  1. So, due to various difficulties (that I'm sure many of you have noticed) over the past weekend, I have obtained a separate Steam account for the purpose of playing TF2. Those of you who had me previously friended will most likely need to re-friend me for the one I will actually be playing on. I'll still be going by the same handle though - [OCR] Sporknight. Unfortunately, this means I'll have to re-earn all those unlockable weapons and hats, but it'll be a nice opportunity to get a clean slate with stats and stuff I suppose. Also, Baha, if you could re-add me to the reserve slot, and you can prolly remove the old ID. You can go off the steam ID I was playing with June 1st on the server. Thanks!
  2. This happened to me the other day, actually. I logged in and just started getting dumped with items - I have at least one of each of the hats, dupes of most of the old unlocks, and got a Huntsman and the Ambassador in the process. It stopped only once my backpack was full. No clue how it happened, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the most recent update.
  3. So, a question about how HLstats records headshot % in TF2 - is that only for headshots made while playing Sniper, or is that global headshots across all classes?
  4. So, hate to derail this lovely conversation, but I felt the need to share this gem: pl_donkeykong_final:
  5. I got the same error, but when I went back to it I saw that I joined it anyways. Weird, but it still worked out. EDIT: Also, I checked the first page of the TF2 thread, but didn't see it there - where is the password for the OCR-only nights? Am I just blind, or do I need it to be PM'd to me? And if so, could someone? Thanks!
  6. Maybe if they frame the movie as a story of the girl telling a story to the horned child about his "father", and how he ended up in the forbidden land with the girl, bartered with a god, and saved her life. That way, you could keep a consistent dialouge and narration throughout, while keeping the protagonist mostly silent.
  7. I enjoyed the first one, myself. Good concept, . I was playing on the PC version with the extra missions, so it didn't get nearly as repetitive for me. Of course, the controls were suffering from some sever console-itis, but I have a gamepad now so that shouldn't be as much of a problem. The game still had its flaws for me, though - but, if Ubi is at all smart, they'll take the sequel as an opportunity to address those flaws, like real disguises and more believable hiding from guards. My biggest complaint from the first one would have to be the endgame, honestly. A game built on stealthy running and hiding breaks down into a mess of you vs 30 guys, running in circles to desparately try and regain health (well, "synchronization") before picking off one or two more. That was no fun. Still, Ubi has a lot of potential for the sequel. I look forwards to seeing what else they show and discuss before passing judgment based off the first.
  8. So now that I'm off co-op and can browse these forums during the day, expect to see me around quite a bit more. My roommate has started playing with me on the server - he goes by Prophet Orwell. I'll talk to him about registering on the forums here, too.
  9. Although I have no voiceover experience, I do have a fair bit of acting under my belt, and I'd love to audition. I just have a few questions, though. Are there specific scenes you're looking for for each character to audition with, or should I just dig up a transcript of the game and ctrl-f my way through until I see something good? Also, I have a headset, but no recording software. Is there anything you'd recommend, possibly so I could record and listen to myself before auditioning? Also, I'm assuming that there's going to be a need for said software when actual recording starts, so the sooner I could get it and start tinkering the better.
  10. I sat through about 10 minutes or so of their "pilot" episode. Only Yahtzee's rage kept me engaged even that long. It's basically nerds talking about video games and Yahtzee insulting people every minute or two. He seems to perform better talking obscenely fast into a headset mic with a prewritten script - either that or (and this is the more likely truth) his friends just aren't funny...
  11. Congratulations guys! Now, when is the (oh please tell me it's OCR themed) wedding?
  12. There is a fairly strong potential of me making it to this. Should be fun, eh?
  13. This game got my brother, who normally cant STAND multiplayer games, to say he loved it. It's definitely GOTY material, imo, and I cant wait until next week to play all the levels. Also, protip for Boomers: If you get barfed on, just get your back to a wall and spam the hell out of melee. Actually, melee spam seems to help a lot in general, I've found, so long as your 'mates dont shoot the hell out of you too.
  14. Well, I just went jogging this morning for the first time in a while, and...I'm not dead! I went up to the art museum, ran up and down the stairs once, and ran back. I'm guestimating it's about 2 miles from my house, and it took about 20 minutes. I'll work out the exact mileage later, and try to get "harder" data. Earlier this week I tried stopping by at the athletic center to hop on a treadmill/elliptical/something, but this was at around 5:00 pm and it was really crowded. I dunno if I'm gonna keep trying to do that, or what. The other option is, if I really want to do this on a regular basis, to get up about 20 minutes earlier on some days before work and go jogging then. Now, to go shower and eat. I'll check in again later.
  15. Didn't Roland the Gunslinger (King's Dark Tower series- read it) have an effective way to reload 2 revolvers at once? I think it was something where he kept the gun on his finger, flipped it back, grabbed the bullets from his chest holder thing (bandoleer?) and reloaded it. I could be totally wrong though - it's been a while since I've read that series.
