  1. The Airship theme is also (mostly) from SMB3, though there's a new 2nd section.
  2. Best teamwork moment yet: In levels with propeller boxes, have a friend stand on top of the box. Then pick up box and fly -- your friend becomes this amazing jumping missile (World 4 airship easy win).
  3. The unlockable superplays are amazing -- stop by Peach's Castle in World 1 to unlock badass videos.
  4. Yeah, that burning hotel (first level of first campaign) was amazing. That charger made me laugh a ton. Also, the finale with the gas cans does indeed suck some serious balls -- I wasn't able to finish it on Advanced. Hopefully tonight (when all of you lame employed people get home).
  5. Addie and I need to storm you place sometime for 4-player action OA. Can't imagine how awesome playing with a full cast would be after loving 2-player co-op so much.
  6. I really think that both Barbed Armor (at slightly more money, but around the same price point) and Plate Mail (cheaper, but upgrades to GREAT gear) are both better alternatives than HotBL unless you're planning on jungling as Zephyr or Legionaire (the blocking does more early than armor, which gets much better lategame). Blocking the damage is near useless in the lategame compared to having an additional 6 (barbed) or 10 (plate) or 15 (daemonic, frostfield) armor. Additionally, the additional effects -- barbed's damage return, daemonic's TWO auras and super attack speed, and frostfield's mana + AOE slow are all much better effects than the regen on HotBL in a teamfight. Since when has a teamfight lasted long enough to regen 1000 HP on +6 regen alone anyway? Teamfights last 20 seconds max, and then one side is running the hell out of there.
  7. No stuns is made up for the auto-Nullfire effect if you cast on him directly.
  8. On the difficulty: My wife has run out of lives 5 times now, usually due to her stubbornness in refusing to stay in a bubble during a particularly hard part (she usually loses lives in chunks of 7 or so). I have run into a few tough spots, but nothing mind blowing...but i'm only on world 4.
  9. In short: It's so awesome my wife if playing through it with me. Get it. Slightly longer version: Really good use of the wiimote tilting controls, which surprised the hell out of me. Great, great stuff, though I'm missing Koopa Mario from the DS game quite a bit (the Penguin Suit equivalent quits sliding after a short while unless you're on ice). Much, MUCH better than the DS game though, whoever designed these levels is amazing. Also Nintendo, fuck the Propeller Suit -- we want raccoons back.
  10. Throwing Booboo felt really, really damn good. Great stuff though -- IMO Pebbles throw to initiate is amazing. Throwing a char like MQ (right after she ults) or Rampage is just icing.
  11. Brad, any chance of getting a discounted video card through you around black friday? I'm planning on spending around $150, and hoping that I can get a Radeon 4890 or the Nvidia equivalent for that due to thanksgiving sales (and the new line of cards just coming out making it relatively obsolete).
  12. Blood Hunter + Valkyrie is a badass combo. Blood vision sets up amazing arrow shots
  13. Roof turret: Just run by it, using your dodge to get ahead of the gunfire. Turrets in the last car: Drop in from roof, and hoof it to where you need to go, turrets shouldn't hit you more than once or twice.
  14. Classic UT was a blast, thanks for setting this up FireSlash. Does everyone still have Jedi Knight II? That'd be completely badass. Edit: The train was me, I figured I'd get the drop on you guys.
  15. The only FF game that really felt like it needed a cheesy jpop song was FFX's lake scene anyway. I'm just hoping that the ending theme wasn't well-integrated into the rest of the game (FFIX) and then we don't get to hear the original in the credits. Assuming that isn't the case, I'm fine with it.
  16. I just tested my connection to the server, and everything seems to be good -- see you guys in half an hour.
  17. I might play, depends on if the place I'm at has wifi. Also, it'd be _really_ sweet to get a game of Worms Armageddon going sometime -- there are patches out to get it at modern resolutions here.
  18. Fact, video game playing fraternity men are in the minority -- dunno how this stereotype came about.
  19. Not as well as I'd like! Grad school paperwork is coming due, I got a bunch of unrelated committee stuff with the UMN dropped on me, and am drowning in paperwork. Dunno if I'll be able to finish the track as a result, but will continue to try. :(

  20. I have a question, mechanics wise: I currently have two archers, a mage, and an idiot (Alistair). Every time one of my archers acquires a target, he thinks he should run and close the distance immediately...and then get pummeled by the three or four new enemies he triggers that I wasn't ready for. Is there a way to make him wait, forcing the pinned down foe to run to us, instead of the other way around? It'd work much, MUCH better if this is easily doable. Note: I have 3 "gambit" slots, and don't care what needs to go in them as long as he stays put.
  21. Damn, this game is choking my graphics card. 7800GTX runs it fine on lowest settings, but I want to crank the hell out of this. Hopefully I can upgrade to the Radeon 4850 soon...
  22. As a corollary to my previous post, my new character is Dragon Age is an extremely hot elvish rogue.
  23. Yeah, Outpicked game 1 was the first game I wasn't upset about the loss in a very long time -- Drasha's players were just flat out superior to ours. Similarly, while I did my job as Glacius in game 3 (ult 2-3 before dying, buy wards a lot), most of the players were still better than us, which was fun. The victories and losses are much better when you're not thinking "man, my friends let me down" <--- not a great attitude I realize, but it definitely goes through my head.
  24. I change it up -- when I play a Bioware RPG, I tend to follow the Diablo rules and make guy warriors and mages, but female rogues. Ariana the rogue and Rishon the mage are my "standard" fantasy characters for everything. I don't usually play the warrior archetype as I try to avoid too much left click in my games.
