"QUICK GUYS THERE'S A HINT ON THE VC FOR SOMETHING COOL COMING UP IS IT EARTHBOUND HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH?! CAN IT PLEASE BE EARTHBOUND?!" I'm not particularly interested in C64 games, I just enjoy watching you all suffer.

I don't mind people liking the game, I mind how loudly they like it. Lucas' inclusion in Brawl caused a shitstorm about Mother 3 coming over here, the ESRB's accidental rating caused a shitstorm, every little unrelated clue causes someone to start yelling OMG IS IT EARTHBOUND?! I don't hate its popularity, or its popularity among a minority, I hate its popularity among a loud - and whiny - minority. Seriously, EB was a good game. Now move on and stop talking about it.

Yeah. I just enjoy seeing the fanbase suffering - they're gonna be loud about their fandom either way, so I'd rather hear them suffering despite their rabidness than squeeing about getting what they want. Best to discourage them, you know. Then again, I'm in a pretty bad mood today. Sorry EB fans, nothing personal. I'm just out of sorts and don't really mean it.

I'm in the opposite boat - I'm glad it's not Earthbound. I'm apathetic toward the game itself but its whiny-ass fanbase is really beginning to piss me off. I'm almost glad Nintendo's basically admitted they'll never bring it to VC or Mother 3 to the US.

I'll be keeping my 'Cube copy of Prime even as I buy the new one, simply because my 'Cube copy is one of the original prints with all of the fun sequence-breaking glitches intact.

Hey OCR, it's that time again! Time for a request thread, and what request thread is complete without a detailed explanation that halfway justifies my thread taking up part of your frontpage? So I proficiency-tested out of Chinese 101 and hopped right into 102 at college (thanks to having two years of Chinese at high school), but most of my music is (as I am something of an anime fan) mostly in Japanese. I think it would really help my pronunciation and general studying mode if I were to find some good Chinese music to listen to while I work on other things or drive or whatnot. I know about Faye Wong, who is pretty awesome, and my teacher gave me a Gu Zheng CD that's all very oriental in feeling, but I'm looking for something with a good strong rock feel and actual singing - not overly strong or nearing the metal threshold, but something like if The Pillows were Chinese instead of Japanese. I appreciate any help and all of the time you've taken to read this. Thanks much!

I definitely think Metroid Prime's way more notable in this case than Pikmin. But that's just me.

Just gotta say, playing last night was awesome. Lots of fun getting my Ubersaw by bonesawing Bahamut in the back AND defending the point, LOL, and I'm one achievement away from getting the KGB. Looking forward to playing with you guys again!

Here's a mod I'd like to see: - Few, if any guns. Pistol has limited ammo, does slightly more damage. - Melee weapons galore. Bats, machetes, tennis rackets, beer bottles (broken too), pieces of wood, maybe a couple of antique swords, fists (if nothing is equipped), flaming sticks, keyboards, the kitchen sink, flashlights, everything. - Every melee weapon has a durability that decreases every time you hit with it, and when it runs out, it breaks ('cept the fists, which just do less damage until you leave them alone for a while, at which point they slowly heal). Swords do a lot of damage, but break easily; kitchen sinks are slow, but do a lot of damage and last a long time. Beer bottles are fast but break easily, et cetera. - Maybe as a separate mod, but a dismemberment engine more akin to Dead Space - because cutting off legs and arms should be as effective as the head. None of this e-peen stroking no flashlight, no crosshair, no music, pistol-only FINAL DESTINATION bullshit. Let's have some melee.

God, it looks like Square's still trying to milk the FF7 fanbase. FFXIII could be announced as a prequel/sequel to FF7 and nothing would have to change.
