  1. Like, I know, rite? The server now has too many awesome maps that deserve to be played. The cue must be ridiculous. I'm sure RTV makes the rotation less useful, but here are a few suggestions I have nonetheless: 1. Exclude cp_badlands (since arena badlands is better IMO) 2. Remove or lessen 2fort. It's just too old. 3. Continue using Dustbowl and Goldrush only once. 4. ◕◡◕ 5. Is it possible to add "extend map x minutes" to the rtv list that comes up? If so, yes please for 15 minutes. 6. As much as I looove unofficial custom maps, now is not a good time for them. Keep using the new official maps for another week or so until we all get sick of them, then we should start finding different ones like Orange, Warpath, etc.
  2. I once was a medic with an uber saw and it took me 4 shots to kill an eating Heavy. I want them to be even more susceptible than just not moving. It's not a big deal or anything, just my opinion. REGARDING RTV: I'm very glad we have it, but it still needs some tweaking. Can we make it so a certain number of people have to type rtv to initiate map voting? Currently, with all the arena maps, all it takes is one person who doesn't like them, and the map is changed. To 2Fort. Again.
  3. I need to play less "support" classes during free weekends. Supporting new players usually leads to frustrating results. It's nice to rack up the kills against the inexperienced, but on the other hand, my team usually loses in the 20 seconds I'm waiting to respawn when I die. For example, I joined a granary match and had 12 kills + 5 assists on only 3 deaths as an engineer, but after 2 heavy+medic combos cornered me, I watched in horror as my team lost 20 seconds later. I don't mind helping the newbies because everyone has to start somewhere, but I definitely expect to lose (or win, depending on teams) more suddenly. ALSO: I still giggle when I hear "OM NOM NOM NOM. NOM NOM" from the other side of the map. Hilarious. I do wish, however, that heavies were even more susceptible to dying while eating the sandvich. Every shot on them should be an instant critical while they eat. I feel that a heavy getting caught munching should practically die instantly as punishment for not finding a good enough hiding spot.
  4. I feel like I'm suddenly in the minority, but I didn't like Wind Waker. I liked the art, but I couldn't get past the initial gameplay. There was too much hiding and espionage at the beginning, and I found the sailing to be long and tedious. The new swordplay was awesome, but the lack of challenge never allowed me to feel like I was trying hard to swing my sword. I liked Twilight Princess a lot. I really thought the added sword elements worked here to be difficult, yet achievable for neat results. Like the Helm Splitter. I didn't like Majora's Mask. I thought having a constant time limit felt like having a looming deadline on a writing assignment. I didn't feel like I could take the time to really explore. It may have been a good game, but it sure didn't feel like Zelda. I'm sure I'm going to be flamed for these comments, but hey, discussions are lame if everyone agrees on everything.
  5. Arena mode was kind of fun, but man, it's a real downer not to play a round. Especially when there were 4+ people spectating and only 16 playing, it's frustrating. Although, I bet it's perfect for those times when I'm multi-tasking my TF2 with other chores/duties, such as eating, shaving, laundry, etc. I noticed that in the 5 minutes I got to play Engineer on Arena Badlands (before my TF2 client crashed - AGAIN), it appears that the Engy buildings don't blow up when you die, like they do during Sudden Death. Though, I didn't get a chance to notice if my sentry was still working or if it was powered down. PRO TIP: Don't type !radio in chat if you think your TF2 might crash. This caused my Steam client to crash completely, not just TF2. The rest of my computer was unstable until I restarted. For everyone else though, I think just the OCR server crashed, not TF2. Confirm/deny? Also, I approve of the improved Kritzkrieg. I rarely saw it used before, but hopefully this will fix that. I don't think it's enough to convince me to use it, but I don't mind seeing it. Finally, OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM. NOM NOM NOM NOM. NOM.
  6. The pictures for the new environment in "Lumberyard" make me crave Swiss Miss hot chocolate with the mini marshmallows. I'm a whore to advertisements.
  7. Aw, this isn't OCR Fantasy Football. I'm sad now.
  8. Look up the band "Chase," headed by lead trumpeter Bill Chase. Some band members died in some airplane accident, if I remember, and apparently their music died with them.
  9. (free bump) I paid you! Hooray! Check your PMs for my address. I'd give it out on here, but then Atmuh would come to my house and speak to me without punctuation or capital letters.
