you buy the Ultimate version, they send you a terabyte HD with them all installed IIRC.
  14. Hey Giga, I hadn't heard back from you in a while, but I keep getting a lot of views on my Meteocrity Vol. 1 album which I assume is coming from this project somewhere. Are you still in consideration for it or can you update me on that please? Thanks man.
  15. I might be interested, but will need to see what my work load is for this week. You just want a cover of it with higher quality samples and synths and such? That's all there is to it?
  16. While I don't really listen to a lot of metal, I don't recall hearing much that is "click" in the kick drums. Can someone post an example, maybe?
  17. That's fine, that's what I expected, I'm still just leading the war against unnecessarily vague answers for questions where specific answers could have been more useful. For some genres and sounds, there ARE specific EQ and settings you want to have, but others, like this, I expected it would be more general. Of course, since the only advice people ever give is "Well just use your ears and play with knobs and shit until you get it right and you should be fine", its always hard to tell.
  18. But what do you EQ in the drums to make it sound metal?
  19. A preset INSIDE of Studio Drummer or OUTSIDE of it? There is a "Metal" preset for it in there, but I'm not yet convinced it sounds like the real thing, and the latter is probably going to be hard to find, much less integrate.
  20. Today I got in contact with denofgeeks.us and they also were interested to hear from us once the project gets done. 11,300+ fans on their Facebook too.
  21. Rozovian handles a lot more of the artwork side of things than I do, but last I heard, we WERE still wanting some more art for general purposes, PR and some for the teaser video. Looking at your portfolio now - I like what I see, but I'm not sure how much these art styles will gel with the overall project. Still, the more the merrier as far as I reckon. What kind of stuff did you have in mind to do?
  22. Little score today; I got in contact with the owner of the SUPER RETRO GAMES Facebook page (which has over 17,000 followers) and he agreed to post news and share links of the remix album once it gets finished. So that will be a pretty nice little boost for exposure.
  23. Well, yeah, nobody would give away their best stuff free. I mean the full set.
