  1. I'd argue that the Direct Hit rewards skillshots by having a lower splash damage radius. I'm with you on the Loch n Load though, as every good demo I know fires mostly direct shots anyway (as opposed to Soldiers, who often fire for feet/area damage to set up a better 2nd rocket). The only thing unquestionably better about the Direct Hit is that it makes the Soldier much better at clearing buldings; specifically, mini-sentries take only one DH rocket, while they require two normal ones. Edit: Any thoughts on what a 3rd uber for the Medic might do? My only thought is the ability to heal multiple targets at once for a brief period of time, which would not be as useful as the other two...
  2. I have to have the Demoknight stuff -- love melee combat! I'm hoping that we see some new toys for Medic and/or Pyro yet (maybe the beta stuff?)
  3. When you make your Endless Lobby, you have to specifically set the version as "Both" -- it defaults to an AE only lobby. Hit me up on 360 sometime!
  4. I saw Uematsu at the PLAY! premiere in Chicago...and only brought one of the two FF soundtracks I own for him to sign. Gotta remedy that by winning this contest! :p
  5. New idea: Pick Parasite with Tundra on your team. Possess Tundra's scout -- Parasite then moves invisibly through the enemy jungle at 500ms, tracking down that low HP jungler. Emerge from bird form on top of their head, rock them. So many shenanigans to try with him

  7. Great episode this week! It's nice to see the show back on-track discussing video games (though last week's episode about a lack of an awards show was drastically needed).
  8. I've got a newbie account now -- RTBardic. Ashe unlocked first -- I figured it'd be a good idea to get someone I could be consistent with. I'm still playing a lot more HoN than LoL but plan to play a game or two a day over the summer to build up IP.
  9. I always felt that sailing in WW was very quick -- then again, I played Phantom Hourglass first, and jeez sailing sucks there.
  10. I just downloaded LoL and am eager to learn stuff! It seems a little more casual than HoN, which is good. In any case, which (if any) of the cheap heroes should I be unlocking?
  11. Silouhette's passive aoe damage effect was nerfed in the most recent patch -- it follows that Ra's passive aoe damage will also come down. I'd suggest that 1.5/3/4.5/6 health regen would be plenty also...guess we'll find out if S2 agrees next patch.
  12. Empath is great in 5v5 -- the ability to seal off pathways is great for ganks and the end of teamfights, as you can cut off retreats. Not to mention that buffing a carry so much (80 damage, 80 attack speed, 80 movespeed) at level 16 really helps them get the edge over the opposing carry later on, while keeping you safe to cast wall, dot, tablet, and stormstick.

  14. Tommy usually gives the site a shoutout -- I was at a performance once where they were choosing someone to play Space Invaders, and he mentioned that I was probably overqualified to play based on my OCR hoodie. A shame, because those MAME cabinets they give as prizes look badass.
  15. As someone who has finished the NES games, I think that the Master Ninja mode of Ninja Gaiden Black is one of the most difficult playthroughs of any video game ever made. One thing they definitely didn't skimp on (until next-gen NG2) was difficulty.

  17. I'm playing regularly on 360 already, and PC when it releases in July. I've already had matches with Arek and Jhawk, and seen Vimk practicing on 360. Zircon has said he's going to get it also. On the PC, Malaki, DarkeSword, Newt, and myself will all have it -- maybe more. In short: Pick it up -- sf4 is back!
  18. Sticking Ultra on the end of a combo that's already 10+ hits or greater is a waste of meter imo. Save it for a simple hit confirm and do 400 damage instead of 100 (or just 50 after 40 hits). Otherwise, lots of impressive stuff there.
  19. They don't need Sakaguchi's permission for the story, as it's company owned -- you'll notice that his name doesn't even appear in the opening credits of FFV/FFVI GBA.
  20. Oni is amazing, some of his stuff is super hard to block -- just ask Arek (though his Yang remains slightly better than my Oni, I'd say). GGs to both JHawk and Arek -- gotta play more asap. Loving AE!
  21. Phil Kollar of Game Informer gave the conference a C-, which I feel is generous. I have no Kinect and don't play FPS games on my 360, making it a D- from me -- the only game I was interested in was Tomb Raider, and I will probably get that for OnLive instead.
