  1. I'm afraid I wouldn't know of places around BYU. That's down in the depths of Utah County (a.k.a. Happy Valley, a.k.a. Stepford County), where I rarely tread. If you make it up to SLC, that's a different story.

    Utah County is...weird.

  2. Thank's Roz! Here are a couple more.
  3. Went shooting in Salt Lake City this weekend, with some friends. I managed to come back with some good stuff. This one I make into a triptych measuring about 27in x 36in. I think I can market it pretty easily in this area.
  4. There is Anime Banzai. I think it started a few years ago. This years is October 8-10, in the Davis Conference Center in Layton. According to Wikipedia, last year about 3000 people attended. Looks like it covers anime, gaming (digital, card, and table top), panels, cosplay, etc.

  5. Cheers from a fellow OverClocker behind the Zion Curtain.

  6. We had a meet-up in Utah once. Four of us met at the Gateway and hung out there for a while, then ended up going to Calpis' place for gaming and food. August 8th, 2006 it was. From left to right: Moi (Black Mage) still with the long hair, Mouser X, Mario, Calpis, and Bones.
  7. I know this is a trivial question, but here goes. When I listen to music or watch movies on my computers, there are three points of volume control before it reaches my ears. First there's the media program's volume level, then there's the Windows volume level, and finally there's the volume knob on my speakers. Is there any optimum combination of those three that gives a better sound quality than others? Should iTunes and Windows both be at 50%, 75%, or 100% and me control the volume via my speakers? Does any combination result in more popping than another? Or does it all not matter?
  8. I can't speak for other places, but at a ritz camera you could expect to pay $40 for each 24x36 (I printed it as two big prints then cut them each in half) and about $30 to mount each 24x36 on foamboard. So for the whole thing you could pay about $140, unless you haggled them down. You could also go with four 12x36 banners, which cost $10 each. In which case the whole thing would cost about $100. The main difference is how each is printed. I did mine on an Epson Stylus inkjet. Whereas the $10 option would be off a toner-based printer. I actually tested that method, and it came out pretty well, but I decided that I had the Epson at my disposal, so I went for it. You could also probably save some money by mounting it somewhere else, like a framing shop or something.
  9. Here's one I printed at work today. It's a quadriptych of 12in x 36in giclée panels. The total size is 54in x 36 in (including the 2in gaps). I think I may make another and try and sell it.
  10. SALE (via ebay, so it need not be listed on the first post) Super poseable Revoltech Prof. Layton figure. I bought it on a whim but decided I really don't need it, thus I am offering him up on ebay. He only spent couple of weeks on display, so everything is in perfect condition. Even includes all original packaging! http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Revoltech-Prof-Layton-Figure-with-box_W0QQitemZ290424185410QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item439ea16242
  11. Didn't see this anywhere, so...spurred on by the 8-bit Dr. Horrible post, I thought I'd add 8-bit Dark Side of the Moon. I should really get around to listening to the actual DSotM one of these days... http://rainwarrior.thenoos.net/music/moon8.html
  12. The Black Mages - The Skies Above This song is so awesomely bad...I love it!
  13. So...after sneaking a peek at the latest episode, I am relieved, again suffering from laughter cramps...aaaaaand a little horney (in that now-that-the-Y2K-apocalypse-has-proven-to-be-nonexistent-let's-get-it-on kinda way).
  14. Booyeah, no longer are members of the community slaves to independent thought or creativity! Even I can remix now! I'm gonna get right on it!
  15. Loved the show as always! I has, on multiple occasions, caused me to burst out laughing while on my lunch at Starbucks, thus attracting many a curious look from the overweight people sucking their black cherry mochas. Oh, and not only is semen protein, apparently it's also an ingredient in your cooking. 0_o Seriously...WTF!?
  16. I may have missed the listening party, but my DKC2 cart arrived today, so that's a bit of consolation. I know what I'm doing tomorrow.
  17. Y'know, I think I might have a Pocket Pikachu around here somewhere...
  18. The Apes of Wrath! edit: Just discovered the entire Super Smash Bros. Brawl OST on some website...God help me...
  19. Hemo's Tetanus really had me. Loved the contrast of the soft orchestra and the grating, electronic breakdown(?). It was kind of like insanity takes hold then dissipates.
  20. I'm still on the first disk, but thoroughly loving the album! Hemo's Tetanus really had me. Loved the contrast of the soft piano and the grating, electronic breakdown(?). It was kind of like insanity takes hold then dissipates.
