So around lunchtime yesterday, I joined Tensei in a server over in Finland maybe? Anyway, My ping hovered around a constant 167. I came to find out that sniping is waaaay easier with a really high ping, but I have no idea why. Somehow, it was really easy to pinpoint moving heads. In one short round on Turbine, I was 28-4 (kill-death ratio). Maybe this explains why Presh can seem so godly at sniper? Convoy was fun, but mostly because nobody knows the map. If it were played as much as Dustbowl, it would suck hardcore. More than half the fun of custom maps is everyone exploring the map together. This is why fastlane and turbine were so disappointing once they became "official." Once you play them enough to know everything, the novelty is lost.

If you want to try it out, I think most GameStops have it in their Wii kiosks. At least the one I work at does. Also, Metacritic is my favorite place to read game reviews.

Ha ha ha, I got the "Puncher" award on HLStatsX yesterday when Tensei was playing silly music. I didn't realize we had been doing it long enough for me to punch out more people than anyone else on the server for the rest of the day. I was horrible last night. Couldn't catch a break. The weird thing was that I was so bad that it went beyond being frustrating and went into hilarious category. It became one of those "TF2 Failure" videos (that aren't good enough to link here) that show how to fail at each class. Fastlane and Turbine are OK, but there are so many awesome maps, OK is not good enough. Needs moar warpath. Also, I'm in the mood to play some custom maps soon. Not sure if that means we should add some to the rotation or just have a day of custom maps, but either way, I'd like to play and explore those with other OCR people.

Ahh, you mean for higher education beyond undergrad, then yes, GBA can be extremely important, especially for getting into Grad schools. As for getting a job out of college, I find that the other stuff is just as important. I suppose we're talking about much different goals here. Either way, we agree that you should get outside and socialize. NOW GO PLAY FRISBEE!!

Ehhh, it depends on the club and institution. If you create the "David Lloyd Pretzel Fan Club" and you're the president, it doesn't mean much. If you join the local community service organization, even if you're never president, that's a pretty big deal, as long as you stay active. Even being on the executive board of a Greek fraternity (or sorority, if you lack the Y chromosome) means that you have experience leading and managing business and people. I don't know if anybody has told you new college-bound students this or not, but you really can do whatever you want to as long as you work hard at it. The only people who fail at college are the ones who don't do the necessary work. Go to class. Do your homework. Then you should have plenty of time afterward to do everything else. It's really not nearly as bad or hard as you think it might me. You'll quickly learn what it takes to do the necessary amount of work, and then you'll find you have lots of free time. Free time that you can spend DOING things, like going to lectures or performances, meeting new people, or participating in other cool things. Just promise me that you won't lock yourself in your room and refuse to talk to people.

This kind of stuff happens to me all the time. I run Microsoft VISTA unfortunately, so i think it just happens occasionally. As long as it doesn't happen every time, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Updating the drivers is always a good choice, though, and if there was a problem, that has a good chance of fixing it. Sorry, but I disagree with you on this point. GPA is important, but it's more important in college that you did things. Do community service, join a club/greek/honorary group and go for leadership positions. You'd be much better off having a well-rounded resume with a 3.6 GPA than a 4.0 with no activities. I do agree with this, though: work your ass off. Not necessarily on grades alone, though. Work on meeting and making friends, work on special projects, work on homework and studying, and work on having fun. I also recommend getting an average of 6 hours of sleep each night, not more, because you have too much stuff to do, like trying to find a donut shop at 1:30 in the morning on a school night with 3 of your friends. Also, stop playing one-player video games and find people to play multiplayer games. Totally worth it.

If he starts using capitalization, punctuation and generally complete paragraph structures, it might be the best game of all time.

Sticky spawn camping is just a really cheap way to get easy kills and improve your stats. Yes, it'll help your team win, but then again, so does hacking. I've always thought it was a completely unethical thing to do. Please warn then ban offenders.

So I finally bought a microphone, so you all can make fun of the fact that my voice isn't nearly as manly or impressive as you may have imagined. The thing holding me up before was that I had a mic, but I guess it was incompatible with VISTA because I could never get it to work on my new machine. Yes, I tried whatever advice you may suggest. So I finally gave up and just bought a USB mic. It now works like a charm. Of course, In have no idea how to talk while playing TF2, so I may have some growing pains. IMPORTANT QUESTION: What key do other people have binded to voice? "V" didn't seem to make sense, so I'm trying "F" but now I can't go right and talk at the same time. Suggestions?

I wouldn't mind hearing about their server on the forums, though! Where can I find it? What is their rotation? But that's all I really want. I'd love to learn more about the ZUZ server outside the OCR server yet still in the OCR community (including mIRC), but I'd rather not advertise on the OCR TF2 server itself.

So the server now has 30 max players? I've yet to see it above 24 yet, but it looks like it's set for 30. Are some of those reserved slots or something? MY NEXT GOAL: Unlock (and eat) sandviches. No more excuses. Also, no achievement servers allowed. I learned my lesson from Medic back when you needed all of the achievements for the uber saw.

I need to go back to feeling this way. I'm just starting to get so frustrated lately on overplayed maps when people know where the sentries are without seeing them first. I suppose I'd be less frustrated if I didn't play Engineer, but then, who would?

Clearly this will be better than Internet Explorer, but will it make me say goodbye to Firefox forever? I have a hard time believing that the answer will be yes.

Warpath might be my favorite map. It takes a ton of teamwork and coordination to overcome the last 2 points. Every class is equally useful. Much <3 to cp_Warpath.

I paid Bahamut for this month's reservation on the TF2 server. This is a friendly reminder that you should do the same. Hooray honor! I like arena maps more than some regular maps, but less than some favorites. I could take them or leave them. However, I do agree with others who point out that regardless of its fun, it doesn't feel like TF2. I suppose that means I'm leaning toward removing them, or at least playing less. For example, I would remove arena_well and arena_granary because the cp versions are more fun. Some would argue cp_badlands is more fun than arena, as well. Leaving the occasional lumberyard seems fun to me though. Also, I love custom maps.

Once someone has mic spammed, it's too late. My ears already hurt and I'm already pissed off. I can mute them to make it stop, but the damage has been done to (temporarily) steal my fun. Then I lock myself in my room and play Linkin Park while dreaming of running away from home cuz nobody appreciates me anymore.

Ah yes, but with the new longer rotation, the map length changed from 45(?) to 30 minutes. This would be a way to put it back to 45 if people wanted to. But I think what Bahamut was saying is that it's possible to "vote extend" in chat instead of RTV? I'll have to try that next time and see how it goes. ALSO: I've been taking a lot of screenshots recently. I'll look through them sometime soon and post some good ones, especially ones that might be sig-worthy. So if you want a screenshot of you killing me, you better try to kill me first!