  16. Well, a goal for myself at this point is just getting back onto the treadmill/jogging again on a regular basis. I'd like to be able to make it to the Art Museum and back (about 3 miles) at a continuous jog. Weight loss isn't my concern, just building endurance. I need to start eating better too - cheesteaks aren't exactly fitness food either. It's funny that this thread showed up today, actually, because I was planning on hitting the treadmill after work today, but the gym was full and I'm too chicken to run outside right now with the cold and potential rain. That, and there's a chance I'll be doing theatre stuff tonight too, and I dont want to kill myself before that. Last year I had looked into some cardio tips, so I'm aware of about the pace I should be going at if I plan on improving endurance. Any other advice people have would be appreciated, though. As for more specific goals, I'd like to see about shooting for 3 miles in 20 minutes. I'll be back with a more specific time/distance once I get back on the mill to judge myself. Also, has anyone heard of the P90-X program? My friend is using it (or, perhaps, being abused by it) to get back into shape for his fireman PT, and cant stop raving about it. It's basically a 90 day workout program designed to build muscle and endurance etc etc - it comes along with a dieting plan and all. Said friend is coming up on day 30, and claims it's doing wonders for him, despite how sore week one was hehe. I was just wondering if anyone else has heard of it, used it, hates it, swears by it, etc. I'm considering giving it a shot once he's done, but I want to do a little research.
  17. I swear by affliction these days. Fast, efficient, fun, etc. Let me cook up a good build... http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IbxrrhrMoiMo Start with that, then get improved Howl of Terror and Contagion. Carry on with Unstable Affliction, Pandemic, Death's Embrace, Everlasting Affliction and then Haunt. That'll get you to level 60. If you want to try the Felguard, wait till level 60 when he has all his trained abilities filled out first. Basically what you want to do with affliction is send the pet in while warming up a Shadow Bolt. Once the bolt is in the air, start casting Immolate (or Unstable Affliction once you have it), and resume with the rest of your dots. By the time you've got enough dots on the mob, and it's wailing on you, and your pet is munching on him, spam drain life, and switch to drain soul right before it's dead to get a shard + the extra mana. Alternate between dark pact and life tap when needed. With Improved Felhunter, your puppy will get mana back each time he uses shadow bite. When you get improved howl of terror, and get ballsy, feel free to try dotting up more then one thing at a time, then once they're all on you pop the instant HoT, watch them scurry and finish em off. That's my reccomendation. Dont even bother with fearing them unless you get more then one, just spam drain life once they're on you. You should have minimal downtime this way, and still kill stuff at a good rate.
  18. In all honestly, I think it's a good call. This lets more people experience endgame content, and means people dont have to flip shits over min/maxing these new skills and builds to stand a chance of winning. Gives Blizz a chance to fine-tune stuff before Wrath and all. Here's to hoping they do actually know what they're doing...
  19. I feel ya. Warlocks aren't looking too hot right now either - it's like my DPS got buffed 20% or so while everyone else got 50% or so. Hopefully we'll scale at 80 *sigh*. Good news is, Blizz has plans to tone down the inane burstyness of ye ret paladins. In the meantime, my guild is gonna STEAMROLL Black Temple tonight. We rofled our way thru SSC in 2 hours on Wednesday, and woulda done the same to TK if the server didnt FATAL ERROR on us. Illidan's going down before Wrath launches, I know it.
  20. Hear hear! Lookin forwards to hearing the delicious beats get dropped by the dropper of beats.
  21. If it's any consolation, Blizz getting the servers up and running was an all-day event too. When I went to bed around 12:30 EST, there were still plenty offline or incapable of login. Up now, though, finally - barring the rolling restarts.
  22. Crying I haven't done to music before (ENTIRE TEAM IS BABIES), but one sequence in LoZ: Twilight Princess comes to mind for raw emotionality, especially thanks to the music. BRACE FOR KINDA SPOILERS: It was right after the third dungeon, where you're stuck in wolf form and Midna just got the crap kicked outta her, and you're racing her to Zelda to try and save her. END KINDA SPOILERS I love the Tattered Slippers remix on the site, but I hadn't heard the source for it until that scene there. Hell, that was probably one of the most emotional moments in a game ever for me, and the music had a lot to do with that.
  23. Not officially, no. There's a chance it'll be Engineer, because the last blog post was titled "Git along there, little doggies" - but that could just be a red herring, seeing as the one before that was titled "Gentlemen", which is pure Spy. Or, they could just throw everyone for a loop and do something else entirely. Usually the Packs come for classes that are underplayed and need a little TLC, so they give a) achievements so you cant walk 2 feet without bumping into said class, and new weapons to offer some more versatility and awesome. So I guess I'd start thinking in those terms...
  24. My brother got the downloadable version already. He's trying to convince me to get the Galactic edition, and we'll split the swag and the extra price. 15 bucks for sharing the extra crap, or tell him no thanks and go with the downloadable version?
