  1. To you it's true. I, personally, enjoy the wiimote and nunchuck. The PS3 controller is just a wireless dualshock, and suffers from the same problem I had with those--the control sticks being somewhat unintuitive. They should be the main focus of the controller, not stuffed to the bottom and forcing you to reach your thumbs back. Particularly since 90% of the games use one or both of them. Also, obligatory.
  2. This hearkens back to something I saw on /v/ once: MSpaint comic of someone complaining about these awesome games out for the Wii and saying "This is cool but it'd be better on PS3/360" and, when finally asked why he doesn't just get a Wii, he responds with "the Wii has no good games."
  3. Castlevania you say? ...oh wait, the price tag. Right. Dammit.
  4. I, for one, got a chubby when Stewart spoke. The man brings a sense of class to EVERYTHING.
  5. Hey guys, guess who's at it again! http://www.gigwise.com/news/56465/Westboro-Baptist-Church-To-Protest-At-Satan-Worshipper-Ronnie-James-Dios-Funeral
  6. http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/10/frank-frazetta-fantasy-illustrator-dies-at-82/ Let's face it: the man was a legend, a giant of the illustration business. He is, was, and will probably be, a huge influence on western fantasy and fantasy in general, and I'm certain he has inspired through his art countless games and game heroes, scenery, and monsters. Rock that big canvas in the sky, Frank.
  7. Nnnngh I dunno. I MIGHT do something. Might being the key word.
  8. There is a distinct lack of Touhou metal remixes in this thread. Lemme remedy that real quick. Demetori is pretty much gold-slathered gold. Can't really go wrong with their arrangements overall, as each one is distinct enough not to get boring and are chock full of energy WITHOUT lacking substance. Septette for the Dead Princess ~ Ascending Into Naught http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-WmpoP6ZSs Bloom nobly, cherry blossoms of Sumizome ~ Border of Life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36S6zc4GLA&feature=related Youkai Mountain ~ Mysterious Mountain Kid's Festival ~ Innocent Treasures The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood Necrofantasia ~ Remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAiEEOxM6Yo Xi-on is a bit more peppy and light-hearted compared to Demetori, but this is far from a bad thing. I've only just started listening to this circle, and I like what I'm hearing. Cinderella Cage ~ Kagome-Kagome Gensokyo Millennium ~ History of the Moon Nostalgic Blood of the East ~ Old World http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wR_pYJ7q9U Crow's Claw is pretty crunchy stuff. That's all I got to say on them, really, though they DID do an FF remix album; haven't checked that out yet. 9. I just wonder how much of a disappointment this game is going to be, considering how they've dropped the ball so bad over the past few years.
  10. I have picked my subject matter. ...this is going to take a while.
  11. I cannot say that I am impressed by this at all. Indeed, I find it rather underwhelming as a whole; Kuwaykuwatsu statement about it sounding like elevator music is rather apt, I feel. Nothing much at all jumps out to me, aside from the fact that it is a one-person album featured on OCremix--which, I admit, is quite a feat in and of itself. There's no doubting that at all. But Unchosen Paths this is not. At only 7 tracks it is far too short to cover all the memorable tracks of the Castlevania series, as well as not properly showing off the wide skills that I know Mr. Morse has. Every track seems cramped, trying to fit too many styles at once, and the work suffers for it; it comes off as both disjointed and same-y at every turn, as if he couldn't decide on how to remix each track. For a Castlevania remix album, and the first for OCR, it is a rather poor introduction.
  12. This has some merit, methinks. Back when Sega used to have consoles, releasing a Sonic game on there was a BIG THING. They put time and effort into it, tried to polish it as best they could, and when it was released it was often hailed as excellent. Even SA2, while a bit spotty and too formulaic, was quite a good game for its time. It still is, to a point. But now that they don't have a core, system-purchasing fanbase to appease with 'must-have' 1st party titles, they don't see a reason to put as much resources into them. I think they just got lazy and bitter, and now their flagship series is wading in a pool of mud. Sad, really.
  13. Looks like just about every JRPG released in the PSX era, particularly Xenogears. In fact, it looks a LOT like Xenogears, which in and of itself is not a bad thing; indeed, myself and a lot of posters here grew up on that golden era of RPG's, so I think for most it will be a touch of comfortable nostalgia. Maybe you shouldn't get so caught up over how a game looks, and worry more about the content and how it, yanno. PLAYS. Goddamn, we haven't even seen it in motion yet. Reserve judgement until then.
  14. Inevitably I'd just end up drawing a controller sticking out of the middle of a TV screen. Because that really sums up my experience with the MvsC franchise as a whole.
  15. I don't think I've ever cried upon listening to a song before. This, did it. It's...beautiful. Words fail in describing it so. There's just something so crystal-clear, so heartfelt and lonesome, that pulls at the heart strings and makes you feel.
  16. Speculation: perhaps Dracula is manipulating Gabriel in some manner to attain the power of the Lords of Shadow for himself. His servant, Death, has show the capacity before--we do not, after all, know who that voice is that is speaking to Gabriel in the opening when he is talking about the mask. We don't know exactly HOW powerful he was directly after LoI; we just know he'd been laying low for some 400 years. I'd imagine he was spending that time gaining more power and resources in a clandestine manner, and trying to gain the Lords' power for himself would be in line with how he works. Again, though, speculation.
  17. Which really doesn't shed much light on things. IGA states that it was removed from the timeline, and yet it shows up on the PoR timeline list as well as having Cornell in Judgment. It's a strange case.
  18. Werewolves have always been enemies in the Castlevania series, as early as Simon's Quest even. Also, I don't know if he's retconned Legacy of Darkness; Cornell IS in Judgment, after all. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he'd eventually try and forget that one existed, too... The WoA was Rinaldo's creation, and doubtful that it was used by anyone else BUT him up until Leon. Gabriel's whip in the trailer looks nothing like the Vampire Killer. Granted, they HAVE changed it's appearance in-game many times, from a basic leather whip to some sort of long flail, but canonically it's leather. Hell, we don't even know of Gabriel is a Belmont, or even one of the splinter families--and by his accent, I'm doubting he is one.
  19. I've always sucked at bullet hell games. It's mostly a matter of reflexes; my eyes can catch all of it and know what to do--I can see all the patterns and the best place to move, and when to do it like I'm some sort of game-geek Apollo Justice--but my fingers will be arsed to actually work with my brain half the time. Plus, I don't have the space on my laptop for any games right now until I get an external HD, so that's out of the picture. :V
  20. It doesn't really have that kind of feel to it. Something tells me it takes place AFTER that, but probably before Castlevania III (or Legends, if you wanna get super-technical about it (but that doesn't exist for timeline purposes so wtf ever)). If it IS before LoI, then it should tie into Walter or Joachim in some way--otherwise it would have absolutely no connection to Castlevania at all. We'll need more information for either situations to be true, of course.
