  1. After using my kitchen scale to weight all the magazines, I come up with a weight of 55 lbs, and a postage of $35 via USPS Parcel Post.

  2. I am offering free, to a good home, my entire collection of Nintendo Power Magazines. You only pay shipping and handling. I have 100 issues ranging from issue 20 (Jan. 1991, at least I'm 98% sure that's where they start) to issue 136 (Sept. 2000). I don't have all of the issues in between (owing to a few subscription gaps over the years), but most of them are there (plus a few from 2007). Their conditions range from like new to well used. Most still have their posters, a few don't. I don't think any of them still have collector cards in them. They were a fun part of my life, but I plan to move out of state in January and don't want to lug them with me or throw them away; so if you're interested, they're yours! I'd rather give them to a fellow Nintendo fan boy and OCR community member than relegate them to a recycling bin. PM me if you're interested and I'll get them all weighed and get you an S&H price.
  3. Has anyone tried the Blue SnowBall USB Mic? Amazon has it for $71.37. Comments say it has great voice recording quality, but has anyone tried it for music recording?
  4. I'm finally listening to Ep. 1 Pt. 2 and loving it! The sheer randomness combined with the forum banter is hilarious! I hope this one sticks around.
  5. Anyone else pick up Nostalgia for the DS? It hasn't really floored me as being as awesome an RPG as, say, Chrono Trigger or Golden Sun, but I think it's one title to get. I'm digging the steampunk Victorian setting of the story, as well as the fact that it's set on our Earth, though be it combined with your standard RPG monster varieties. I've just now arrived in St. Petersburg, so I'm still early in the game. I guess it stretches all over the world, including Japan. What are everyone else's thoughts?
  6. At first, the album struck me as sort, at seven songs; but small packages = good things, eh?
  7. I guess that doing VGDJ was easier back when Pixie and Zirc only had their classes to worry about. Oh, the hated realities of post-grad life. Sometimes I'd give anything to be able to re-live college and just worry about my classes and let campus life be my world again. Sigh...memorieeeeees[/Ren & Stimpy] Sometimes the planets are just out of alignment. In the meantime I shall eagerly await the next VGDJ (there is something to be said for delayed gratification).
  8. Loving "When the Smoke Clears"! I could tell that was a Taucer before I even noticed the artist data. Can't say I care at all for "Shit on Citan," though. The whole death metal thing just doesn't work for me. Great album, though! Certainly one of the best, to date.
  9. At the bottom of the main forums listing, it says that the "Most users ever online was 702, 03-30-2008 at 09:19 PM." I'm trying to think back, but am drawing a blank. Did something big happen that night (like an album release), or do you suppose it was just an anomaly?
  10. I have 150-ish remixes some properly labeled and tagged, others not so much, but that's about it. I'd certainly like to see the site get some life breathed back into it. I liked having both OCR and VGM as music sources. Luck to ya!
  11. That's another one to watch for $5 sales on Steam.
  12. Though I know some here have their critiques of Jonathan Blow, but Braid is an excellent game on the indie genre. The game mechanic is pretty unique, as is the game art. The music is also beautifully atmospheric, albeit licensed from musicians like Shira Kammen and Jami Sieber. It's usually about $15 on Steam, but if you keep your eyes on their weekend deals you can find it for $5.
  13. Don't rub it in! My only gripe about The Protomen is that they don't tour much beyond Tennessee.
  14. I gave it a try, you do get starite...but it doesn't win you the level.
  15. So far I'd have to say that my favorite track from the album is The Good Doctor, those last lines from Dr. Light...I want to cry from the sheer awesomeness... They've waited so long for this day. Someone to take the death away. No son should ever have to say, My father worked into his grave. Men sleep tonight with hands of bone. They will awake with hands of steel. And with these hands we will destroy. And with these hands we will rebuild. And we will stand above our city, rising high above her streets. From tops of buildings we will look at all that lies beneath our feet. And we will raise our hands above us, cold steel shining in the sun, and with these hands that do not bleed, my father's battle will be won!
  16. Have you heard The Protomen by Makeup and Vanity Set? It's the original album...in chip tune form.
  17. My album finally arrived yesterday. Trés awesome! You have to buy the physical album and read the book as you listen to the music to fully comprehend the story and know what's going on, especially during the instrumental segments. I agree with you, there. I loved the quasi-western/tech-noir they had going in their first album, and in the early portion of Act II. It really sets the scene. I still plotzed when I heard the album, though. I think the different styles are a way to differentiate the older, more grizzled life of Dr. Light from Joe, the younger, hot generation; as well as the old city vs the new. I also noticed that Act II is at the top of Amazon's opera album sales.
  18. According to my join date, a few days over five years, now. Right at the release of Kong in Concert.
  19. Speaking of dinos, be careful if you should ever spawn a meteor. If you drop it from too high you nuke the stage.
  20. I'm glad to see this project (these projects?) starting now. I seem to remember previous Christmas projects released, like, right on Christmas day?
  21. If you spawn a teleporter and ride it or use it, it takes you to 5th Cell HQ (I think)...which is under attack by a zombie. If you don't stop the zombie, it infects everyone in the room.
  22. Via XKCD, you can also summon the Large Hadron Collider...and it too makes a black hole...awesome...
  23. Candle is lit, the sky is dark, a Manhattan is in-hand, VGDJ is playing and all is right with the world.
