  1. They wouldn't know there would be a second GRMRB if they didn't follow the Maverick thread.
  2. Good to hear some more Bloodlines. I think it is also Dr. Manhattan's best work yet (love the breakdown at 2:38). Well done.
  3. If you want your threads to live for a few days make sure to add the word 'hate' to the thread title!
  4. Always loved the soundtrack to the 1997 PC game Outlaws. Western Morricone-style music at its finest. Using an orchestra with authentic instruments was unusual at the time:

  6. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00900/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01203/ My favorite kind of DnB is less dark and more uplifting, it has stuff like fast string stabs and electric pianos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=203FfH4ODPM
  7. If anyone wants to read old reviews and stuff, Wayback Machine is the place to be: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://vgmix.com
  8. Nothing stops you from listening to music from games you never played.
  9. For the Capcom ones I'd say TGSF21x would be close enough to emulate the basic feel. Here's a recreation of Dr. Doom Stage using said soundfont: http://tindeck.com/listen/zsbv
  10. Not only the vocals. It has pretty much everything I love in a hip-hop track, from guitar stabs to scratching.
  11. Speaking of hidden gems, has better drums than most Game Boy soundtracks (Blaster Master Jr. being another example). Yay for drums that aren't only white noise!
  12. If they release a game so early because 'there isn't enough time' you have to wonder if they really care about making a good game at all. It would be worth the wait if they spent more time working on this, meaning you would be rewarded with a more polished product. Sixteen years later and this is the best they can do for a sequel?
  13. Master System was the only 8-bit console I experienced back in the days, so I don't have nostalgia for Mega Man, Super Mario Bros. and the like. Instead, I had a lot of fun with games like Safari Hunt, Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Psycho Fox. All of course thanks to Tectoy.
  14. Face it, it's just a terrible game. The fact that enthusiasts like in can get the physics correct but real programmers with a budget cannot escape their programming incompetence is just really sad. In fact, Sonic 4 does feel like it was made by non-professionals.
  15. Taking it a bit personally, aren't you? I didn't say people should stop hyping it. But when I am watching a trailer from a game (no matter how slow paced it might be) I want to know how it plays before saying anything. Just because you don't care how a game like that is featured in a trailer doesn't mean you should get pissed if I do. The end.
  16. Hard to say anything without seeing gameplay. Capcom seem to enjoy killing franchises lately.
  17. It was my impression from renting games like Rock n' Roll Racing and Sonic Spinball back in the days. I am not too fond of the synths used for these games as they sound pretty strident. People not familiar with what the Genesis has to offer musically may think most soundtracks sound like that, but obviously it's not true.
