  1. The Genesis can sound grating, but that is usually the fault of the sound designer. The YM2612 has friggin' great bass. I've never heard as good of a bass on a SNES game as heard in Streets of Rage. Yeah, lots of bad sounds in many games, but the same holds true for the SNES as well. Whereas the Genesis has a reputation for , the SNES has a reputation for sounding ultra-muffled and using mass amounts of reverb in an attempt to disguise it.
  2. This game will be fine. Dunno if same can be said about the ones after it, since Gearbox owns Duke Nukem now.
  3. Well, I used as reference for the snare sound. It didn't have too much reverb either so I decided to follow the example.
  4. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-10-11-castlevania-los-sequel-confirmed Guess it sold enough for Konami to want to continue it.
  5. For one, Sonic 2 had 10 levels and Death Egg so you got more varied enemies, boss fights, music, etc. Sonic 3 only had 6 levels so there is already a big difference. The final boss fight from Sonic 3 couldn't match up the quality of the Giant Mech of its prequel. And as someone who considers music one of the main priorities in a game, I like the soundtrack of the first two titles better.
  6. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1409948/mp3/txai/laser%20ninja%20%28alien%20mix%29.mp3 Original: There are many remixes of this song on KWED, so I tried to give it a different approach. Everything was sequenced by ear. It also references works from certain artists of older periods, which is a habit I have every now and then.
  7. Thread is becoming a bragging contest. Everyone, evacuate!
  8. Thanks for sharing this. I was looking for it in the old thread but all I could find was a dead link.
  9. Phantasy Star IV - Laughter Great music with some cool stereo effects. PS IV has plenty of good boss tunes, but this is the most evil and suspenseful. It's even better than the last battle music, which wasn't really that great. There are some sampled sounds here and there and everything is pretty clean and fun to listen to. The musical instruments sound very similar to Ghouls 'n Ghosts' sound library. Motoaki Takenouchi knew how to make his songs interesting all the way through (notice how he gives each synth its time to shine). Unfortunately he stopped making music for games in 1996 and seems to have disappeared, been kidnapped, died or something. Panorama Cotton - Last Battle (mp3 because there is no youtube for this one) Overall this song has good hooks and even a little Asian flavour thrown in. The drum samples are fantastic and they can really boom at certain points. Excellent music! Yes... for a Genesis game. We all know for a fact that the Genesis makes the worst sound that has ever been made on this planet. Worse than the NES, worse than the Atari 2600, everybody hates the Genesis. Yes, the SNES is super-orgasmic and has no flaws. Now be quiet already
  10. TMNT (Arcade) - Boss Music Rockin' tune complete with Konami's trademark FM synths and orchestra hits.
  11. It's your fault the 3DS price is high!
  12. Youtube Doubler shows it like it is: http://www.youtubedoubler.com/?video1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D_qXnJnFGZ4Y&start1=&video2=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DVuIDm8vkB1I&start2=&authorName=
  13. Enigami corrected his list in his second post. Aren't you counting him twice?

  15. He plans to make a movie about AVGN:
  16. Right-click the Mute / solo, edit events and there you go.
  17. Give examples. I assure you, you won't find any.
  18. Honestly, they quite annoy me. I'll be playing a game, minding my own god damned business when all of a sudden an MTV-like pop-up (or VH1-like, I dunno) flashes on the screen to tell me that I have made some sort of achievement, as if I cared. I do not like little messages like that popping up on my screen when I am playing a game, especially when the messages and what they represent are so amazingly useless.
  19. On the contrary of popular belief, having multiple professions doesn't qualify as talent. If the person is good at everything, that is a different matter. Not really his biggest listener, but I'm sure "Jacko" pioneered many things that made him supposedly great. He was a man that truly worked hard in what he did, whether it was his music or his dancing. He was an honest worker who deserved his fame and fortune. Still, claiming he was better or comparing him with artists of older periods is pretty silly and pointless.