  10. Ooh, a DS thread bump! I played my DS like crazy while on vacation, playing The World Ends with You, Final Fantasy III and Children of Mana. My thoughts: TWEWY was amazing. Easily breaks into my top 3 DS games, behind Elite Beat Agents. I'm going to pick up the players guide sometime to help me finish the "game after the game." I highly recommend it to all hardcore gamers, yet I'd tell casual gamers to stay far away because it's too hard and too different for the average gamer. "NEO-TOKYO WTF?" FFIII is just OK. I miss controlling characters with character. I was playing through with a guide (cuz I got one for free), and I never realized how unhelpful and inaccurate most guides are. I constantly said things like, "The map doesn't actually look like that," "This room doesn't connect to this room" and "Why does it not tell me that a dragoon takes off 5000+ damage off the boss while everyone else takes off 200?" Not very helpful, especially considering most people spent $17 on it. Children of Mana was a pleasant surprise. It turned out to be kind of like Diablo II because you hacked and slashed your way to treasures. Many many many optional sidequests. Magic was pretty useless though. The biggest problem was the horrific storyline written by a third grader. "O P.S. I'm not really the bad guy. All that crap I was doing to you earlier should be discarded. Go kill the real bad guy." A fun rental, but not worth owning. I beat it (much to my relief) after about 18 hours, after I quit doing side quests and just charged through the main quests. Still no word on Fire Emblem DS outside of Japan, right? I have very high expectations for it. If Fire Emblem DS improves Fire Emblem GBA in the same way that Advance Wars DS improved Advance Wars GBA, it should be an amazing game/series.
  11. $20 for No More Heroes and a slot reservation on TF2 for the rest of the month of August?
  12. I'm going to be disappearing from the server for a week and a half (again). Rambo was doing such a good job holding my No. 1 ranking that I decided to let him keep it! Actually, I'm vacationing to Canada for a while and will be away from my computer. And civilization. No, I'm not going to visit Rambo or Bleck to stab them in the back in real life. When I get back, I'll finally get a slot reservation since the server is too popular for casual playing anymore. Take care, gentlemen!
  13. I really like the overall sound of it. I think it could really use a more interpretive solo at some point near the end. You follow closely to the original, and I think an "improvised" sounding solo on one of the guitars would help make it feel like it's your own piece. Just play around within the chord changes and see where it takes you!
  14. And I just got the freaking backburner today. It took me until today because I didn't achievement whore to get it. Rats. EDIT: Oh thank God. That's about 6 months too late, but I'll take it!
  15. I'm sorry. I support the "kick D-bags" motion. I feel like sometimes even I'm an ass on the server ("teams are unbalanced, WAAAHH! I need someone to hold my hand") but sometimes other people are just ridiculous. P.S. I surpassed the 100 hours played as an Engineer mark yesterday. I'm about 15 hours away for Medic. P.P.S. Please add me to the first page. I think I'm ready for it now STEAM_0:1:782615
  16. Steel's not something you just pop your head in on and can effectively evaluate as a map. It's so big that it takes a long time to figure out strategies and techniques. I still don't think I've played it enough to know whether I like it or not. But I do want to try it again and see if I do better next time.
  17. Toy Fort + Low gravity = super happy fun times. I'm sorry I missed mass classing. I seriously need to stop having other obligations and just play TF2 all day/night long. I don't think I'll be able to play tonight, either.
  18. It never hurts to try. I'd guess your ping would hover around 125-150, which should be fine. Having ping above 180 starts to cause problems. Again, you should stop by sometime and see how it goes! OTHER TOPIC: So around 2:30 p.m. EST yesterday, the server was empty. I decided to boot up Team Fortress Classic (Not TF2) just for funzies. Man, I had no idea what was going on. Every character looked exactly the same as everyone else, and I got really sick of hearing "hah" every time someone jumped. Grenades were like impossible to spot, and it really made me glad that they are gone from TF2. It sure was weird that everyone had like 4 guns, especially for the pyro, who suddenly has a rocket launcher to accompany a rather worthless flame thrower. Team Fortress 2 is a really great game. I can't believe I spent so much time playing TFC back in the day, because it sure feels like a horrible game today.
  19. Years +1. Happy birthday! "We baked you a birthday cake! If you get a tummy ache, and you moan and groan and woe, don't forget WE TOLD YOU SO!" -The Three Stooges
  20. Sounds like you should get a Nintendo DS, if you haven't yet. Those are awesome buddies to assist the epic poo.
  21. That's part of it's allure: Warpath is epic. It takes commitment and great team strategy to overcome the stalemate. You really need everyone to be doing their jobs to win. Or the other team needs to suck. That helps too. The instant respawn is a little rough, but 20 seconds can cause other problems. 10 seconds is pretty good for that map. The other problem is that it does need a long time to feel like you played a full round. 50 minutes might be too short. 90 to start with perhaps?
  22. ...and Metroid and Mario Kart and Fire Emblem and Blast Works and...
