  1. Having a workout buddy is crucial. There were three of us doing P90X in our apartment, so we could all go in together on food and cheer each other on during workouts (not enough space to all go together). We all kinda crumbled at the same time too - I stopped due to production week of a play eating up all my time/energy, and the other guys stopped pretty soon after that. If I'm feeling gutsy (and know I won't be doing a show for a while), I might try it again though...
  2. I've been maintaining a fierce goatee for the past few months, that I have no plans on getting rid of. Are there any cigar-smoking (I have one I've been saving for a special occasion) goatee sporting (I might settle with mustache or just chin) Bond characters/villains I could shoot for? I can't think of any off the top of my head.
  3. Psh, Connery has a beard. Close enough for me.
  4. My mom used to work part-time at a rec center in registrations - January is always the busiest time of year there from all the New Years Resolution-ers. By February though, you get significant dropoff. Shit aint easy. If you really want to commit to getting into shape, set concrete goals for yourself. Hell, for any sort of resolution, being as clear as possible will help you meet it. Don't just say "I'm going to start exercising!" - instead, say "I will go to the gym Monday, Wednesday, Friday, go jogging every morning, and lose 15 pounds in 3 months!" If you want to really invest yourself in working out, research P90X. It's 3 months of a variety of intense hour long workouts with minimum equipment that you can do from home, as well as a comprehensive meal plan. The meal plan is almost harder to follow than the workouts, but the payoff is great. My best friend (formerly a fatass) got into shape for the Army with it. I did it for a month, but had to drop for time constraints - in that time, though, there were definite improvements.
  5. Heh, learning guitar is actually a good one for me, if not original. I'm actually living with a left-handed guitarist as well as right-handed now, so I can borrow Lefty's guitar when he's not around and learn from Righty. There's an open mic night on Thursdays at Drexel, and I think a performance there before 2011 is in order. Fun fact: we found a video of someone who worked out Baba Yetu on guitar. We're gonna make it happen.
  6. There's always The Boris Option, as I'm calling it. Or maybe Oddjob...
  7. Hmm...I'm pretty sure last year they were pretty generic/nonspecific, in that I don't remember them. This year! Hmm...all kinds of potential for this. Priority one for me would be spending less money on food - shopping more, ordering less, etc. This is tricky because I'm living with 5 other guys, 1 of which is a kosher Jew who does his own shopping, and another who orders on his own all the time, etc etc. We used to be in the habit of regular shopping/cooking, but fell out of that routine for whatever reason.
  8. Pre-regged! I'll probably be staying either at home in Northern VA and drive up, or be crashing at Prophet Orwell's since he lives in Baltimore (near Level 99's). I'm kinda cross-posting from what I said in the MAGFest transportation etc thread, but I'd be willing to take up in a hotel room if someone's looking for a warm body, and alternatively my parents are cool with someone crashing at our house - but that may be Prophet Orwell, unless I'm in Baltimore with him. So it's all tentative beyond the fact that I'm going and excited to be!
  9. The thing is, the shield has substantial damage reduction which offsets the HP loss by the sword, and the sword wont crit unless you charge with the shield. What I want to see is how effective the charging actually is, and if the shield is always on like the razorback so you can charge anytime, or if it's only up when you have it selected/have your melee out.
  10. So, I've been terribly out of the loop on MAGfest lately, but still plan on going! I'm just a slacker when it comes to spending money, I guess. I live about 20 minutes south of MAGfest, in Northern VA, and can hijack a car for the duration too, but if somebody's got space in a hotel room I'd be open to that as well. Also, we've got room for one or two warm bodies at my house, if needed. I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I've got options and can make something or another work. If somebody needs a place to crash, or is looking for another person for a hotel room, let me know!
  11. Or by Spike TV? What do you expect? Voted, regardless. Plugged L4D2 as much as possible, of course - not that it'll do much good against Call of Doody.
  12. So, uh...who wants to play tonight? I'm home by 6:00 EST, and I would be fine with doing nothing else after.
  13. QFE. Seeing as I'm a PC specific gamer, it saves me the trouble of having to read about every new Japanese DS erotica game (I'm looking at you, Kotaku). I like how their coverage includes not only big-name manshoots, but obscure and fun Flash games every now and then too. I'll still flip through Kotaku every now and then, but RPS is definitely my favorite.
  14. Well damn, it's about time I got myself a new Facebook profile picture.
  15. Just got back to my apartment. Had a great time all! It was fun seeing everybody, and I look forwards to all the photos too.
  16. I will for sure be there, confirmed, etc etc. I'll be taking the R5 in. Prophet Orwell has to go into Baltimore for stuff and won't make it, though. I look forwards to seeing you all there!
  17. For autoattacks, STR heroes gain damage from more STR, AGI heroes get more damage from AGI, and INT heroes get more damage from INT. This is pretty much straight from WC3. So yes, it's the highlighted yellow stat.
  18. It's because summons are looooooooooooooo... ... ooooooooooooooo.... oooong. Also, very funny video. I highly approve, and can't wait for more episodes.
  19. What helped me is reading a few of the beginners guides on the websites, and then finding one or two heroes that you like and finding more specific guides for them. Playing with OCR helps too, because I'm always the guy going "wtf should I be doing to help?", and I can expect relatively good responses.
  20. I can totally make it there, and Prophet Orwell will probably show too. I'll let him know it's going on. Doing some Fringe stuff would be fun, but I'm a theatre geek, so yeah... Sounds like a heck of a lot of fun, though! Cant wait to see you all!
  21. Good times playing last night. I tried a pub game later that night and, well, yeah. Not so much fun to be had. When you lose, you lose hard, and it takes a while to finish losing, too, and you only keep losing worse and worse as it goes along. That's probably my biggest complaint at this point with the game - if you start sucking, it's a very slippery slope. Does anyone know if there's a way to stop your hero from running in and auto-attacking? There are times when I just want to sit a ways away and farm XP, not get in the middle of a brawl and risk getting ganked (again), but this means I have to just keep clicking for him to move away over and over again while hearing the same 2 voice clips. I really hope they expand the voice response library a bit more, or have an option to turn it off (is there one?)
  22. I'll play too sometime. Is there some sort of friends list or whatever so I can find you noobs? My game handle is, as always, Sporknight. I've played a few rounds, and am starting to get the hang of it. I'd recommend looking at the forums on their website for some beginner guides and stuff if you're new. At least then you can get down some basics like denies and last hitting, and a few basic items to shoot for.
  23. Aww, why thank you Clefairy. Glad to be a point of amusement to make up for a crappy day. This touching moment brought to you by the OCRemix TF2 Community
  24. 8 is not so bad if you dont mind spending hours drawing tons of magic to stock up on and never use because you have it junctioned. I'd say that each FF has its strengths and weaknesses - some do better on plot, some do better on music, some do better on battle/magic systems, etc. Personally, I feel that 4 < 5 < 6, and 7 is good if you can get over the graphics - 8 definitely aged better than 7, without a doubt. Supposedly there's some fan patch/mod thing that lets you replace the 'world' sprites with 'battle' sprites for 7, so I suppose that would make it playable in this day and age. As for all the other FF games, I've played the first few hours of 10 and 12, plus some other random bits in 10. 9 has slipped by me for whatever reason.
