  1. I agree, linear isn't always bad. It depends if the game is fun. I've played Chrono Trigger countless times and that is very linear. On the other hand open-world sandbox games I tend not to play more than once through, despite all of the "freedom". The ones I replay the most are like Icewind Dale, where the game is linear but party creation gives tons of replay value.
  2. Does it still require a persistent internet connection? I'm guessing yes.
  3. with the fresh new judges on the job a year and a half.
  4. I just want a way to tap into the OCR fanbase and let them access my crappy shit earlier than a year or two after submitting it. Whether or not people can rate it is fairly unimportant to me.
  5. No idea, I don't have a specialist yet. I just picked up the lab report and read it yesterday. I don't know anything about living with partial tears... will I be pain-free someday? Will I ever be able to resume normal exercising? Who knows. I don't want to make it worse. They don't seem to heal on their own from what I've read. By the same token I've read wildly varying stories of the efficacy of surgery. The labrum tear would explain why my shoulder pops and feels unstable. My right shoulder pops too, although no pain of any kind, and in a different direction. I wonder what an MRI would have found there.
  6. so I finally got an MRI for my shoulder. picked up the results today. I have a partial tear in the subscapularis, and a posterior labral tear. I'm going to get a box of wine, brb.
  7. It sounds more like industrial to me. What I notice is the arrangement is kinda sparse. Texturally there should be some more layers.
  8. I think I like the idea of a "like" better than a number rating system, otherwise people will obsess over their score. idk
  9. Seems to me there are 2 separate groups, people who want to post WIPs and get constructive feedback, and people who want to post finished tracks and reach an audience looking for remixes. There should be a system that satisfies both groups.
  10. Also new in 4.6 is the ability to reverse (horizontally) and invert (vertically) selected MIDI notes. More useful commands for your arsenal, you'll find these a time saver when constructing arpeggios and stuff. Running low on available keys yet? Having trouble remembering all the key commands you've made? I'm right there with you.
  11. You all are very fortunate that I will spare you my screechings.
  12. To be honest those sound like the words of a power-mad monopolist. I think an open alternative like the old VGMix, not the shadow it's become, would be a good thing. It's not like I would pick one or the other, I'd post on both sites.
  13. I always like when I can remix a theme that no one has done yet. Or at least hasn't been posted on OCR yet.
  14. Haha, I haven't done that many gifs have I? God damn.
  15. Honestly couldn't tell you man, ReaControlMIDI isn't something I use for program changes. Try the Reaper forums, if anyone has the answer it's them.
  16. Pretty ironic for a company that knows everything about us.
  17. people should be able to edit only their own marker in case they move. Not sure if thats possible.
  18. I couldn't figure out how to enter a zip code so I just placed it by hand.
  19. Too much filler, but not a bad purchase for someone who doesn't own any individual NI products. You can't say that you're being shortchanged on content.
  20. Another new MIDI feature in 4.6 is the ability to select a range of notes by clicking and dragging on the piano keys. Certain other DAWs support this, and now Reaper does. Right-drag highlights a block of notes, shift+right drag will add notes to the current selection, and ctrl+right drag will remove notes from the current selection. Here's an example.
  21. Reaper 4.6 is out, after a couple months since the last release. One of the new features in the MIDI editor is actions to change a chord's voicing. I don't want to take complete credit for this, but I did mention it in a prerelease thread, and the next build, there it was.
